Good light read. The characters were believable if a little overdone (both lead characters are carrying too much baggage). I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves romance novels.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC.

I went into this book thinking it was going to be a fun simple romcom but it was so much more than that & i’m so glad it was! I’ve been sitting on this book for a couple of days because i wasn’t sure what i wanted to rate it. After sitting on it i keep thinking of how much i really loved this book. Going based on the cover you would think this is a romcom but it’s really women’s fiction with a side of romance, which is my favorite kind of romance to read!!

This book had it all! It had theee dimensional characters who had me both rooting for them & also yelling at them in my head to get their shit together already! especially the fmc👀 but ultimately i love them anyway. The author had a really good balance of the character development & the relationship. I was rooting for both of them at the end of the book to not only have their happy ending together but also individually, & that’s all i can ask for in a story.

Definitely go pick up this book you won’t regret it!

If I were to finish it I would probably give it a flat 3 stars because it is just not that engaging. I feel like the characters are well written but the plot is lackluster. I am over a third of the way into the book and nothing exciting has happened. Many superfluous scenes just did not need to be included. Such as the first time they went to dinner, he texts his kid, she orders for them both, he says it's good, and then it is literally over. Why did we have to be there for the lackluster meal?

This book needed a much harsher editor to help it get to the point more efficiently.

Frequent Fliers by Noué Kirwan
.
Lanie’s favorite cousin is getting married…..to Lanie’s lifelong crush. They ask Lanie to be a part of the wedding, which is fine, she can totally help out. Traveling back and forth for wedding planning, Lanie keeps running into a handsome doctor, Ridley, who travels frequently for work.
.
What I liked:
-I loved this idea of frequent fliers sparking a romance.
-I was righteously furious for Lanie and was “Team Lanie” all the way when it came to her family.
-I loved that Ridley was a single dad and had a bit of a challenging situation going on.
-The ending was really good and I loved all the good conversations that happened between lots of people.
.
4⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This romance had a lot of heart and a surprising amount of emotions!

One of the things I enjoyed most about this book was how realistic the dynamic felt between Lainey and her family, as well as with Ridley.
The author did such a wonderful job on building Lainey's character. There were some times that I got frustrated with her thought process but as a person with anxiety it was clear as day that the reactions are so relatable.

Frequent Fliers was a book I knew I needed just by the blurb "Catch flights. Not feelings." Flight attendants say this daily LOL. Lainey our FMC is from the Bronx and is traveling to and from London for her cousin's wedding. To a man that was her best friend, who she was head over heels for. Drama and I loved it.

Her first flight is when she meets Ridley. This very handsome, put together, prestigious asshole after he rudely passed by her to get to the gate. He ends up being her seat mate. Ridley is a widower, and single father with his own at home drama. He's flying to and from NY for his work.
Honestly I think Ridley's character was pretty spot on for a widow. Seeing my mom go through this, it was something deeper that I understood. The relationship between him and his daughter Beatrix is different than you'd expect. It was refreshing to see this man be everything for his daughter and in turn showing Lainey the type of man he is.

I highly recommend this romance. There is some heavy themes of grief, abandonment, and self reflection. The plus size rep, anxiety rep and the the story was wrapped up so nicely.

I liked this book, but it didn't really pull me in the way that I thought it would. I will say that the book had quite a lot of family baggage so if you're not in the mood for that they don't read. Both the main characters were good and I think I connected more with Lanie. I loved their first meeting and that's what probably pulled me in a little bit.

Frequent Fliers by Noué Kirwan
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ / Pages: 415 / Genre: Romance

Lanie and Ridley meet on a flight from NYC to London. Perpetually single Lanie is on her way to feign happiness at an engagement party for her cousin and her lifelong crush. Widower and single father Ridley is working on a big work project in the Big Apple, his daughter always on his mind. Both projects have them flying back and forth for the next few months, giving them good reasons to see each other in both places. The grumpy-sunshine dynamic gives way to a slow-burn scenario and ignites into a super spicy inferno.

While Lanie does have that woe-is-me mindset and is often wallowing in self-pity, she didn’t get on my nerves as other characters have in this scenario. Maybe because it’s not all in her head. Some of her family members really do dump on her and she has good reason to feel as she does. And I really liked Ridley. Adorably awkward and out of dating practice, he’s hot without even trying. A decent romcom worth reading.

