My Husband Lies by Liz Lawler was a decent thriller and kept my attention to an extent. I did find that there were parts that I didn't feel were very logical. I don't want to spoil the story but the ending to me didn't make sense. There were some slow parts in the book but I powered through it because I wanted to know where the author was going. In the end, I would recommend a friend to read this book.
Thank you #NetGalley for the ARC.

What did I just read?!
Do yourself a favour and go into this blind, as looking a few reviews prior might cloud your judgement unfairly like it did mine.
Were there slow bits? Yes but trust me, by the end you'll be madly turning pages not believing what you are reading.
It was very cleverly done by a new to me author that I'd be interested in trying again.

My Husband's Lies is a psychological thriller that plunges readers into a labyrinth of deception and suspense. From the opening pages to the final, it's a tale of secrets, betrayal, and the unraveling of a seemingly perfect life.

The story follows Kate, whose world is shattered when her strait-laced husband, Mark, becomes the prime suspect in a murder. Convinced of his innocence, Kate is in a race to prove Mark's innocence. As she peels back the layers of deception, the narrative takes unexpected twists, keeping the reader guessing and second-guessing every character's motives.

But...is Mark innocent? How is he connected to the beautiful woman he's accused of murdering?

Along the way, we meet Mark's friend Robert, who's harboring a secret of his own. And Mark's co-worker Olivia, who renders help to Kate in her time of need. However, everything is not as it seems.

The author skillfully plays with the reader's emotions, building a sense of unease and suspense that intensifies with every page.

The plot is a carefully constructed puzzle. The well-timed reveals and unexpected developments make it an interesting read.

That being said, I didn't find many of the characters likable. Especially the FMC, her naivety is unbelievable; she ignored the red flags, thus putting her son's life in danger.

How well do we really know the person we married?

Kate and Mark have a perfect life—both have careers they love, a dog, friends, and a beautiful young boy. Until Mark is suspected for murder of a flight attendant who used to work with him, and Kate has to decide if she believes in his innocence. But she doesn’t get much time to decide, as he ends up in an accident fighting for his life. Luckily, Mark’s best friend Robert and coworker Olivia offer to stick with Kate and help around the house and look after their son. But who committed the murder? Who hit Mark with their car? What do Robert and Olivia get out of helping Kate?

This was a pretty standard UK based thriller, that I generally enjoyed reading. I thought the person responsible for everything was made extremely obvious early on, and wish there had been more attempt to keep hit hidden or throw us off the trail. It definitely didn’t keep me on the edge of my seat, but it was still well written and an interesting story. However, there were sections and subplots I felt didn’t really add to the story or serve a purpose (such as the subplot with Sophie and Mark) or the big reveal of Olivia’s story with her son (seemed like such a letdown—I was expecting a much bigger catalyst).

If you’re fans of B. A. Paris, you’ll probably like this one! Overall a pretty average thriller but still worth a read.

Kate is a doctor and she’s married to a pilot named Mark and they have a five-year-old son named Jake who they both love he is seemingly a good man but on his last trip to Monaco an English woman was murdered and it was someone he knew. The interview the whole flight crew including his best friend Robert but Mark is the only one they interview under caution and it’s because they say they have a witness that saw him with the dead girl Lenore. Kate loves her husband and although they had trust issues in the beginning he has really proven himself but with the latest development she doesn’t know what to think. She gets lots of help from her mom but when her mom has health issues right after Mark was hit by a car in his put in the hospital unconscious she is left at loosens until Mark‘s best friend Robert and Olivia offer to take care of Jake while she tends to mark in her other responsibilities at first she is hesitant because she doesn’t know Olivia and Robert is a playboy but when he gives his word he will be careful when tending to Jake Kate agrees. Kate is worried that when Mark wakes up he will be arrested but little does she know there’s someone else planning for her to lose it all! The end of the book was so shocking and to say I didn’t see it coming after all the hours of reading thrillers and figuring out the plot it was definitely a nice surprise and then awesome read! They have so many thriller riders that it is hard unless you already know them to pick out a good one but Liz Lawler is definitely an author I feel like him depend on I love her books and this one was no exception she truly is on my list of great thriller writers. I want to think Bookoucher and Net Galley for my free Ark copy please forgive any mistakes as I am blind and dictate my review.

4 Stars from me

Always a pleasure to open a blog tour! Just going off of the title I had anticipated what this book would be about but it took me by surprise on several occasions and the story had many a diversion within its pages.

As well as being an unnerving thriller, My Husband's Lies dwelt upon the age old question of whether we really ever truly know another person. This is certainly the case for Kate, the character we follow throughout the story, who has to ask herself that repeatedly!

