A nanny falls to her death under mysterious circumstances, and the only witness, a nine-year-old girl, is left mute and deeply traumatized. Brought in to support the child during her parents' custody battle, Stella soon realizes there’s much more going on beneath the surface. As she gets closer to the truth, the danger around her begins to escalate.

I can’t believe I waited this long to read House of Glass. This book had me hooked from the first page. It’s one of those tightly wound psychological thrillers where everyone seems suspicious and nothing is quite what it seems. Every time I thought I had figured it out, the story twisted in another direction.

There’s something especially chilling about mysteries involving children, and this one used that to full effect. The atmosphere was tense, the writing sharp, and the plot completely immersive. It builds slowly at first, but once it takes off, you won’t be able to stop turning the pages.

I loved how the suspense was layered, there were emotional stakes, psychological tension, and just the right amount of creepiness. The ending genuinely surprised me, and I was guessing wrong the whole way through.

If you’re looking for a gripping, binge-worthy read that will keep you up past your bedtime, House of Glass definitely delivers. I’m officially adding this author to my must-read list.

Thank you so much @stmartinspress and @netgalley for the copy of this eARC!

I wasn't sure about this and I will be honest - my hesitancy came from the cover. I thought House of Glass looked so much like A Court of Thorn and Roses books that I immediately wanted to pass as I don't particularly care for fantasy. I am so glad I didn't, as this book was really good and kept me entertained thoroughly.

Interesting premise but didn’t pull me in like I expected. Good story but wasn’t my favorite thriller, didn’t have the “can’t put it down” quality that I love.

After witnessing her nanny going through the upstairs window, falling to her death, and in the midst of her parents divorcing, it's no wonder nine year old Rose goes mute. The problem is, Rose can't advocate for herself about who she wants to live with. Insert Stella, a lawyer tasked with placing Rose with the best parent after the divorce but as Stella spends more time with the family she has a suspicion that the fall wasn't an accident and everyone is lying.

This was the first solo Sarah Pekkanen book I've read and I devoured it! I couldn't put this book down because I needed to know Rose's fate. I immediately added Pekkanen's other books to my TBR.

Thank you NetGalley for the eARC!

The tension and twists in this book were really well done and I liked how the story slowly unraveled layer by layer. The characters were complex and believable and I enjoyed trying to piece everything together.

Sarah Pekkanen has quickly become one of my favorite new authors. I loved the first book I read by her, Gone Tonight, and I really liked this book too, although not quite as much.

We start with a mute child, which is always a trope I enjoy. I was getting Baby Teeth vibes here. Then we have the dispassionate rich mother Beth, her good looking blue collar husband, an overly-involved Grandmother, and a dead nanny whose fall from a window may or may not have been foul play. Investigating all this is our recently divorced narrator who has a traumatic past of her own.

I enjoyed the mystery of how the nanny died and the surprising twists in the plot. Pekkanen’s writing style is smooth and I slipped right in like a warm knife into butter. I liked the characters and how realistic they were.

I’ve already started reading this author’s newest novel, The Locked Ward.

Thank you Netgalley for a free ARC for review consideration.

Thank you for the ARC!

Really enjoyed this one. It had a creepy, atmospheric vibe that kept me hooked, and the mystery unfolded in a way that felt satisfying without being too predictable. Some slower moments, but overall a solid, engaging read with characters I actually cared about.

4/5 – not perfect, but definitely worth picking up.

This book was crazy unrealistic and super predictable. I wouldn't recommend this thriller, as an avid thriller reader. Sarah has done much better.

"On the outside they were the golden family with the perfect life. On the inside they built the perfect lie."
House of Glass will have you captivated from the beginning. The author did a good job writing this one and all of the characters were interesting in it. It keeps you guessing, as well. What happens when a nanny ends up dead, a girl collects sharp objects and can't talk then you have the lawyer who is trying to uncover the truth of everything, but can she really find the answers she seeks when everyone is lying... Pick up this book to find out. I enjoyed this one and would recommend to any reader who likes thrillers or mysteries. Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for this read in exchange of my honest review of House of Glass by Sarah Pekkanen.

Pekkanen has always been a favorite suspenseful writer of mine, and this one did not disappoint. It was a page turner from the first chapter, and the ending was very surprising. Pekkanen unwraps a well-developed mystery where you think you know what happened, and then you realize you were wrong the whole time.

Thank you NetGalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Such a well written and twisty whodunit read. As I enjoyed it, I felt like it dragged longer than needed, otherwise another great read from Sarah Pekkanen!

This was so suspenseful! Attorney Stella’s past is brought to life as she works on a new case. Everyone seems suspicious & possibly untrustworthy. This was a fast read. I always enjoy Sarah Pekkanen’s books.

Another amazing Sarah Pekkanen novel! I was intrigued by the premise of Rose being accused of murdering her nanny and was following Stella along as she tried to figure out the truth behind what was going on. I could not put this book down, so I bought myself a physical copy.

House of Glass is a well written with twists and turns that keeps you guessing to the end.

Sarah Pekkanen takes the reader down the path of twists and turns full of people that are more than suspicious and a tad unlikeable.

I highly recommend House of Glass, it was a book I could not put down until the final page.

This was such a crazy thriller! I couldn’t put it down!

Stella is a best interest attorney for a nine year old girl who can’t speak. Rose witnessed the traumatic death of her nanny and it has rendered her mute, the only problem is, did Rose have something to do with it?

This book was so captivating, I legitimately had trouble putting it down to go to bed! There was so much linked together at the end, not just with Rose’s story, but with Stella’s. You don’t know who to trust by the reveal.

A huge thank you to St. Martin’s Press for allowing me access to read this book.

House of Glass by Sarah Pekkanen had what I enjoy in a psycological thriller. Settings are very important for a good thriller in my opinion, and this one contained a great, creepy mansion in which all the mayhem happens. I recommend this if you are a thriller aficionado!

Thank you @netgalley and @stmartinspress for this eARC in exchange for my honest review.

Enthralled throughout the entirety of this book, even though I guessed the culprit early on- there was not much mystery to it.

My biggest critique is there were two other side stories going on that didn’t really add to the main storyline. I rated lower because of this.

This was a good solid thriller, albeit predictable.
