Man I would have killed to have a book like this as a teen. So many teens can relate to Jay's story and coming of age journey. Within the first 50 pages I already knew a handful of teens I want to give this book to.

I'm not normally a contemporary/realistic fiction fan but this book grabbed me in the first 40 pages and was almost impossible to put down

Really sweet, fun, and relatable book. Unfortunately, the characters weren't very likeable, which impacted my experience as a reader.

A solid read. We have one character figuring herself out and the other hyper focused on what she feels like is her only way out. We see their not-quite parallel experiences, how both are oppressive but not the same. Their journeys colliding in ways that aren't always positive. This is certainly interesting and it allows their relationship to be complex and messy. It's not entirely likeable, but you can take a lot of meaning from it.
