I enjoyed this book a lot. It had a lot of suspense and intrigue that kept me engaged. While I had hints at who I thought was the guilty party, the book was still great and kept bringing up questions to other possibilities.
Definitely a good read if you've liked her other books!

Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for the ARC!
This book was a wild ride! I appreciated that it was bingeable and had short chapters. This story was a bit traumatizing, depending on your triggers. It had an element of creating uneasiness and was on par for Sarah Pekkanen's other past thrillers. The biggest reason I couldn't give it 5 stars is because the main characters got on my nerves at times. I will say the back half of the book was much more gripping than the beginning, so stick around and give it a chance if you aren't gripped right away.

This was a good, quick thriller. I always enjoy books about spooky little kids, and Rose Barclay fits the bill. Stella is a court appointed counsel for Rose in her parent's divorce. While Stella sorts out what is best for Rose, she also takes on the role of investigator for a recent tragedy in the family home. In doing so, she encounters a bit of mystery from her own past.
There are some times where you need to suspend belief, as required with many recent thriller novels, but it's still an enjoyable ride.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for my advanced copy in exchange for an unbiased review.

On the outside they were the golden family with the perfect life. On the inside they built the perfect lie.

4.5 stars
House of Glass by Sarah Pekkanen is a haunting and intricately woven tale that had me completely captivated from start to finish. Set in a world where secrets, betrayal, and the weight of family history permeate every page, this novel takes readers on an emotional and suspenseful journey.
The story is centered around a family’s eerie mansion and the dark truths hidden within its walls. What stood out to me the most was Pekkanen’s ability to craft characters with such depth and complexity. Each one feels real, flawed, and conflicted, making their individual stories incredibly engaging. Her writing is atmospheric, drawing you into a world that feels both familiar and unsettling.
The pacing was well-balanced, with just the right amount of tension building up to keep me hooked. There were moments of slow-burn mystery that paid off in the end, though there were a few stretches where the plot felt slightly predictable. Still, the emotional payoff at the conclusion was worth the journey.
Overall, House of Glass is a deeply atmospheric, emotionally charged read that explores themes of family, legacy, and the weight of the past. It’s a compelling choice for fans of psychological thrillers and family sagas. While it wasn’t a perfect 5-star read for me, it was close and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique, immersive story.

Sarah Pekkanen’s House of Glass is a perfectly polished domestic suspense novel that invites readers into a seemingly perfect family’s world—and then shatters it. The Glass family, with their glossy exterior and enviable life, are hiding more than just dust under their pristine rugs, and it’s a messy, twisty journey to uncover the truth.
The story centers around a daughter, who, after a family tragedy, starts to dig into the past, unraveling buried secrets that threaten to crack the family’s picture-perfect facade. As secrets are uncovered, Pekkanen reveals the complexities of familial love, betrayal, and the sometimes devastating impact of keeping things hidden. The novel alternates between the perspectives of various family members, which not only builds suspense but also gives readers a deep dive into the flawed dynamics of each character.
Pekkanen’s writing is sharp and engaging, pulling you through the pages as tension slowly builds. The plot is rich in emotional depth, with a slow burn that makes you desperate to see how everything falls apart (or comes together… or both). The twists are satisfying but not overly shocking, making the journey just as thrilling as the destination.
If you’re into thrillers that deal with the psychological depth of relationships and family, this one’s for you. It’s a bit like a well-kept secret you’ve been dying to know, but be warned—once you find out, you may never look at your own family the same way again.

Completely riveting! This thriller has me guessing with every page, the twists and turns exactly what I adore in the genre--exciting and surprising.

Oh Sarah Pekkanen, what a twisted web you weave!
I suspected EVERYONE!!!
If you are looking for a dark and menacing domestic psychological thriller, this is it.
My thanks to St. Martin's Press and Netgalley for this gifted e-copy!

I have heard so many mixed reviews of this book, but I loved it! It had me guessing until the end and I loved how it was all tied together.
Stella is a lawyer who specializes in mediating children in divorce cases. The book reflects on her past and how it intertwines with Rosie, her newest case. Rosie isn't who she seems as this little girl hoards sharp objects, reads serial killer books, and has refused to speak since her nanny mysteriously fell to her death.
This book was a ride! Would highly recommend and can't wait to read more by this author.

House of Glass by Sarah Pekkanen is a quick, suspenseful read that dives into family secrets and the aftermath of a mysterious death. The story follows Stella Hudson, an attorney working to help a young girl, Rose, who has stopped speaking after her nanny’s tragic death. As Stella gets deeper into the case, she discovers dark truths about the family she’s trying to help, while also dealing with her own painful past.
The book has an intriguing plot and enough twists to keep you reading. It’s easy to get through, and the mystery surrounding Rose and the family’s secrets made me want to see how it all ended. That said, I wasn’t really hooked on the characters. Some of their choices didn’t always make sense to me, and I found it hard to connect with them emotionally. There were even a few parts I skimmed because I just wasn’t that interested.
Still, I enjoyed the twist at the end, and I think fans of psychological thrillers will like this one for its fast pace and engaging mystery. It’s not a book that will stick with me for long, but it’s a solid option if you’re in the mood for something light and suspenseful.

