I still need to read this whole series, I read volume 1 last year and was very much charmed by the manga. However I haven't had the time to continue on. So imagine my delight when I saw this book pop up on Netgalley! I just love cooking. I love the original series. I needed this one! 

In this delightful and yummy manga we have 10 chapters with each of them a recipe! And you will get hungry! Plus, while some basic knowledge of the world/characters is handy, you don't need to know all of the ins and outs, so even for me a girl who just read one volume, it is fine! And that made me happy! I loved that it wasn't just Qifrey who was making food, we also see Olruggio making some delicious snacks, and one or two times get to see the girls make something or help along. The cooking was a lot of fun to watch, it definitely was magical next to very yummy. I loved seeing these two guys experiment with foods, make something fab for the girls (or for themselves in the case of when they got drunk on cocktails, haha). The recipes aren't even that hard for most. OK, some require a bit more technique, but for most it is easy to follow along. I was looking forward to each new recipe + also see them travel at times to get stuff.

Plus, the reactions to the food, mostly the girls who got some yummy breakfast/lunch/dinner was just so adorable and fun. That really makes a cooking manga perfect for me. Seeing the reactions of those for who the food is made. 

It was also fun getting to know the characters a bit more, see their relationships, see their likes and dislikes. 

And I just love the art! It is such a fun and pretty style~

On that note, I was kinda like, yeah, these recipes are great but we don't really have honeytree nectar, or blaze beans, or prism lemons (though I would want one). Thankfully, at the end of this volume there are real life substitutes that you can replace the Witch Hat Atelier world foods with. So now you can actually make all these recipes and BOY I am going to be trying some of them out. My stomach is already hungry. Or that may be because it is almost lunch time when I write this, haha. 

So all in all, I really enjoyed this one and had oodles of fun with it! I hope that there will be many more volumes of this one with fun stories + recipes. I would recommend it to all!

I love cosy fantasy, and this manga was particularly satisfying to read because of its lovely and detailed art style. The magical recipes at the end of each chapter were a nice addition as well.

The detailed cooking segments and overall atmosphere reminded me of Ghibli films and 'Legends and Lattes' by Travis Baldree, so if you like those you might enjoy this manga.

I absolutely enjoyed reading this manga. The illustrations, the art looks good and the story is fun to read. There’s less to no unnecessary drama and thank the author for no unwelcome romance in the first volume.

If you are someone who loves reading about food/cooking with some witchy content, you will absolutely adore this manga. The characters (both adult and younger ones) are genuinely amazing. Looking forward for the next volume!

I have not read the original series but after reading this I want to. This is literally a cookbook and it is adorable how they make it witchy.

I felt that despite not knowing background information about any of the characters or their situation, I didn't need to know. The recipes looked tasty while they were being made and the fact that after each cooking focus, there is a recipe attached to it for readers.

I loved this book and highly recommend it for those that love manga but specifically cooking mangas.

This book should come with some yummies. Spinoff of Witch Hat Atelier with the same characters and same attitudes but with food. You need fuel when training to be a witch. Adore the opportunities the young witches are involved with the cooking. Recipes are included with each meal. Suggestions are made for items that might not be readily available. VERDICT No romance or violence makes this suitable for all. Especially welcome with audiences that enjoy cooking and manga.

Shockingly good for a cookbook, though I shouldn't be surprised.

This isn't just a plain cookbook with some splash pages of character art here and there as you browse through recipes. Witch Hat Atelier Kitchen uses the characters to great effect, essentially creating a little slice of life volume with the characters we already love as they cook and bake and create gorgeous looking food. Most of the fantasy ingredients have real world versions, and the recipes look delicious.

Shirahama's art is astounding, as always - no surprise there.

What a cute cookbook! I didn’t know the series but loved the idea of reading a witches cookbook, I liked the mixing of comic strips with recipes that can be converted to non-magical household ingredients and the book seemed perfect for adults and children alike,

A really charming book -- it's more recipe book with explicit instructions in the characters' voices rather than individual stories involving food that incidentally have recipes, but there's a lot of little heartfelt moments between the characters anyway.

Very cute! I'm up to I think around 8 of the regular series and was pleased that this didn't spoil anything. Nice cosy vibes, and beautiful art as with the rest of the series.

Would have loved for the 'real world' ingredients to be called out on the same page as the actual recipes. Could also have gone for more vegetarian recipes, and/or more which were less involved/more snacky.

Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful. Such a creative delight to read and enjoy! I'm a huge fan of Witch Hat Atelier and this is the perfect companion to the series. Loved it!