Life for Kate and Mark goes quite rapidly from seemingly perfect to the stuff of nightmares and the revelations keep on coming while Kate struggles to make sense of everything she hears. Somehow she has the wherewithal to embark on some sleuthing although that doesn't entirely help and seems to create more loose ends.

Meanwhile Mark's friend Robert and the ever helpful Olivia inveigle their way into the daily life of Kate and her son. Before she knows it, Kate is relying on them and finds it hard to imagine coping without their ever present support.

But who can she really trust?

A slow start to this book but it turned into a gripping story. Lots of twists and a great ending tying up all loose sends. Highly recommended

Thanks to NetGalley for the arc!
This story ended up being good, it started slow for me and took a little while to get my attention. I had some trouble keeping the multiple characters straight for awhile, but ended up getting it. Towards the end the pace was great as little bits and pieces were given. Overall, I did enjoy this book.

Typical British psychological domestic fiction.

Her husband, Mark, is about to be arrested for murder, but Dr. Kate Jordan absolutely refuses to believe that he could have done such a thing. The police have evidence and a witness. Then Mark is the victim of a hit and run and is hospitalized in intensive care in a medically induced coma. Kate is frantic and Mark's best friend at the airline and a cabin attendant, Olivia, come to her aid and help care for her little boy. As Kate tries to prove Mark's innocence, she's frustrated at every turn by her husband's refusal to answer her questions.

This was so completely predictable. Much of it required way too much suspension of disbelief as events transpired that would have been total red flags to even the least observant person. The character of Kate really irritated me and there was the whole "everyone is in love with her" thing. I spent far more time in her head than I ever wanted and the things she did in response to situations often made no sense for someone who was supposed to be an intelligent doctor. It was quite easy to see what was going on and it seemed like it took a long time to get to the climax even though I read this book in a single setting. Ho hum.

Appreciated the e-book ARC from NetGalley and Bookouture.

I enjoyed this book but I wasn’t that impressed by the twists. It was your typical thriller. The good writing kept me reading! 3 stars!

Gripping and intense read. Very well written with twists and mystery, engaging until the end. I was suspicious but really couldn't expect the twist in the identity of the killer. It's shocking. An engaging read from beginning to the end. Suspenseful with everyone as a suspect. Highly recommended 👌

Thoroughly enjoyed this new read from Liz Lawler! It kept me glued to the page trying to figure out whodunnit - something that will keep you guessing as well. Very clever plotting and we get to know all the characters well. Well done!

“The police are coming, they are going to arrest me.” What do you do when your husband is being accused of murder. When your whole life is torn upside down!

What a book! So many great twists and turns. A riveting psychological thriller.
So many different stories, what’s a lie and what’s the truth!

This is my first book by Liz Lawler but it won’t be my last.

A doctor and pilot living their dream life with their young son. Only a slight complication of his best friend's massive crush on the wife; the husband's drunken kiss with her best friend. Just a blip.
Until a air flight attendant, fired the previous year for an alleged stalking, is found murdered. And Mark cannot account for his actions.
Mark's injuries from a hit and run force him into a coma. Kate becomes obsessed with solving the murder to clear Mark.
Olivia moves in to assist with childcare. Robert, in love with Kate, falls over himself to offer his help.
How will Kate discover the truth?
Kate's attitude was so removed - I struggled to understand her utter reliance on a stranger to care for her child and home. Completely distraught by her husband's coma and potential guilt in a murder, Kate became obsessed with the murder.

Reading this book took me back to playground being on the merry go around because it went round and round with no stops.
I first thought the culprit was one character then shifted to another until finally I figured it out.
I thought I’t was irresponsible and weird that Kate didn’t do more checking on the person who she left her son with.
It’s an interesting twist on a classic plot.

Oh this is twisty. Our gal is a doctor and she is brilliant but life is messy. Her pilot husband is being accused of murder and the night the cops come to talk to them he ends up in a coma after being hit by a car on a walk.
She is trying to keep her son safe from the accusations, keep her elderly sweet dog comfy and alive, and maintain her career. She loves her husband so she is also trying to figure this out before he wakes up and is arrested. Her mom and her husbands two work besties are hanging around helping with her son. However, his boy bestie is in love with her and maybe his gal friend is in love with him. It is a mess!
The ending was great.

This book made me question a lot of things. The plot was somewhat not believable and the actions of the characters not what I thought should be. Overall a good plot. Thank you to NetGalley for a chance to read this arc.
