What a finale! I've read each of the Regency Vows books and while I liked all of them a lot, this is definitely my favorite. Congratulations to Martha Waters for distilling everything that was so lovable about each installment and sending off this hilariously chaotic and lovely group of aristocrats in such sweet and satisfying fashion. I'm so happy about West and Sophie's second chances with each other!

The final book in The Regency Vows series is here! Happy (belated) Release Day, To Woo and to Wed!
Here is what you can expect from West and Sophie’s story:
•Dual POV
•Dual timeline
•Second chance
•Fake engagement
•Angst & so much pining
•Meddling family (good and bad)
Premise: When Sophie discovers her widowed sister is holding back from committing to her new Beau until Sophie is settled, Sophie enlists the help of her former flame West to fake an engagement. But when her sister starts planning an over-the-top double wedding, Sophie must decide when to put an end to the farce. West had his heart broken my Sophie years earlier, but has never been able to move in. He decides to use the fake engagement to win her over once and for all.
My thoughts:
I really loved West as a character; he was sweet, committed and patient. Sophie frustrated me at times because she was so stubborn; however, as an eldest sister I did understand her desire to see her family settled. I was so relieved when she finally gave in to West and decided to pursue her own happiness. This was a solid end to The Regency Vows series, and I can’t wait to see what Martha writes next.
Thank you to Atria Books for the early digital copy; all thoughts are my own.

The final installment in this series is a good one. West and Sophie were almost engaged 7 years ago but thanks to his interfering father and a near fatal accident that didn’t happen. Fast forward and Sophie is a widow who believes that romance has passed her by. Her sister is fond of an earl but won’t do anything until Sophie is settled. Sophie goes to West with a plan to let Alexandra move forward. They will pretend to be engaged and then break it off once Alexandra is married. What could possibly go wrong?
Great dialog and story. A wonderful and to this series.

I'm so happy with how this series ended! Martha is such a talented writer and the way she's able to balance wit with the character's emotional journies makes this one of my favorite Regency series. I'm glad Sophie and West finally got their due and it did not disappoint! I highly recommend this book.

To Woo and to Wed by Martha Waters is an utter delight! The perfect finale to the Regency Vows series!
Like so many I have been begging for West and Sophie's story since book 1. They have so much chemistry and so much angst. They struggled to move past their tragic past to start over despite the fact they have always loved each other. Their love sizzles off the page and it is so sexy! I may say this is the spiciest book in the series. You'll also love it for the glimpses into the lives of their extended friend group. All of our favorites make an appearance, happy in their own relationships and pushing West and Sophie together.
While this series is over I can't wait to see where Martha heads next!
Thank you to NetGalley and Atria Books books for providing this eARC!

Sophie Bridewell, formerly Sophie Wexham and John Audley, the Marquess of Weston were in love and on a path to a betrothal before West was involved in a curricle accident which killed his best friend David and left him with a limp and pain in his right leg. While West was recuperating from the curricle accident, Sophie married one of his friends, Fitzwilliam Bridewell. Fast forward 7 years, Sophie is now widowed and West is still unmarried. They fake a betrothal in order to convince her younger sister, Alex, who is also a widow, to accept a proposal from her beau, the Earl of Blackford. While Sophie and West are going through the motions of their fake betrothal, they are drawn to each other and realize they are still attracted to each other. They conduct an affair and West assumes it will lead to marriage but Sophie does not want to commit because the same issues that prevented her from committing the last time are still present. This is a wonderful end to the Regency Vows series. I look forward to reading the next series authored by this writer.
I received an ARC from Atria Books and NetGalley and I am voluntarily leaving a review.

Love this series! I've only read 3 and 5 and I still need to go back and read the others couples books. Love these characters and their back story.
This had a bit of the Persuasion to it which is my favorite Austen story. They fell in love when she was 20 and him 24 and his father was against it and when an event happened she made it so he didn't have to choose. They were forced apart. Seven years later and tons of pain and bitterness, she asks for a fake engagement to force her sister's hand. He fell first years ago and he's still in love. She is just trying to protect everyone from outside forces trying to make them miserable and denying herself happiness. Definitely enjoyed their encounters and their energy.

To Woo and to Wed is an apt conclusion to a delightful series, with fan favorites West and Sophie finally getting their story.
I love a pining hero, and West brings all the pining to this tale, which alternates both POV and timeline. There were some lines in the text and I enthusiastically highlighted because they were so perfect within the text. My one *tiny* qualm is Sophie’s reticence, especially in the latter half of the book. On one hand, it makes sense… on the other, I felt like she needed to do a little bit of groveling. (I love a good grovel, irrespective of gender.)
Overall, though, I thought the story was well-paced, enjoyable, and a great summation to the series. There’s an abundant amount of chemistry and delightful banter. And I always stan a couple in historical romance that bucks the norms of the day, which I won’t expound upon to avoid spoilers. But you’ll know it when you see it.
Thanks to Atria Books and NetGalley for the ARC.