This manga actually surprised when I looked into this, and it looked quite interesting so I read the book and it was so much better and so much more interesting than what I thought it was going to be, and when I looked on Goodreads I saw that there is a whole entire other series. That’s also based off of this and also that there’s more bucks so I will hundred percent be reading more of the series and more books from this author as I thought this mango was absolutely beautiful and stunning and I would 100% be reading more in the future of the characters were like a ball. The children were fun. I think the relationship between the two main male leads was cool. I also generally loved the food aspect of the series which is what made me fall in love I love the arse LOL it was amazing, and just had like a really cosy home feel

This book is the cutest thing I’ve read in a long time!

This manga is a slice of life set in the world of Witch Hat Atelier and featuring some amazing recipes. I love when anime and manga include cooking into the store and I loved reading the stories as well as learning some new recipes to try.

The art style is consistent and lovely. The characters all stand out but mesh well together. The recipes featured are included at the end of each chapter and are well written.

I hope more manga start doing this! Manga mixed with recipes and cooking is a perfect mix!

I loved the way this was written!! it's a fun little cookbook but manga style and I think that's just such a genius idea.

Hopefully one day I'll be brave enough to tackle one of the recipes in here!

Comfy, cozy and most of all, making me very hungry, Witch Hat Atelier Kitchen is the perfect companion read for fellow Witch Hat Atelier fans like me! I just enjoyed the story and snippets behind my two fave witch dads, Qifrey and Olruggio creating meals for their apprentices (read: daughters!!), Coco, Agott, Richeh and Tetia! The wonderdul worldbuiding of the series shines through the story especially in the ingredients of each meal featured along with the devices. The recipes and suggestions that are from our world are very helpful and encourages you to try a hand at replicating each dish -- I got my eye particularly on the soups, perfect as we approach colder months! Each dish is also accompanied by a little slice of life moment with the atelier's residents and truly encapsulates the adage that food is a love language and it fosters community, solidarity and love. Highly recommended read for those familiar with the Witch Hat Atelier series, and to those who aren't familiar, pick up this wonderful story and immerse yourself in the magical world of spells, witches and magic!

Unlike an other reviewer, I'm a manga aficionado but a cooking neophyte !
I'm very bad at cooking (although I do love to eat), and naively thought I would be able to fully enjoy that manga. Shame on me for that to be honest, loving eating is NOT the same as loving cooking ! I can't put a zero star though, as even a worm like me can understand how much the author tended for their recipes and the culinary details (and there's a lot of it). The art style is a classic manga style, not too much exceptional but agreeable nonetheless, and as always, lot of details on the food to make the reader salivate.

I will put a three just because of it. You can sense that it was created with great passion, and it can be the favorite manga for a certain type of people even if it's not for me.

I really like the idea of a manga cookbook hybrid but i didn’t really connect with the story aspect of this manga. i feel like this is a stellar choice for fans of the original content but since ive never read the original content the story elements felt flat to me.

This for fans of Witch Hat Atelier who also love cooking. The focus os on Qifrey and Olruggio who prepare meals for the next day whilst the girls sleep. Each chapter focuses on a recipe, which has magical ingredients than have normal substitutes like flying shrimp, chrysanthemonions, and citrus fruits. The recipes are at the end of each chapter and the end of the book explains what the normal foods are.

I’m a cookbook aficionado, yet a Manga neophyte, so when the opportunity to read “Witch Hat Atelier Kitchen 1” by Hiromi Sato (and his creative design workshop team) became available for review, I jumped at the chance because checking-out new recipes while learning about a pop culture art-form satisfied me on multiple levels.

The illustrations throughout the comic book are brilliant and beautifully executed. Furthermore, most of the recipes designed for a youthful cooking audience sound delicious, nutritious and easy to prepare. Dialogue in the comic/manga sections is perhaps a tad weak; however, overall, this is a terrific beginner’s cookbook for all the little Harry Potter fans out there who want to whip-up more than mischief.

One of my favorite recipes for kids in the Kitchen Manga cookbook is a “Fluffy, Cheesy Egg Melt.” What’s ingenious about this simple grilled scrambled egg and cheese sandwich is that whole loaf bread is used. A thick slice is cut from the loaf, then a chunk is hollowed out of its side where the scrambled egg and cheese are stuffed into before toasting. This makes a delicious sandwich that doesn’t leak out it’s yummy filling.

I really liked the art of the book and the characters. They are super adorable and cute.
It was super fun to have the recipes with a magical touch. And the recipes are spectacular, from soups, sandwiches, main dishes and even drinks.
I really enjoyed reading the book. And I want to try some of the recipes.
