I am a lover of all things Majipoor. Those books opened my eyes to the magic of sci-fi and I am always chasing the high bar Valentine set. As such, I thought I should go straight to the source of the writing of my beloved science fiction world. I don't think I expected this book. I know it was originally written in the 80's, which is fine - I was a kid in the 80's. I kinda hope I have aged better than this book. Maybe I am biased because I have strong young daughters who are capable of anything - the same viewpoint was not as widespread all those years ago.
There is nothing wrong with the story - it just didn't reach the heights I expected.
