A hockey romcom that I didn't actually mind too much (sometimes the puckbunny vibes are just too much to endure without a lil eyeroll). It was nice to see two likeable leads who still had something to work through even as they suspected they really did like each other and were good for each other.

Oh my god this series is really capturing my heart!
So far I’ve read books 1, 2, 3 and 7, and while I didn’t enjoy one of them so much, all the others have been an absolute hit! This is probably my second favourite so far after book 3 and I can’t wait to read the others soon. They’re such fun, light and easy to read and digest and think they’re perfect for anyone who love a romance.

The plot was so cute. Tall, hot hockey stud lives next door to the quiet, cello-playing book lover. They worked so well together and with Gracie being sworn off hockey players because of her ex-boyfriend at 17 and her brother, I’m so glad she fell for him. So happy for the Happy Ever After these two got!

It was also lovely having the Logan and Parker cameo from Just Don’t Fall! I loved these two from the first story in this series!
Felix being so caring to Gracie was just so so sweet. Her apartment flooding causing his fight or flight mode to kick in was just SO SWEET! I love him so much!
The things he did for her family too were adorable, and I’m glad she went to California in the end to see him play on the field. Big fat swoon moment!
The writing was easy to read and flow through.
The plot was executed well and this made for a quick palette cleanser!

This story of two neighbors, Felix, the hockey star of the town and Gracie, the school teacher who also plays the cello in the symphony was the perfect match! I adored how Felix was a big, famous and tough goalie for the local Appies hockey team but yet he is quiet, reserved, loves books and classical music.

His neighbor Gracie is the perfect match other than she hates hockey and refuses to date hockey players, but of course how could she not fall in love with him and his sweet gestures. Gracie is such a fun character and when her apartment has a water leak and she moves into Felix’s guest room the story gets fun and interesting to say the least! I loved their connection, their common interests and how well the two welded together and of course all the ups and downs along the way in the story.

Jenny proctor has won my heart with 1 line: “signed Cam Ward Jersey on the wall” I absolutely love the Carolina Hurricanes but this is the first book I have ever heard them being referenced! Not to mention I love me a good hockey romance book!

Gracie has decided that she HATES hockey and she wants nothing to do with hockey players since she was forced to live through her brother’s dream of playing hockey when she was younger.
Felix plays on the minor league hockey team and decides he’s going to try to change Gracie’s mind.

This book was fantastic and I totally recommend it for any one who loves romance, hockey or both!
Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for my honest feedback!

I fell in love with the Appies after ‘Just Don’t Fall’, the first book in the Sweater Weather series, so I was definitely thrilled for Felix’s book. He definitely had some layers with his love for classical music and reading and it was wonderful that he had such a deep connection with his grandmother. Grace was quite likeable, too, and her issue with hockey players was understandable. It made my heart ache how she became an outsider in her family and how she was disregarded by her parents who were obsessed with hockey and didn’t really cared about her music. Thankfully, Felix was there for her and they made such a great couple.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me a copy of the book.

Read this in a day - it was totally adorable! Gracie and Felix are next door neighbours. He’s a professional hockey player and she has absolutely no interest in him because she hates hockey. However, once he develops feelings for her and she gets to know him things start to change.

This was endearing. I loved the genuine slow burn of it - it was a gradual and well paced relationship with two loveable characters truly getting to know each other. So well written. It’s totally closed door and yet their chemistry is off the charts. I loved the poignance of Gracie’s grand gesture at the end, such a swoony moment ❤️

What to expect:

- hockey romance
- he falls first
- forced proximity
- dual pov
- closed door romance

A hockey romance with not much hockey….
Cute romance between a hockey player and a cellist. Great story showing that people are more complex than just liking one thing (ie hockey or music). Gracie hates hockey and says she won’t date players, however the hockey player next door who comes to her concerts and has a large collection of books may change her mind.

This is a low stakes romance, there’s mention of anxiety and family trauma but not too explicit.
It’s worth reading this book for Felix, he is such a perfect guy. He’s respectful, loves classical music, reads, is rich, thoughtful, handsome, a hockey player and seems kind.

Thank you to the author, publisher and netgalley for this arc in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts are my own.