Thank you, @NetGalley, @htp_hive, and @harlequinbooks for my gifted copy.

I stopped reading at 25%. The descriptions of the characters felt objectifying and I didn't like the rudeness of the male main character, excuses or not. I also did not enjoy the direction the relationships were going — is Lanie still in love with best friend Jonah, who is currently engaged to her cousin (not a fun trope for me), or is she interested in Ridley? I don't feel like it can be both, but that was the vibe of the first quarter of the book, and I just did not care enough to continue.

Frequent Fliers by Noué Kirwan

Rating: 4/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Lanie and Ridley have a harsh first meeting while boarding a flight from New York City to London.

She’s based in New York and is traveling to London to help her cousin plan her wedding. He’s based in London and is often in New York for work.

She works for a university and is considering going back for her phd and he’s a widowed doctor with a preteen daughter.

I understand the “frequent fliers” concept but Lanie flying back and forth to London so often seemed…. Like a lot? Sorry to any of my own cousins reading this but my bank account would never 🤣 and her cousin was awfullllll!

This was the ultimate slow burn which is enjoyed but it was pretty spicy once it was that time 🥵🥵

I feel like Lanie really grew throughout the book which I appreciated. For whatever reason it seemed like her family around her thought down on her and I liked seeing her prove them wrong.

Thanks to #netgalley, the publisher and the author for this e-arc! It’s out now!!

DNF @ 25%

I was really looking forward to reading Frequent Fliers because the premise sounded so good; two people meet at the airport, are seatmates, and then fall in love over a series of flights, yes please! But as I started reading, something felt flat, making it hard to engage and continue reading. I’m sad that this one did not work out for me.

A wonderful novel that dealt with people meeting on a place, but this one takes it further and feels more authentic. Lanie is flying between New York and London to help her cousin plan her wedding. Ridley is flying between London and New York for business. They end up meeting on the flight and then seeing each other multiple times on flights or at the airport. They both have a lot of (figurative) baggage to get through before they are ready for a relationship, but they can't seem to quit thinking about each other.

The first half is very sweet and PG, then BOOM! It gets spicy. So be ready for it.

This book combines the joy and angst of family, friends and the thought that love conquers all. Definitely worth a read.
Thank you to NetGalley, the author and publisher for a change to read it. This is my honest review.

Frequent Fliers" by Noué Kirwan didn't quite sit right with me about this book, but I can't quite put my finger on it at the moment. It felt like there was a lack of development in the relationship between the characters Melanie and Ridley. It seemed to go from them just being "plane buddies" to suddenly being in love with very little in between. Unfortunately, I didn't end up finishing the book this time stopping around the 45% mark. I might consider revisiting it later, but for now, it remains as a DNF.

Contemporary Romance

London & New York City – Present Day

Lanie Turner has an incomplete life. She hasn’t completed her PhD, she has a job she is lukewarm about, and a crush on her childhood friend—who happens to now be engaged to Lanie’s cousin. She is headed on a plane to London for a reunion with her family and her seatmate happens to not only be annoying, but handsome. After trying to get her point across to him that he is a pain in the rear, she soon discovers that he is charming. By the time the plane lands, she finds out his name is Dr. Ridley Aronsen. Lanie figures she will never see him again, yet on her return flight, there he is on the same flight. It is all a coincidence, but it leads them to start chatting as they are becoming friends.

Over the course of several months in FREQUENT FLIERS, Lanie and Ridley run into each other, to where they finally exchange the dates when they will be flying. She learns that he is a widowed father of a teenager and that he does medical research, which requires him to work between London (where he lives) and New York City. Lanie has been roped in by her cousin, Gemma, and her fiancé, Jonah, to be their maid of honor/best person. Lanie is also helping to plan the wedding and is coerced by Gemma to be present at things such as choosing the cake. Meanwhile, she feels some resentment because the thing between her and Jonah never went beyond one night in bed together. But maybe it turns out to be fate since Ridley seems to be the kind of guy who really excites her.

Ridley is in a tenuous position with his daughter, Beatrix. He is not really her father but has raised her since her birth. Hovering in the background is Beatrix’s real father, who basically gave up his rights before she was born. But the man now wants to fight Ridley for custody. He is also dealing with issues in his research, which is why he has to keep flying to New York City. The one bright spot in his life (besides Beatrix) is seeing Lanie. They get along but he must be careful because this is the first time he has dated anyone since he lost his wife. How will Beatrix react to a woman in his life?

