Anna is a bestselling mystery author who inadvertently becomes caught up in a crime where she is the primary victim. After a book signing where a “fan” creeps her out, Anna finds herself at the mercy of the delusional creep, who thinks a book that Anna wrote describes and fits his illegal plans.

A. moderately likable character who loves her 7 cats, Anna is independent to a fault, while also showing readers her funny and sensitive sides. The detective assigned to her case recognizes that she is someone special, going above and beyond in his job, to bring her home and the bad guy, to justice.

Much shorter than most audios, around 3-4 hours, this is a fun first installment in a new series. The narrator kept the pace moving and was distinctive with all the different voices.

(I received a copy from NetGalley and have written an objective review.)

I selected this book for the title alone. It took me a little while to get into it. Might have had something to do with the narrator (when there were different characters, it wasn't always clear who was speaking). And possibly the timeline of the story. However, once the detective arrived on the scene, things really got moving, and I became much more invested. By the end, I think I even wanted to be invited over for dinner. Put the second in the series on my TBR list.

It was a nice and quick cosy mystery. It was relatively short, but I still liked it a lot. It was a quick audiobook I loved listening to while at work.
I think it might be a series and I would definitely listen to the other books in the series.

This is a fun and yes, at times, a very silly mystery with lots of cats-my favorite-Tater Tot ❤️! The narrator, Robin Waters, made his audiobook a joy to listen to. I thank Netgalley for the opportunity to listen to and review this audiobook.

This was a quick cozy mystery. I picked it up based on the title. Unfortunately it fell a little flat for me. I liked that it was a fast read and enjoyed the narrator. Anna was a likable character. I think I struggled with some of the outdated language. Due to the length, I didn’t feel invested in the characters once I closed the book.

This was cute. I don’t know that I would classify it as a cozy mystery because from the beginning you know who but you don’t know why. Anna Romano was funny and interesting to follow as she deals with a crazed stalker. I laughed a lot but there was also a serious side to this (there is a murder). I enjoyed this and look forward to reading the rest in the series.

This was a well-written book that kept my attention. I liked the surprise twists, and even read it twice.

This was a short mystery audio book that I was excited to try being a fan of mysteries, cats and authors as protagonists!

I thought the story was a fun, fast paced read although at points I did find myself a little muddled with the characters. It can often take me a while to find my feet with a story and characters so the book being on the shorter side was perhaps not the best fit for my personal reading style in audio format.

Overall, I had a good time whilst listening and the book provided what I would expect from this type of mystery story.

Thank you to the publisher for providing this book for review consideration via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

I had absolutely no idea what to expect with this book but thought the cover looked fun and the title was intriguing. Unfortunately, despite it's relatively short length, I admit to struggling to remain engaged and I think it's because it's a quick listen so the characters didn't feel very developed and therefore I couldn't connect with them.

The plot was intriguing but wasn't as fully developed or as gripping as I would have liked again due to the shortness of the book and the ending felt a little to 'easy'. However, having said all that, I think this could be a good series and I would like to get to know Anna a little more (and her cats!) so will look out for more in the future.

Thank you to the author, IBPA and NetGalley for enabling me to listen to and share my thoughts of this start to a new series.

Cats, Cannolis and a Curious Kidnapping

Is a wild mad-capped ride that your sure to enjoy. Anna Ramona is mature, single author and self admitted mom to 7 cats who unwittingly finds herself smack dab in the middle of mystery. She also enjoys an occasional daydream. At a book signing event she believes she may have a stalker . Is it case of an overactive writer’s imagination? The stalker Talon, believes that Anna knows his secrets. Secrets that he’s willing to kill to keep silent. Working tirelessly on the case is the handsome Detective Solis. The detective likes cats, cannolis and maybe even Anna. If you’re a fan of cozy mysteries, this is a must read. I can’t wait for the next installment in this series.

This book alternated between 3 points of view: the detective, the kidnapper, and Anna, the cat loving mystery author. The way this was done worked well since we could get in each of their heads.

Seven cats!! Oooft. You go girl if you can manage all of that poop! And the detective eating a couple of cannolis and falling asleep at her house? The relationship between these two just didn't seem realistic - maybe if there were more interactions or build up of the romance, but it fell a little flat.

Very quick cozy mystery for cat lovers! The narration was decent, you could tell between the characters, which is always a plus. Thanks NetGalley for the ARC.

Super fast cozy murder mystery. There were some eye roll moments in the dialogue and writing style but the plot was clever and fairly complex. Finished the audio in one listen, the narration was great. If you like cozy mysteries this is one to check out!

Ana Romano is a mystery author who owns 7 cats and is miraculous unmarried despite her innate cooking skills as an Italian. Her life runs smoothly, until a mysterious man begins to stalk her and she tries to find out why.

Honestly, this was a cute and amusing story with some pretty quirky characters. At its core it has good potential, but I feel like it could have been better.

First, it could have been longer. Many of the stories details would have benefitted from if they could have had more focus. I want to know more about some of the side characters. We need more details about the cats. And the same can be said about the overall mystery itself which could have been fleshed out and drawn out to make the story more intriguing. This was far too short and I felt the story suffered.

The details that were included often frustrated and amused me in equal measure. The police interactions especially were frustrating at times, but the actual research that went into making these actions true to life (officers will drop everything if an officer down call comes in) was impressive. The same can be said for the romance in the book. It had no depth, not because I can't see the characters together, but because they needed more time to develope.

Overall, this is a fun quick read that can amuse your average cozy mystery reader. I hope if there are more books in this series, they get longer and more in depth.

Although this was a quick read (listen), it was jam packed with laughs and, as expected, cats, cannolis, and a kidnapping - plus an unexpected revelation at the very end.

I’ll definitely be picking up book #2!

A fast, fun and easy read! Anna is an author and crazy cat lady, seriously, she has seven cats! During a book signing event she comes into contact with a man who wispers a vague threat. Soon after she reports her stalker to the police she becomes kidnapped and it becomes a race against time to escape.
This was a very quick read and I didn't know what to expect going in. It took me by surprise and kept me engaged to the end. It is funny, quirky and full of adventure. The narration was great and I look forward to more in this series!

A nice little quick read. Thoroughly enjoyable! A bit more mystery (which would make it a little longer) would be great. Enjoyed this author a lot.
