I'm sorry but I tried so many times to like this book but I almost hated it.
First the glaringly obvious reason was their first meeting. They spend nearly 8 hrs next to each other on a plane talking and nowhere in those hours did they talk family?? Like she's so surprised he had a wedding ring on? You didn't see it or ask if he had a wife? Kids? No talking about stuff that people usually talk about right away. 🙄
Also, this dude sounds like a dman robot ..he talks so stilted and robotic.
No chemistry between these two whatsoever. The sex scenes are stiff and weird not in a good way.
I just didn't like it.

Although this book started off really slow, it picked up right around the middle of the story and I actually enjoyed it. I must say, the best part of the book was the ending, and that’s why I couldn’t give it more than 3 stars. It is a fun and easy read, but it sometimes felt like there was “too much” going on with the characters (in terms of baggage) and too little with the actual plot. Would I still reccommend it if a friend liked to read romance? Yes, I would.

This book is quite unique there aren’t many traveling romances that are done the right way. This book uses People of colour and single parent romance very well. This is a book that can be said to want to read for the first time again. Would love to have a physical copy really love it.

Lanie is flying back and forth helping her best friend get married to her former crush and Ridley is traveling for work while trying to juggle being a single father.

I really liked the premise of this book. Unfortunately, I struggled to get into the book. The book had two main story lines tied together by the main character but I felt there were some holes in how the two plots tied together. I did enjoy some of the banter and character development between Lanie and Ridley.

Thank you Net Galley for this arc! Truthfully I was a little unsure of this book early on. I cringed when Lanie called her mom Mommy and I just didn't enjoy the pacing of the first half of the book. That being said I stayed up to read the second half until 1am. I wish some of the drama from the second half could've been added in earlier to get me engrossed in the book sooner. I do think it was a good read overall and enjoyed how diverse the book was.

A delectable story of a relationship that develops between seatmates who fly to London. An uncomfortable meeting on a flight moves on to an enjoyable time of conversation. When they find themselves again on another flight, they become seat mates on purpose. Their relationship progresses, however messy things are in their separate lives.

I wanted to love this book but the family dynamics I just couldn’t get over. I, enjoy supportive family and friends and I hate she had to deal with that. The love story overall.

i like this one. it moves slow. the main character isn't completely likable but I grew to like her.
I think there were a lot of things to love about the love interests. such a good father.

This book was such an interesting and fun read! We follow Lanie Turner as she takes frequent flights between NYC and London and watch as she develops a relationship with one Dr. Ridley all while trying to help her cousin, Gemma, plan her wedding to Jonah--her long time boy-next-door crush.

Yeah, messy, I know. It makes for such an interesting subplot amongst the development of her relationship with Ridley. I won't spoil it for future readers but we get a closer view of her relationship with Gemma, as well as unpack what appears to be generational trauma in the Turner family. I felt like this aspect was pretty well portrayed, albeit handled a bit quicker than I thought it would be near the end. We also get to see her rekindle her friendship with both Gemma and Jonah as time goes on, which was honestly heartwarming to see.

Regarding the romance, it was nice. At first, I couldn't help but get second-hand embarrassment from Lanie's words and actions but over time we see just how flawed as a character she is and how she overcomes the obstacles in her way and develops as a person. We see how Ridley and Lanie help each other get the courage to be better and to develop as a person that is able to put aside their negative feelings for someone in order to support the people they love. It's very sweet and the disagreements and banter we see were quite realistic and tastefully done.

Ridley, I found, was much harder to like that Lanie. He was hot and cold at times that didn't seem very consistent with how the author had previously established him to be as a person. I think what made it jarring was how he'd shut down and be blunt when it comes to small things/changes but be okay with much bigger changes. He's flawed but it feels a little less consistent that with Lanie's.

I was taken aback by the spice since I hadn't been expecting it but I quite enjoyed it. Some descriptions made me genuinely laugh and took me out of the book at times like "Diamond hard" or "potent sex potion" but it wasn't so bad that the smut wasn't enjoyable to read.

Lastly, I want to address the relationship with Gemma and Lanie. I really liked that we get to see a resolution that was satisfying regarding their relationship, but that it wasn't an "easy and done" resolution. They both struggled to overcome the trauma they were both handed individually

All in all, I give this book a 3.5 stars which I rounded up to 4.