FREQUENT FLIERS is filled with emotion as Lanie and Ridley navigate their rocky relationship. It starts out slowly, but it’s clear they are attracted to each other. Even as they deny to their family and friends that there is something more going on between them, the harder it is to stay apart. Things will finally come to a head late in this tale, which means someone is going to get hurt. Will they work things out? Ridley’s home is in London while Lanie lives in New York City. Will she get a chance to complete her life finally? Will they find that elusive happily ever after by the end of FREQUENT FLIERS? Pick up a copy to find out.

When I first saw this book, I thought it would be a perfect book for me. However, I struggled to get through this. Lanie and Ridley didn’t keep my attention. Most of all, I’m not a fan of Lanie allowing her family to run all over her. The relationship between Lanie and Ridley was just okay. I do like that we get to see both of their POVs, but it wasn’t enough to make me love this book. However, this book could be perfect for someone who loves slow burn and messy drama! It’s a cute book, but I hate that I couldn’t enjoy it more. Thank you to Net Galley and the publisher for allowing me to read the eARC in exchange for an honest review.

Laine and Ridley first meet when they are seated next to each other on a flight from New York to London. Over the next few months, they continue to run into each other by coincidence and on purpose. What will happen when their international travels come to an end? Will they take a chance to be together even though they live on opposite sides of the pond?

Frequent Fliers is an emotional journey of Laine and Ridley’s transition from seatmates to lovers. Both Lainey and Ridley have complicated family issues (and a little bit of drama) to work through in addition to the challenge of trying to make a long-distance relationship work. I enjoyed seeing their relationship grow from strangers to friends to lovers. It slowly builds through dates, flights, texts, and phone calls. I found myself engrossed in Laine and Ridley’s story and cheering for them to find a way to be together. And, I really enjoyed Ridley’s daughter!

If you enjoy books with wonderful characters, a compelling story with realistic challenges, and a slow burn romance, then Frequent Fliers is for you!

This charming contemporary romance unfolds unexpectedly when a widowed father and a woman caught in a complicated love triangle meet on a flight. Their connection deepens as they navigate parenthood, wedding planning, and the complexities of their own hearts. While the middle of the book slowed down a bit, the engaging side characters and the slow-burn romance kept me invested. A delightful read for fans of heartwarming love stories.

as someone who is afraid of flights this romance would actually be my worst nightmare...

these characters were fun to read about in their lives and we get to see them falling in love which is lovely. both lanie and ridley have lots of stuff going on so the romance is slow to form. i think that if this story showed more of how they were a couple after falling in love, more of them together, i would have liked it more but this was still a cute read. i really enjoyed the unique meet cute though!

I really enjoyed this! Thank you so much Netgalley and Harlequin for the ARC. I did think it was going to be a rom com based on the description and the cover but it was a contemporary romance read. Lainey was a great FMC, and so was Ridley. Hot, widowed, grumpy, doctor/single dad. Lainey and Ridleys paths collide when she is on her way to assist with her cousin and best guy friend/crushes wedding. It definitely had a lot of deep themes, and brought up a lot of emotions for me when reading! The storyline was good. The pacing was fast and keeps you invested. There was also a spash of some spice thrown in which was nice! I felt for Lainey throughout the book. It was cute how they met on the plane. A slowburn, rivalry friends to lovers. This was a great read!

Not exactly my cup of tea. I really wanted to like it, but it didn't get me hooked. Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for this advanced reader copy.

Single dad Ridley meets Lanie on a flight which results in the ultimate meet cute for these frequent fliers. Lanie and Ridley have these pockets of time together on these flights and make an effort to see each other in their respective cities. I loved that there was effort put into their relationship by both of them and it wasn’t a one sided pining situation. I loved the Ridley’s daughter embraces Lanie upon meeting her and doesn’t put Lanie through the ugly step mother vibes. This was a super cute read that briefly touches spousal loss. I loved Ridley’s love for his daughter and his constant desire to show her that she is his number one priority throughout the book. This was a new to me author and I will definitely be checking out other works. Thanks to the publisher, author, and NetGalley for the free eARC.
