Theo Baxter is a new author for me, but one I will look out for in future. This story was gripping, tense and claustrophobic with twists galore.Highly recommended

Mic drop...

What was that? Theo Baxter, you sure do know how to tell a story.

It's Your Turn Now, is packed with secrets, lies, and deceit. There were so many twists that by the time I regained my composure from one, I had whiplash from the next coming straight at me.

This was my first book by Baxter but I can guarantee it won't be my last.

Check out this teaser :

Daisy is desperate to escape her husband. But has she made a deal with the devil?

Daisy Costigan is desperate to leave her violent, controlling husband, Bruce. But she knows he’ll never let her go. And if she tries to escape, he’s promised he’ll do whatever it takes to track her down and have his revenge. She’s trapped.

One day Daisy meets a charming stranger in a bookstore. His name is Marco and he overhears Daisy’s terrified phone conversation with controller Bruce.

Marco makes Daisy an offer. He’ll take care of Bruce if she’ll help him with a little problem - his wife.

Daisy doesn’t really think he’s serious, but two days later Bruce is dead. And now Marco wants her to hold up her end of the deal. If she doesn’t, he says he’ll kill someone she loves.

Stalked by the unhinged Marco, Daisy finds herself in an impossible situation. Can she find a way to escape this terrifying man? Or will she be forced to do the unthinkable?

Daisy is married to Bruce and has been for 10 years however it’s far from the perfect marriage. Bruce is controlling, abusive, domineering husband who holds significant sway over the town (he’s the Mayors son) and runs Daisy’s life. She cannot do anything without his permission. Daisy is desperate to leave her husband, but has no idea how. Enter Marco. While browsing a bookstore, she encounters Marco, he hears Daisy on the phone to Bruce and becomes concerned. He offers his help to Daisy and says he will help Daisy out with Bruce, on the condition she does something in return. She does not automatically take him up on his offer, but after several abusive episodes, she sees no other way out. Marco executes his end of the bargain with chilling precision, now leaving Daisy with a dilemma, can she fulfill her end of the deal? Twists, turns, drama and a nice-slow-burn.
My only complaint is that I wanted a little more. Daisy’s mood swing and sudden entitlement left a bad taste in my mouth.
Nice short chapters that kept the story propelling forward.

A brilliant read. I loved Daisy and was rooting for her. At first I wasn't sure about Marco I didn't trust him. I really dispised Bruce. I did like Daniel. Twisty gripping and tense. 5*.

A bit of a slow burn but the tension is so well built and the storyline is sheer genius! Yet another must read

Daisy is married to Bruce and has been for 10 years however it’s far from the perfect marriage. Bruce is controlling, abusive and runs Daisys life. She cannot do anything without his permission. Daisy is desperate to leave Bruce but knows she doesn’t have a hope in hell.

Whilst in a book shop Daisy meets Marco. He over heard Daisy on the phone to Bruce and becomes concerned. He offers his help to Daisy and says he will help Daisy out with Bruce, on the condition she does something in return.

True to his word Marco kills Bruce just a few days after their chance meeting. Daisy is finally free, that is until she realises Marco wants her to kill his wife. Just as Daisy has escaped one abusive and controlling man she walks straight into the arms of another, but how will she get herself out of this mess on this occasion?

I really Love Theo Baxter’s work annd have read many of his books. I did enjoy reading It’s your turn now. There were many twists and turns throughout this book which kept things interesting for the reader, however at times I also found it could be quite predictable and a little repetitive. I loved the short chapters which I felt increased the pace of the book and I found it very easy to read.

Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher and the author for an advance copy of this book in exchange for this review.

I throughly enjoyed reading this book, it’s got plenty of suspense all the way through. The twists and turns keep you on the edge of your seat. I didn’t want it to end. The characters were good, the story itself was great and the style of writing was perfect. This is the first book that I have read by this author.. and it’s definitely not the last. I would highly recommend this to anyone who likes reading psychological thrillers.

Literally could not put this book down. I was on the edge of my seat at times. Fantastic! Love this author!

I opted to read this book based on the description and the title as I’d never heard about the author before.

I found the book easy to read and flowed in a way which kept me reading to find out more. I was very excited for the plot and what was going to happen but I felt that at times a lot of Daisy’s POV was repetitive and didn’t help in progressing the plot any further than what I’d already read.

As the plot did thicken, I felt some parts of the story were unbelievable and just wouldn’t happen in real life. This was a little off putting as I like thrillers to be as real life as possible! I wasn’t expecting the plot to end how it did as I had already made up my own mind how it was going to end so was slightly shocked!

Would read more by this author. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was a rather interesting book idea. I really enjoyed it and was suprised how it played out. The only downfall was I was waiting for some big twsit at the end and it never came! The ending was good, I just felt like it was lacking a little something else.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Theo Baxter has penned a gripping tale in this book, and I'm thrilled to say it's the first I've read by him, but certainly not the last! The eerie concept reminds us that sometimes, the devil we know is better than the one we don't.

Our protagonist, Daisy, is ensnared in a suffocating marriage, with an abusive, domineering husband who holds significant sway over the town. As she grapples with her seemingly inescapable situation, a chance encounter with a stranger named Marco in a bookstore brings her a glimmer of hope. Marco proposes a quid pro quo – he will handle Daisy's issue if she deals with his. But after Marco executes his end of the bargain with chilling precision, Daisy is left in a dilemma. The ensuing story is filled with unexpected twists and turns!

A heartfelt thank you to NetGalley and Inkubator Books for providing me with an ARC. This is an unbiased and heartfelt review. 📚🙌

It’s Your Turn Now is definitely a different triller than most. There were times I was disgusted with Daisy, the main character but by the end she toughened up to be a force to be reckoned with.

If you want someone dead do you hire it done, murder in exchange for murder or just do it yourself? You’ll have to read this book to find out.

This was a great read! I was anxious to start it because I have enjoyed other books by this author. This one did not disappoint. I was intrigued to find out how the story was going to play out. I thought I had a theory, but I was wrong. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.