This book was so freaking adorable! The chemistry and tension between Felix and Gracie was fantastic. I really loved how they both worked to overcome their insecurities and weaknesses. Overall, it was great and I can't wait to read more of Jenny Proctor's books.

What a sweet, closed door romance. Won’t lie - it felt a bit rushed, having Gracie and Felix fall so quickly… instalove? But the idea behind Gracie’s dislike for hockey players and Felix being THE hockey player (and yet so much more) was a cute idea. Not necessarily enemies to lovers but more so neighbors to lovers. Gracie is a kind, sweet gal who wants the best for herself and comes from a tumultuous childhood where she felt like she was always placed on the back burner. In comes Felix, who also feels similar, yet always puts Gracie first. The two develop a fast friendship and flirt along the way, but this is where the book fell flat - the romance was just way too rushed? Too quick? I dunno, but wasn’t my cup of tea. Everything else was lovely! What a great story. Thanks for the opportunity to read.

Although part of a series based in the same small town, one that I read and reviewed just before this one, the authors are all different. I usually enjoy this kind of variety since authors bring a different feel to the same characters.
I only got my hands on two of the larger series, and I am sorry there were not more. I would recommend this series to fans of the genre even without having read the rest and solely on the basis of the two that I have read.
The female protagonist in this book is a professional musician who has to supplement her income with another job as well. She resents hockey players, especially because of her lingering resentment from her childhood. Her parents chose her brother's hockey over her musical accomplishments, and although the siblings have a good relationship, the parents are a different matter. The hockey-playing neighbour who is set to win over his talented neighbour has his own set of troubles. He is good at his game and has chosen to play at the level he is playing. The emotional issues are tackled over the course of the narrative.
Both the protagonists come with good backstories and supporting groups of people who are highly entertaining. There are some emotional moments as the couple build up a relationship over mutually compatible tastes. There are some over-the-top gestures, but none of them are too unbelievable, making it a smooth and entertaining read.
I received an ARC thanks to NetGalley and the publishers, but the review is entirely based on my own reading experience.

Title: Absolutely Not in Love

Author: Jenny Proctor

Ch: 23 plus epilogue

Pg: 326

Series: Sweater Weather 7

Genre: Rom Com

Rating: 5 stars

Publisher: Jenny Proctor Creative

Just when I thought that Colby Knight from Flirtation or Faceoff by Leah Brunner would be my favorite fictional hockey player. Jenny Proctor writes Felix Jamison. I mean who does love a guy who can play hockey, cook reads and loves classical music. He’s the swoonist hero in the sweater weather series.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher through netgalley. I was not required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are mine alone.

A fun and enjoyable hockey romance read. This is not my first book by Jenny Proctor and it won’t be my last!

Felix and Gracie were enjoyable main characters. It was lovely to see their relationship develop.

This was a cute and easy romance book I’d recommend if you’re looking for a nice light read.

This was an okish read for me. It was very sweet but also very slow. I was hoping for a sort of Sarah Adams type vibe, cozy and cute but it just didn’t live up to that for me. I found both characters pretty annoying at times and some of the situations were just drawn out too much for me. If your looking for a really light book then you could definitely give this a go and see what you think.

this book was super sweet and cute, the denial stage of any romance book always gets me hooked. they refuse to be in love with each other but you couldn’t just stop. something about this is so exhilarating. this book kept me entertained. thank you so much to the author, publishers, and netgalley for the opportunity.

I really enjoyed this book! Felix and Gracie’s story was cute, light, and fun. They were easy to like, fun to read about, and I enjoyed getting to see them fall in love! I do wish, for my own personal preferences, that we got a bit more depth to each of the characters. I think it would have added a nice level of complexity to the story, but I still really enjoyed it. It’s a great quick, easy read! Felix was definitely swoon-worthy!!

I enjoyed this book so much! Most of my romance books are steamy... but lately I have found myself reading more clean romance books and enjoying them a lot. This one, apart from the romance, has a great plot. Gracie and Felix have a lot of problems with their families and while they resolve them, their relationship becomes stronger. I hope to read more books from this saga... and more from you!
