I liked the blurb on this book, so I decided to give it a go as it sounded like my sort of thing. Honestly, the start of the book for me was very slow. It felt a bit disjointed and confusing with how the fae and the worlds were described, and I wasn't sure that I was actually going to enjoy the book.

We then met who I thought would be the MMC, and the relationship between Jaylyn and him just didn't feel real to me and moved so quickly. I was honestly feeling a bit disappointed, but I kept going, and I am SO glad that I did.

Once you hit about chapter 18, the book takes a different turn and definitely picked up a lot. I absolutely adored Min and Goody and felt so protective over them both! From that point, I was engrossed and couldn't put it down as I had to know what happened next!!

I felt that Jaylyn's character really started to develop more, and the slow burn romance really just left you wanting more. Kal was such a sweet character, and his development was so nice to watch and I loved him so much by the end of the book. It then, of course, ended on a cliffhanger, and I will 10000% be picking up the next book!

It's a great read for anyone who enjoys fantasy books!

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for this ARC!

This is a book I went into somewhat blind - I skimmed the blurb, seen a few words that interested me along with that lovely cover and figured I'd give it a try. And oh my gosh am I ever glad that I did! This book hit me right in the feels and I absolutely loved the world that is written, it was a refreshingly different version of the typical fae fantasy worlds we love and see so much of.

The characters are brilliant and while I initially struggled with finding the FMC a little immature in her reactions at times, and the 'instalove/lust' between our FMC and who I assumed our MMC would be, as soon as the plot started rolling I realized what the author was setting up and I was so here for it! The FMC's growth throughout the book was gradual but noticeable, and I have high hopes for her in the next book. The slow burn enemies to friends to lovers between the MC's was *chefs kiss*, and I appreciated the notable difference in the experiences the FMC has between the two male characters, which helps to set them apart as well as show their true character

The plot itself was engaging and while I felt like it dragged a touch through certain forested parts, I couldn't stop turning the pages to read what was happening next. The magic system is one that was slowly revealed throughout the entirety of the book, and one I can't wait to see more of in the next book. I'm very interested to see where the author goes with so many things in the next book!

Into the Skies is perfect for fantasy fans like myself. It was very much a dystopian vibe where humans are subjected to the whims of the fae.

A human - Jaylyn - finds herself thrust into the royal court where she meets a prince, Aster. When she undergoes a transformation into a fae she becomes aware he is her soulmate. But shortly after they are attacked and ends up in prison with one of her guards.

The pair manage to escape and find unlikely friends as they fight to stop a mad king and survive.

The book was full of action, love and friendship and was well written. I think fantasy lovers will enjoy the story line. Looking forward to seeing how the story continues.
