A Corpse at the Witching Hour" is the 6th book in Debra Sennefelder's Food Blogger Mystery series. I like the small town setting of fictional Jefferson, Connecticut in this series that is written atmospheric for the reader. Its fun to imagine living in this picturesque town. Hope is a food blogger and a cookbook author who is finding success in her career. through her own efforts, I enjoyed her potantial and growth from the first books in the series. Hope is a likable protagnist,, smart and savvy with a dose of humor. This is a engaging fun Halloween based cozy with a mysterious haunted house, a murder and a fun sleuth. The author has written the perfect Halloween cozy. The sleuth kept me guessing and I loved the clues throughout and red herrings. The supporting characters all add to the fun. I highly recommend this next in series .
Thank you to the publisher , Net Galley and the author for the opportunity. My review opinions are my own

Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for the chance to read and review this book
Halloween is here and Hope happy to help hand out candy to the Trick Or Treaters. What she didn’t count on is finding a body on all Hallow’s Eve. But since she has, she’s got some skin the game and will do her best to find out whodunit, no matter the curse or goblin that dares to try and stop her!
I love this series and Hope and Ethan are a great couple. Bu5 it’s Bigelow, Princess, and Poppy that really give me the warmest of warm fuzzies. A solid mystery ever time and enough red herrings to keep me changing my mind make this a series I never miss out on.
Fun Halloween/culinary cozy
Ms. Sennefelder penned a great addition to her series in this one. It has intrigue, romance and humor within the tale. A house with history, family secrets and recipes make this an ideal Halloween read. I recommend this book for any cozy lover.
I requested and received a NetGalley ARC gratis and offer my opinion in the same.
I need to go back and read the 1st ones I this series! I enjoyed the charcters and need to get to know more of them. The mystery was also interesting and kept me guessing. I just don't understand how I didn't read this series sooner!
I loved "A Corpse at the Witching Hour" the 6th book in Debra Sennefelder's "A Food Blogger Mystery" series. Visiting Jefferson, Connecticut has become a pleasant escape.
I love Hope as she is real and I have become invested in her and what is happening around her. I like her family and friends, Claire, Jane, Drew and of course Ethan (Police Chief boyfriend) and the dynamics between them all. Don't get me started on her dog Bigelow, Poppy the chicken and Princess the cat!
There was life changing moments in this book, as Hope and Ethan make some decisions with respect to the future. With a few suspenseful moments as well as some lighthearted ones, but with plenty of twists and turns to keep us entertained. I did suspect the killer but I started second guessing myself as there was plenty of suspects.
I highly recommend this book and I cannot wait to see what’s next for Hope in this series and I look forward to reading the next book ...
I requested and received an advance reader copy of this book from Beyond the Page and Netgalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
"A Corpse at the Witching Hour (Food Blogger Mysteries #6)" by Debra Sennefelder is a Halloween themed cozy mystery with all the family drama you could hope for in a cozy mystery. So much going down with Drew's family that I don't want to spoil it here in a review. As far as the family drama with Hope, I don't totally understand why she and Ethan don't live together if she's practically a step-mom to his kids at this point. I guess I need to read the previous books to understand that. I know it's stated as having to do with concerns over his custody agreement, but now that the kids are going regularly to a third house it's seemly causing more drama with the ex-wife. Plus, that doesn't really seem fair to the kids either.
Mystery wise, it seemed to jump all over the place. So many other things to discover with it all. However, the moment the murderer was introduced I was thinking there was something hinky about them. In the end I called it. For me, it was most just too coincidental the information that was given about the murderer.
Despite having not read the previous books in the series, this one was fairly standalone. Only exception being some background info on the family dynamics that I personally was curious about, but that didn't take away from the current story. I will probably go back and read the past books.
#ACorpseattheWitchingHour #NetGalley is another fun addition to the series.
Hope Early is an aspiring cookbook author and a food blogger who loves what she does.
Her best friend Drew is always by her side, and a box of old letters sends his world upside down.
Drew's devotion to his Aunt Issy is sweet, but when Hope confesses she sees Issy outside on Halloween night, may be the very thing that tests their friendship.
This book has a lot going on, and kept me engaged from beginning to end.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for selecting me to read an advanced copy of the book.
The latest in the food blogger mystery series sees Hope drawn into her best friend’s family drama after a body is discovered at his aunt’s house. Family secrets, affairs, and other hidden details old and new emerge as Hope looks into the case against the wishes of her police chief boyfriend. It’s an enjoyable read with lots is twists and turns. I did find Hope’s behavior a little hard to believe at points, though, as can happen with amateur sleuth series. She is aggressive in questioning friends and neighbors, demanding information they would really have no reason to giver her. It’s one of my particular annoyances, though, so may not bother others as much. Overall, nice to see a new entry in the series. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an advance copy in exchange for an honest review.
