Pros: I think all sewers have a stash of fabric they don't have a project for, so I love that this book featured ways to use what we all already have. Although the projects in this book are too advanced for my skills, I think advanced sewers will have no problem following the directions and completing the projects.
Cons: This is not a con of the book but a note to readers that this is not for beginner sewers.
Thank you to NetGalley and Fox Chapel Publishing, Landauer Publishing for the opportunity to read this book.
I want to thank Netgalley and the author for gifting me the ebook.
Very easy and detailed instructions. I have been wanting to get into quilting/sewing and this is perfect for those that are into those also. The products are actually really cute and would be perfect for gifts also.
Loved it thank you so much! This book gave me lots of new ideas I can’t wait to use! I especially love the hearts idea
The projects in this book are appealing and are definitely a step-up from your usual scrap fabric creations. Intermediate and advanced crafters will find them more interesting than the same old same old. Beginners could make a mess but I’m sure, as with everything else, a few tries with some determination will result in something decent. The detailed step-by=step instructions with pictures would help a lot for sure.
Beautiful book. 5 stars.
There are some really cool and beautiful projects in this book. It is way too technical and advanced for my sewing level but it will be a great resource for experienced sewers.
I read a temporary digital copy of this book for review.
Loved this nicely illustrated book using scraps to create intermediate/advanced projects. Many lovely projects with my favorite being the Christmas gift quilt. A great resource to any quilting library.
Elevate Your Scrap Sewing Projects : 20+ Beautiful Techniques Using Your Fabric Stash is a lovely instruction book for the more advanced crafters. Although the instructions are step by step and illustrated, the techniques and projects are quite advanced and complex. Fortunately they are all quite small projects so worth having a go at. The book is beautiful to look at and the selection of materials are a delight. Overall a lovely book.
This is a fun technique book. The instructions are very in depth for trying different techniques. I like that at the berthing of the pattern it tells what techniques you will be using and each technique is one that you could use in other applications, such as twisted pleats on the front of a dress or blouse. Also each project is small enough that you aren't committing a lot of time to it.
I thoroughly enjoyed this beautiful project book! I'm now inspired to try one of these projects, but it will be difficult to choose a favorite. I especially liked the Heart Strings Pouch, the Christmas Presents Mini Quilt, and the Sallieann Flower Quilt! The crisp, clear photos and the Tools, Tips, and Basic Sewing Techniques section were both very helpful. Sallieann, your father was right; you ARE a fabric engineer!
Super cute book , wouldn’t recommend for beginners though This book is definitely for those ready to take the next step in sewing. The instructions are clear and has some patterns and show step by step on projects with pictures to show progress as you go.
