From the Farm, to Our Table is a short story that lets children know where their food is coming from. Especially nowadays where most people tend to get their food from supermarkets. It's good for children to learn where their food comes from and this does this in a lovely (and non-traumatic) way.
It has lovely colourful pictures which are eye catching. Fabulous story for young children.

This was a cute book about homesteading, and where food comes from. Bright, simple illustrations. I wish that maybe they could include some information in the back, such as a glossary or even some simple instructions. My library is in the city, and many students do not know where their food comes from. This would be a great addition to classrooms to help explore farming and sustainable food.

Thank you to NetGalley and Gnome Road Publishing for providing me with an advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review.

A truly lovely book which shows in a simple way how sustainable farming works for a family while the dad is out in the fields doing the heavy labor.
Silvopasture (silva is forest in Latin) is the practice of integrating trees, forage, and the grazing of domesticated animals in a mutually beneficial way. (Sneaky way to advance vocabulary)
The illustrations by Amanda Morrow are simple yet detailed, colorful, and delightful.
Well suited for reading WITH someone of any age including ESL, and great for gifting to anyone, but especially to a school or your local public library!
I requested and received a free temporary e-book on Adobe Digital Editions from Gnome Road Publishing via NetGalley. Thank you!

This was sweet. I really enjoyed seeing the kids take ownership of where their food was coming from, and the way that their parents were very purposeful in what they showed the kids and told them. As a Midwesterner, I appreciated this book a great deal.

I really enjoyed this book and how it teaches children where our food comes from and how we can maintain a sustainable lifestyle. I also liked the message of everyone in the house helping out by completing chores. The story was easy to read, the illustrations were amazing and who doesn’t love a bit of home cooking. A thoughtful and wholesome story.

Lovely view of farm life and sustainable living. Would be nice to have a word bank. (What is a silvopasture? Great Plains people may not know.) My kids wondered what the dad was doing all day, but overall enjoyed the book.

An adorable story that teaches little ones all about where our food comes from and the hard work it takes to get it there. We love how detailed the book is explaining the many different ways farmers help families to eat everyday. We loved how the wonderful, colorful and calming pictures show what families do on the farm to make sure everyone has nutritious and delicious food. My 4 year old loves the farm and this book was a great way to show him details and how many different things come from the farm. Like the book shows, we are grateful for the animals and plants that feed us. We are especially thankful to the hard working farmers who make it all possible. This is a great story to teach about farm life. I highly recommend it for use in the classrooms as well. You will love this story.

The writing was clear and simple with a few more difficult words thrown in. It was informative without being overbearing or too complicated.

The font was simple with the occasional change when illustrating sounds. The text was black and part of the illustrations in the book. This therefore made the background to the text different depending on which page you were reading.

The amount of text differed on each page. There were blocks of text in random places on the page. Despite this it was still fairly easy to follow.

The sounds in the book were written in a different font in a different colour and were again randomly put on the page. This added interest.

The illustrations were bold and eyecatching. There were lots of little details that meant that each time you looked at the page you found something different.

Overall a fun, informative book to read.

I loved this cute childrens book. From the farm, to our table follows twins Leo and Finaly on the journey of how the agriculture and animals they take care of on the farm end up on their table. What I loved the most about this book was that not only were Leo and Finaly learning but their mom allowed them to do tasks as well. A great read to teach kids the importance of hard work.