Frequent Flyers was a good read. The characters were well written and nuanced. The main arc is both the main characters learning to trust each other enough to love (again). I was a little uncomfortable about Lanie’s situation (I wanted her to stand up for herself), but I also felt like it was relatable that she didn’t. I like both Lanie and Ridley, but I loved his daughter. Overall it was a nice heartfelt modern love story. (I received and ARC)

Good story and loved the characters and their love story. Some aspects of the story fell flat for me. One being that the FMC didn’t speak her mind until the last 10% of the book which was a little disheartening. I was also disappointed by her family having such nasty things to say to her and not being apologetic until the end. I did enjoy how much her Grams fed into her. I wish we had more of Dash in the book. Overall I enjoyed my read!

i absolutely adored this book. lanie was such a relatable character and i truly felt for her the entire time. and ridley oh ridley. i could cry just thinking about him. noué did an excellent job showcasing the struggles of a widow re navigating not only their life, but their love life as well. it was handled with such care and respect. what ridley and both bea felt about a new woman in their life was completely valid.

Although this book started out slow, I did enjoy it. It is the love story between Melanie (an American living in NYC) and slightly older Ridley (an American who has become a citizen of England). They meet (on several occasions) when Melanie is flying to England to help with her cousin's wedding (to Melanie's best friend) and Ridley is flying to NYC for work. Part of the reason that I enjoyed this book is because it was not cookie cutter. Melanie is dealing with her insecurities with her love life and her academic career while Ridley is dealing with dating after the death of a spouse (while raising a daughter). Throughout the story readers discover why they are both hesitant about starting a romantic relationship and how they overcome these obstacles. Don't worry. There is a happy ending.

3.5 ⭐️ rounded up.

I liked this book but the fact that it took me nearly two weeks to read means that it didn’t enthral me and pull me in the way that some other book have. I usually blow through books in few days.

I did like both the main characters and the premise, but it felt long. There was a LOT of family baggage on both sides. And the massive blow up between the FMC and her cousin just before the cousin’s wedding should have had way more fall out to be believable.

One last thing… the formatting was really bad… random spaces where there should not be any in some places and spaces seemingly missing in others made it sort of disjointed but since this was an ARC, that didn’t figure into my actual rating. It may, however, have interfered with my enjoyment just a tad.

I had the opportunity to review Frequent Fliers by Noue Kirwan. This is a rom-com style story about Lanie and Ridley about how they meet on an airplane and continually run into each other over the course of months. Lanie is helping out her cousin who is getting married to her old crush after them getting close during Covid. Ridley is a widower who is raising. a teenager daughter and a doctor. They are both flying back and forth between New York and London, finding themselves and falling for each other.

This was a cute story and I did enjoy the book. I wished there was more of the rom-com side to it. It was more of a telling each characters side of the story and then they would meet in the middle. It was a slow burn but then it did feel a bit rushed at the end. I really did not enjoy how her family treated her, considering when you find out more about what went down between the her and the fiance. I did like how both main characters had to dig deep to find that they have to work through their emotions to fight for what they love. Otherwise, it was a good read. 3.5 stars.

This was a cute book about how love, romantic and platonic, and be lost and found again, so long as you open your heart to it. The author does a great job of reminding readers that love doesn't always fall into your lap in the most idealistic of ways - fate might bring you together, but you still have to fight for what you want.

The slow-burn angst delivered wasn't bad; it's just not what I expected. I will say I was expecting much more travel rom-com with fluffy moments in the air, laughing over nothing, eating the most questionable meals, and maybe even a mile high scene of sorts.

I did enjoy the characters and found myself relating quite a bit to Lanie (abandoned by a parent, never a priority, always overlooked, etc.), but the ending was a tidbit too rushed for me. I would've loved to see more between the 18 months to see Ridley, Lanie, and Bea becoming a family rather than being told that everything worked out.

The last line of the book though... I love when the title comes into play!!

This was not what I was expecting from the description. I found it very hard to get into and can't say I liked a single character. The dual POV didn't work for me either. I felt there wasn't enough time together for Lanie and Ridley and therefore felt no chemistry between them. I kept putting this down and it was a struggle to get back to it. This ended up a DNF at about 30%.

Very cute story I could relate to. I feel like Lanie sometimes. Unloved, never picked first, always overlooked… glad she had a better outcome than I ever have.

Wow! I cannot wait to read more Noué Kirwan! This is a slow burn romance, just the way I like it. I find that most contemporary romance tends to be hyper-focused on smut, and not much on plot or storytelling. I found the story immensely entertaining. The tension between the main characters was palpable, and their relationship did not seem rushed. The banter between Lanie and Ridley was also amazing. I often find banter in contemporary romance so cringe and will DNF because of it. Their little back and forths wee filled with witty banter, and lots of sarcasm that I could appreciate. I cannot recommend this book enough!!

This is honestly one of the best books I e read in so long! Frequent fliers is cute, sexy, and heartwarming. The way Noué Kirwan writes is captivating! I was instantly connected to the characters and storyline. I felt like I was right there in the story. This book constantly had be gasping in shock and squealing from! I had so much fun reading this book and look forward to reading more from Noué Kirwan!
