The writing felt immature, making it difficult for me to fully engage with the story. Additionally, it included a trope that I personally dislike, which further detracted from my enjoyment of the book.
Unfortunately, I didn't enjoy this book. I'm not really 100% sure why, maybe it was because the drama felt a bit over the top? I also thought it was kind of predictable and whilst the setting (the whole school in Scotland thing) was interesting, the rest of the book just fell a bit flat for me.
This was a chunky read and at times I felt it was hard going sadly. It felt a little off how it was written for me and couldn’t really get into it. The second half was definitely better.
Anywhere is a beautifully written romance that deals with themes of love, loss, and finding oneself. Sarah Sprinz crafts a touching and relatable story that will appeal to readers who enjoy character-driven romance with a strong emotional core and a dash of wanderlust.
With its heartfelt characters, touching romance, and breathtaking settings, Anywhere is a journey of healing, love, and self-discovery that will resonate deeply with readers.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for my copy of this e-arc.
I had to dnf this one, the writing seemed very young and I couldn’t get into it. The author was telling us more than showing us which I didn’t like and I felt like you could really tell it was a debut novel.
I found this so hard to get into and enjoy I wanted to love this but it didn’t I wasn’t gripped didn’t want to pick it up I don’t no what it was just found it very samey maybe this would suit a different audience
Thanks so much to Quercus, Sarah Spinz and NetGalley for the eARC, all opinions expressed are my own.
I have really mixed feelings about this book, and whilst the second half felt much more gripping and stronger than the first half, I found the story a little too long for my liking. the chemistry between Henry and Emma just didn't seem believable at times, their are also certain plot devices that I felt didn't contribute to the storyline (Henry's sister being the main culprit).
I don't think I was quite the right audience for this particular book.
I’m completely captivated by the gossip and drama unfolding at Dunbridge Academy in Sarah Sprinz's *Anywhere*. The way the story is told makes me feel like I'm 17 again, right in the middle of all the teenage excitement and intrigue. The characters are relatable and vivid, and the setting of the academy adds an enchanting backdrop that enhances the overall experience. The author has a talent for weaving a narrative that is both engaging and nostalgic, making it hard to put the book down.
The relationships and friendships are beautifully portrayed, and I found myself rooting for the characters as they navigate the ups and downs of teenage life. The twists and turns in the plot kept me on the edge of my seat, eagerly anticipating what would happen next. It's the perfect blend of romance, mystery, and coming-of-age themes.
I’m thrilled that this is just the beginning of the series and can't wait to dive into the next book, where Tori’s story promises to be just as compelling. Sarah has crafted a world that feels both familiar and new, and I’m excited to see where the story goes from here. *Anywhere* is a must-read for anyone who loves a good school drama with heart and depth.
This was purely addictive! I am so glad that book fell into my hands when it did, I did not want to put this down! I felt truly connected to both the characters and the plot, I can't wait for the next in the series.
Sweet, angsty, new-adult slow burn goodness!
Both main characters were so very lovable in this book: Emma, who takes herself to a Scottish boarding school in a search for answers and her father; and Henry, the good guy...with a lovely girlfriend.
The two meet after a frantic rush through Frankfurt airport, and the rest is history. Only it's not that simple, and life has a way of throwing obstacles in the path of love.
I devoured this book late into the night, immersing myself in the growing tension and emotions between the pair. Love, Love, Love!
This book was the book of my teenage dreams! I would have LOVED every word if I had read this when I was fifteen.
Henry and Emma have the fairytale meet-cute at the airport and it’s basically love at first sight. Then they both realise they’re at the same boarding school and the friendship blossoms.
Even though I’m not in high school anymore, I still really enjoyed it and I thought the author dealt with quite serious issues (check trigger warnings) in a compassionate and understanding way. The characters also, despite being 17/18 years, were quite mature in most aspects. I think, of course, there were occasions when the I felt like I couldn’t resonate as much with the characters because I perhaps wouldn’t deal with things the same way… *cough cough* the (almost) cheating situation. However, I guess with age (I’m not old old, just maybe not a teenager anymore), comes some perspective.
