No Escape by Maren Stoffles is a thrilling and heart-pounding novel that takes the escape room concept to chilling new heights. As someone who personally loves escape rooms, I found the story’s immersive and terrifying twists even more gripping. Stoffles’ skillful blend of suspense and psychological tension makes this a standout read that will keep readers on the edge of their seats.
Following the success of her unputdownable debut, Escape Room, Maren Stoffels is back with a new standalone horror novel about a twisted game master who has no intention of letting their players go.
I loved Escape Room and pretty high expectations for this one. It was a little disappointing, but I might've just had too high of expectations. It was still fun, though.
This book was short, but so good. There was so many twists and turns in this book, it held my attention the entire time I was reading. The suspense and thrill had me at the edge of my seat, I really enjoyed it.
This was pretty thrilling! It had me interested all the way up to the end. I did feel like the ending fell a little flat for my taste, but when I remind myself it's YA the ending fits pretty well and leaves it open for the author to write more if she wants. It was a nice little book that I enjoyed reading.
This book gave me anxiety with all of its escape room shenanigans.
Seriously, it was awesome and freaky all in one quick read.
I do feel like the ending needed a tad bit better explanation, but overall think it's a great read.
Solid 4 stars from me.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this ARC
No Escape is a fast-paced thriller, where you never really know what is going to happen. This is one book that I could not put down. A definite page-turner.
A fun and engaging “escape room” YA thriller novella. They synopsis is exactly what you get, it kept my attention, and felt it was an appropriate middle grade to Young Adult read.
No Escape by Maren Stoffels was an intense story. Well developed characters that are in a twisted engrossing YA thriller.
This was an utterly enjoyable and engaging read. That easily kept me reading long into the night.
A very thrilling page turner, and I’m looking forward to reading more from her.
Thank You NetGalley and Underlined for your generosity and gifting me a copy of this amazing eARC!
Another great YA book for all ages. Imagine being invited to an escape room and being able to bring your best friend. Sounds great, right? That is until you arrive and learn that you will be playing against each other. Every decision you make will now affect her. Can you survive?
Thank you so much to NetGalley and Maren Stoffels for providing me with a complimentary digital ARC for No Escape coming out April 2, 2024. The honest opinions expressed in this review are my own.
I’ve pretty much read all of Maren Stoffels’ books. I’m obsessed with her writing! She’s definitely one of my favorite authors. I love the short chapters and lots of dialogue. This book was definitely short, but I loved it. I thought it was a great companion to Escape Room. I love the locked door mysteries. The competition was interesting. I loved everything about it!
I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys fast paced mysteries!
Two teams participate in identical escape rooms with a dark twist.

They soon realize the dark sinister identical escape rooms is nothing like they thought. The participants are split into two teams and must use clues found in coffins. Welcome to the dark side of escape room 2.0.
I enjoyed this book with its heart stopping plots and twists. I highly recommend this book.

The premise of this book is so good. I'm obsessed. For a YA book this definitely had me hooked. So much so I read it in one sitting.
This gave me a tiny bit of Saw vibes. (Which I love!)I enjoyed the alternating POV with the excerpts from the psychiatrist as well. I did see she has another book with a similar idea so I'll definitely be reading that soon. This book had my heart rate up and stress levels high. While I do wish it was much longer and fleshed out, I think it's good for its intended target audience. If it was longer, more gory/horror, I probably would've given it that extra star. However, I am keeping in mind this is YA.
Thank you Maren Stoffels , Net Galley and Random House Children's for providing me with an ARC of this book.
#NetGalleyARC This was super creepy and thrilling, I loved it. It gives off Criminal Minds vibes and I’m here for it. I also loved that it’s a fast paced read. A perfect read for October.
This book was amazing! I really loved the plot, it was super interesting, while also being suspenseful. I couldn't put it down! The plot twists were crazy, I never expected any of them. The idea of the story was so cool, I've never read a book based on an escape room.
"No Escape" was a fast-paced read with a suspenseful plotline that's perfect for fans of
YA Thrillers.
I've read several of this author's books and I think she does a great job crafting intriguing storylines filled with interesting characters .
This is the second book I've read from the author centered around the MC's being trapped in an Escape Room and I think I may have liked this book even more than the first.
I would definitely recommend adding this one to your TBR.

Well I know I will never be doing an escape room. This is a fun thriller that brings together four people both with their own struggles. You have Beau the pop star and his best friend witty Zora then Lexi and Tess who are battling mental health issues. I loved the alternating perspectives from the characters and felt like I resonated with Lexi. Overall a quick fun read that reminds you that we all just want to feel something.
The idea of an escape room thriller is so fun! I haven’t read Escape Room yet, but best believe I’m going to after this!
A woman approaches Lexi and leaves a business card on her bike. When Lexi calls the number, she’s invited to a special escape room and told to bring her best friend. Her best friend happens to be her cousin, Tess. Tess has mentally been going through a hard time, and Lexi is trying to get her back to how she was before her friend Kelly passed. When they get to the escape room, Beau and his best friend, Zora are waiting for them. When they are made to switch partners and go their separate ways, all hell breaks loose. Soon they realize they’re definitely not in a normal escape room they’re at a race against the clock to make it out alive. But what will happen when one of them has to pay the ultimate price?
This was fast paced, and an intriguing read! I will say that the horror aspect is not where I wanted it to be, or what I would expect from even a YA thriller. However, the premise was interesting enough to keep me reading. It gave me mellow SAW vibes so that was a plus! I think this would be great for younger readers as it’s not too horrific, but definitely has some heart pounding parts.
Overall, I really enjoyed this, and will be reading more from this author!
Thanks for giving me an advanced copy of this book! I love reading Maren Stoffels books because she always adds the right amount of horror and mystery. This time was no different, it kept me hooked from beginning to end!
Thank you, Maren Stoffels and NetGalley, for the ARC. I leave this review voluntarily and happily. Also, thank you publishers for your hard work!
What can I say other than this certainly was an interesting and quick read. I wasn't expecting the way this book turned out nor the end. I won't spoil anything, but it ends in a way that has me miffed. The villain of the book has a way of thinking that has me wanting to strangle them.
Four people enter what they think is an escape room... only it's not it's something far more sinister. This book takes you on twists and turns. It's a mystery and leaves you worried for the characters and hoping for the best and, of course, for their safety and, above all, for all of them to win.
You don't have to worry about gore. There is suicide mention and thoughts of it, bur other than that not much triggering content. This was well worth yhe read.

NO ESCAPE by Maren Stoffels (Thank you Netgalley and RHC for the Arc- April 2)
Review:
5⭐
NO ESCAPE is a what one would call a nail-biter---it's a pulse-pounding thriller. With each page of NO ESCAPE there was a new threat, a new task, I was conitually rooted for the characters to escape. This book reminded me of the movie No Escape Room, and that's one of the things that drew me in.
I liked this book. NO ESCAPE is a quick read, literally less than a day for me. I was pulled in by the mystery, and stayed for the thrills. If you were a fan of ESCAPE ROOM by Maren Stoffels, or escape rooms in general, the this book is for you.
What I Liked About It:
