Another great book by this author
It will have you gripped from the first page to the last
And one big twist I didn’t see coming
Thanks NetGalley
Loved this book , such a great read , kept you on the edge of your seat throughout with lots of twists and turns. A brilliant psychological thriller, could not leave it down , right to the end you were still shocked , really recommend this book for a great easy read with lots of twists.
I always enjoy Liz Lawler’s books and this one certainly didn’t disappoint. Kate enjoys life with her husband Mark and their five year old son. Kate is a busy A and E doctor and Mark is a well liked airline pilot. But her bubble is burst when she finds the police at her door waiting to speak to Mark re the murder of a young woman. Apparently the woman was a female colleague of Mark’s and she had been found murdered in Barcelona where Mark was on a layover and had been seen with her. Mark is suspended from work while the investigation continues but he then gets knocked down by a hit and run driver and is left in a coma. Meanwhile a Kate is struggling with work and childcare so so Olivia moves in to help out. But she has a hidden motive as she appears to be taking over. The plot then unfolds and lots of secrets are revealed. There were lots of twists and turns in the book that at times seemed a little unbelievable, but an enjoyable read.
Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture giving me the opportunity to read and review this book,
I tried but just could not get into this story and I am not quite sure why. The premise sounded like something I would very much be ready to solve. Others will still likely enjoy it more than I did.
Thank you to Netgalley and the author for this book. Such a good read. Mark kept me guess through the book.
This book starts off really well but then it became a bit jumbled for me. One thing I dont like is predictability and this one certainly was.
This I s a gripping psychological thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seat from start to finish.
The story follows Kate, whose life is shattered when she finds out her husband Mark has been accused of murder. I thought Kate was quite naive to be honest and so that did grate on me slightly however it didn’t spoil my enjoyment of the book.
This is a well written and strong book, a real page-turner that left me guessing until the very end. I read it in one sitting and did not expect the ending!!!
Kate adores her husband mark but mark has become the suspect in the death of a woman - Mark says he did not do this but is not giving Kate any explanation about where he was the night of the murder or what his connection to this woman is.
Twisting and turning a great thrilling mystery

Fun read.
The story starts with Kate, an A&E doctor, missing a shift when she is shocked to receive 2 police inspectors to her front door, her alarm is further raised when she is advised that they are looking for her airline pilot husband Mark, in relation to an incident. Kate's sleuthing leads her to discover that there has been a murder in Barcelona, Mark's destination the previous day.
On Marks's return, little in the way of reassurance is given, as Mark fears his arrest is imminent. Is it a suicide attempt, or an accident, that lands Mark in a coma shortly after? With her husband's life hanging in the balance, Kate takes matters into her own hands as she travels to Barcelona to clear her husband's name. She leaves her son at home in the care of one of Mark's cabin crew - this is a story in itself! As events unfold we are taken on an utter emotional rollercoaster that I am extremely glad I am only experiencing vicariously!!
Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for giving me an advance copy.
2.75 rounded up to 3. This book was fine. However I found pretty much all the characters unlikable. I found the main character very weak and naive and her husband was not any better honestly.
This book is full of suspense. I was on the edge of my seat reading this. It was twist after twist. I didn’t know who was at fault or who to believe, I was guessing until the end.
Received off net galley for an honest review
I really enjoyed this book the cover and the blurb grabbed my attention straight away. The book started really good and dipped a little bit but then picked up again and I couldn't put it down Lots of twists and turns This is the first book I have read by this author. I will definitely be reading more
I'm going to give this book 4 stars
Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for this copy.
I absolutely loved The Next Wife and was excited to read this book. With that being said I did not like this book. I hated Kate and just continued to constantly roll my eyes. I stuck it out to the end and I just wanted to throw my phone across the room. I hate giving bad reviews on authors I like, but this was a total pass for me.
This was my first book from this author and it did not disappoint. It was fast-paced and fun. Such a great page turner! I cant wait to read more from this author
I found this book a little bit slow but did enjoy it. There were plenty of twists which kept me guessing. I would read more by this author.
Fast paced and well written, I really enjoyed this book. The story had several twists several of which I did not expect, the ending was good too. A psychological thriller with likeable characters, I would definitely recommend this to others. thanks Netgalley x
A fast paced and cleverly plotted story, I enjoyed this thriller! It starts off a bit slow for me, but a thrid of the way through, I was gripped. Recommended!
A psychological thriller that gripped my attention up until the jaw-dropping twist!
Thank you, Liz Lawler, Bookouture & Netgalley for my copy. All opinions are my own.
I just finished reading this book. Couldn't read fast enough. From a common family with day to day life, to such a hectic and confusing life. I loved how the author uncovered the plot bit by bit, kept me on edge and guessing till the very last page. This is my first book by this author but for sure it won't be the last.
This was an interesting read, it took me a while to get into it and I did quite enjoy it but the storyline was slow and the plot a little dry. Thanks for the chance to review.