I’m still going to be on the edge of my seat and tuning in for the next instalment as the side characters look so promising!
p.s I’m rooting for maybe, just maybe, there being a Grace and Valentine storyline 👀
Thank you Netgalley for the eARC in exchange for an honest review!

I enjoyed this and thought it was well suited to younger readers.
I like the context of the boarding school and it was a bit like going back to the days of Cruel Intentions without being so twisted,
The characters were sweet and you could tell they were so loyal to each other which was sweet to read
It's a clean romance and would be a good choice for a younger audience.
Check trigger warnings.
I wasn’t sure about this one first going in but I ended up getting hooked and really loving it.
I haven’t read any books set in a boarding school world and I adore it because all my favourite characters are all together all the time.
Emma was great. I loved her storyline, wanting to go on a year abroad to Scotland to find her dad who she hadn’t seen in many years.
Henry was always so supportive of her and would always do anything he could for her whenever she needed it.
It was so sweet seeing them fall in love with each other both slowly and super fast.
It felt like a breath of fresh air reading a book that had little to no spice. I feel like I need a romance book that also focused on emotions and friendship.
The way grief was spoken about in the book touched my heart as it shows exactly how different people cope. Henry just made me want to hug him in that moment.
Though I’m very unsure whether the basically cheating was something I was comfortable reading. Because it was too calm and too quick.
Overall I’m looking forward to reading the second book.
a typical ya school romance however i liked the read a lot. i don’t really enjoy the cheating trope but i kept reading and enjoyed the book overall - great characters and developments through the book. i’m excited to read more and start book 2 soon!
thank you for the chance to read this book!
This was a really enjoyable high school/college romance. I really liked the premise and the characters involved. I found myself flying through the pages, never being able to put the book down until I'd read just one more chapter.
Can I enrol at Dunbridge Academy, please?
I absolutely adored every moment of this book - the slow burn, the angst, the emotion - it was so good. The instant attraction between Emma and Henry had me on the edge of my seat - and oh, did my heart break many times over.
Luckily for me I already have book 2 to read, so I can't wait to jump straight in and see what happens next!
This book elicited a mix of emotions for me. On one hand, I was thoroughly impressed with the vivid descriptions of the setting. The author did an exceptional job painting the scenery in such a way that I felt like I was transported right into the world of the story. Additionally, the secondary characters were well-developed.
However, despite these strengths, I struggled to connect with Emma. From the outset, the “connection” between the protagonists felt forced to me. The fact that they couldn't stop thinking about each other, despite him having a girlfriend, struck a negative chord. This element of the story made it difficult for me to fully engage with their relationship. Another aspect that disappointed me was the subplot involving Emma's father.
I guess those two things that bothered me might not matter as much to other readers, but unfortunately, they dimmed the shine of the book for me.
Thank you so much, NetGalley and Quercus Books for sending me this ARC.
This was such a good boarding school romance. I really liked Dunbridge Academy and can't wait to go back for more stories! The plot was well developed and written. But I felt that Henry's dilemma over Emma was too drawn out, he realises in chapter 2 that he's more attracted to Emma than his girlfriend yet it takes him a really long time to do anything about it. Other than this I enjoyed this story, I would really recommend it to a younger (16-19) audience or anyone who doesn't mind younger/more immature characters.
Summary: At Dunbridge Academy, Emma seeks her missing father but finds unexpected love with Henry, a fellow student, despite his girlfriend.
Thank you to Quercus and NetGalley for a copy of this book, all thoughts are my own.
Not exactly what I was epexting with this high school / teen romance...there was certainly less angst and drama, which left me feeling like I had been short-changed somehow.
When I pick up a romance based in high school, especially a boarding school, where there is are family issues, romance drama and a will they wont they then I fully expect, no want to see teenagers being dramatic and over the top. This was mature and almost too sensible!
I enjoyed the book and will certainly read the next in the series, I was epecting something a little different is all and so if you want high school drama in an over the top way this probably isn't going to be it for you.
I received this book as an ARC and provide my honest review