Thank you to St.Martin's Press and Netgalley.
I really like Sarah Pekkanen. I've read her last book, maybe, and liked it. This book House of Glass, I tried to do a buddy read and it was difficult. Really didn't leave my friend Amanda and I much to work with or talk about. I like books with custody battles if they're good but., it was repetitive and at times so slow, I didn't want to finish.
I gave it 2 stars I'm very unhappy to report.

Sarah Pekkanen’s House of Glass is a fast-paced thriller that follows a custody battle after a family’s nanny is murdered. At times the story is illogically paced and repetitive, leaving the reader underwhelmed and a bit frustrated. However, the premise is interesting enough to carry the reader over the finish line.

I enjoyed this book. It had me wondering what was really going on from the start, and did not disappoint with the reveal!

Stella Hudson is an attorney that has been tasked with making sure the child’s best interest is being protected during divorce. Rose Barclay is a nine year old girl who quit talking after she witnessed her nanny’s death. Rose collects sharp objects so they live in a plastic house which is really creepy. Stella ends up having to figure out what actually happened to the nanny and who in the family is responsible even if it Rose, the person she’s there to protect.
Rose was a really creepy character
I received this book in exchange for my honest opinion

Not my first book by this author, and won't be my last. Pekkanen has an excellent way with creating tension and mystery, and it was well used in this twisty thriller about a family full of secrets after the accidental (?) fall death of the nanny. Literally everyone is a suspect, even the nine year old daughter suffering from traumatic mutism after the death. Most of the story flowed decently enough, although there were a few points where I had "oh please" moments, but they were minor.
My thanks to St Martin's Press, the author, and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Just finished House of Glass by Sarah Pekkanen and I can’t stop thinking about it! This book is a slow-burn psychological thriller that had me guessing until the very end.
The story centers around Rose Barclay, a nine-year-old girl who witnesses a potential murder of her nanny amidst her parents’ bitter divorce leading her to become mute. Stella Hudson, a Best Interest Attorney, is assigned to represent Rose in a custody case and quickly realizes that the Barclays’ seemingly perfect life is hiding something much darker. As Stella digs deeper, the secrets she uncovers pull her into a dangerous game where everyone is a suspect: the parents, the grandmother, the nanny’s boyfriend... even Rose. But the real question is, is the person she’s trying to protect the one she needs protection from?
What I loved most was the way Pekkanen builds the tension. While the twists might not be mind-blowing, they are perfectly placed to keep you on edge. It’s a who-done-it mystery at its core, and the pacing is spot-on, making it a perfect choice for fans of character-driven thrillers. The book is less about shocking revelations and more about the characters and their complex relationships. Stella, in particular, is such a fascinating protagonist. I wasn’t familiar with the role of a Best Interest Attorney before reading this, but it’s so compelling and adds a unique layer to the story.
If you’re into atmospheric thrillers that focus on the characters as much as the mystery, this one is definitely worth checking out.

OMG this was a wild read, and I was totally here for it! Sarah Pekkanen does not disappoint with this book. She is now on my always-read list and am adding all of her books to my TBR! I can't wait to see what she writes next.

I absolutely loved Gone Tonight so couldn’t wait to read House of Glass as well! While this one was a bit more of a slow burn, each chapter continued to keep me guessing. Overall a fun mystery.

4.5 stars. Thanks to Netgalley for the E-ARC. This is not the first time I read a book written by this author and it definitely wont be the last. Stella is working on a case where she has to observe and decide who a little girl Rose has to live with the mother or the father because they are going thru a divorce. The twist were twisting and the surprises were surprising me. This book was just so good and it kept me on my toes the whole book. I low key hope that this is a series because it was that good and I would like to keep reading about Stella.

Sarah Pekkanen does it again! This book is an absolute masterpiece that kept me captivated from start to finish! Pekkanen’s talent for weaving an intricate, suspenseful plot shines brilliantly in this novel. The story masterfully balances psychological tension with deep emotional resonance, creating a page-turner that is both thrilling and thought-provoking.
The characters are beautifully developed, their flaws and complexities adding layers of depth that make them feel achingly real. The setting—a stunning glass house with its eerie transparency and hidden secrets—serves as the perfect backdrop for the unfolding drama.
Pekkanen's writing is sharp and evocative, pulling you into the story with vivid descriptions and twists that leave you breathless. Just when I thought I had figured it out, the plot surprised me again and again. The themes of trust, betrayal, and resilience are explored with such nuance that they linger long after the final page.
This is a must-read for fans of psychological thrillers and anyone who loves a story that keeps you guessing while tugging at your heartstrings. I couldn't put it down and can't recommend it highly enough!