A big thank you to Martha Waters, Atria Books, and Netgalley for an eARC in exchange for my honest opinion. To Woo and to Wed is out and ready to read!!
What an amazing conclusion to the hilarious and romantic Regency Vows series. I remember picking up To Have and to Hoax (the first book) and having the best time while reading it. To Woo and To Wed lived up to the other books it has followed in the fact that I really enjoyed it, and I loved seeing these two characters find their happy ending. The writing was funny, sweet, romantic and a little angsty. It was also really amazing to see all of the previous main characters and how they are doing. If you are looking for a heartwarming tale of second chances and love this book is for you!!

To Woo and to Wed was a fun conclusion to Martha Waters' Regency Vows series. Sophie and West, the last two single members of the set, finally have their happy ever after. As is typical for the series, this book is full of deception before the couple finds their happiness. I'm sad to see the series end, but looking forward to reading more from Martha in the future.

I love, love, love To Woo and To Wed! This is the fifth and final book of Martha Waters' utterly charming series, and finally we get Sophie and West's story!!! I absolutely adored this book.
Sophie and West, years ago, were in love. Their story begins when West is 24 and Sophie is in her third season, with four younger sisters who need to find good marriages. They fall in love, but West's stern, controlling duke father does not approve of West declaring himself so young (or more importantly, to someone that was not his choice. West does not care and plans on making his own decisions, but before that gets into a curricle accident that kills his best friend and leaves West with a permanent leg injury. While he is convalescing, Sophie marries someone else. Back to the book's present time, Sophie is now widowed and has less sisters to worry about-- but one of her sisters (also now widowed) will not marry again because she does not want to ostensibly leave Sophie behind. Sophie wants her sister to remarry, so she hatches a plan with West to pretend to be engaged so her sister will marry the man the she loves.
Hijinks and chaos and a dark cloud of a duke ensue, which makes for a delightful, fun and fantastic read!
Waters portrays West and Sophie's emotions so well, they are so strong yet so tender, I felt like I was swooning at every word. I laughed at the chaos of Sophie's sisters and wanted to growl at West's meddlesome father. Waters character development is absolutely fantastic and her characters make the book!
I also loved the feeling of coming full circle with this group of misfit Regency period ladies! I have loved all of them, and love how Violet, Diana and Emily brought Sophie (& Jane, Penvale's husband) in to their circle and we have such a rich, connected community. The warmth could be felt through the pages, and the star-crossedness (is the a word, I'm making it a word!) of Sophie and West.
I love the sassy, snappy, funny and poignant dialogue and writing. To Woo and To Wed is so, so good and I just loved this book. While you could read this as a standalone, I would recommend reading all of the Regency Vows series.

A fairly clean, regency romance. Similar to the first in the series (To Have and to Hoax), Sophie and West are forced into socializing at events and eventually confronting the reason behind their falling out. Seven years prior to the events in this series West and Sophie connect at a ball and are inseparable.
Through shenanigans, they agree to a fake betrothal but was it fake? I do love the series but this fell flat for me. I felt there were more opportunities for characters to be developed a bit more. I did enjoy hijinx as lead by the cast of characters those who read the previous books in the series will recognize and enjoy.
Thank you Netgalley and Atria Books for the opportunity to read this title.

This was an entertaining, well-written Regency romance, It was fun, steamy and clever. I didn't want to put it down. I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more books by this author.

If you’ve been reading the full Regency Vows series, you may have been anticipating a love story between West and Sophie since that first book. Indeed, James Audley’s older brother has some well-established history with Sophie, and readers could see the sparks between them as they were thrown together over the last four books. At long last, these two lovebirds get a second chance… via a fake engagement!
Before even starting To Woo and to Wed, I felt like I knew West and Sophie, at least a bit. Here, their personalities get to blossom more fully. Who knew how protective and bold Sophie was? And I loved getting to see little glimpses of humor in West, even if he only shows it around Sophie. In some ways, my expectations may have grown too high over the previous books. I was looking for a bit more chemistry, some extra heightened passion. Even so, the love story here is a delight and full of heart.
One of my favorite things about To Woo and to Wed is the frequent callbacks to earlier moments between Sophie and West. We get a fuller look at what went down seven years ago: the way West’s father cruelly prevented their engagement, the state of mind West was in when he got into the curricle accident that killed his best friend and left him injured, the messy aftermath of it all. We also get to see the rare interactions West and Sophie had in the years since then, even as recently as the previous summer at Jeremey’s house party.
In addition to West and Sophie’s unconventional path back to each other, there is also an emphasis on family. Indeed, a significant reason for their breakup before was a threat to Sophie’s younger sisters, and her reason for a fake engagement is, again, in support of one of her sisters. Sophie is very close with her whole family, sometimes going too far in trying to protect them. West, too, has had a great deal of weight on his shoulders, as he’s set to inherit the dukedom from his manipulative father. Even his relationship with his younger brother James is only just finally healing. West and Sophie are so similar in some ways, even if their outer personalities come off as quite distinct.
Seeing the whole cast of previous couples is also a treat, especially in the epilogue! I just love seeing them all together, happy and growing their families and finally content with one another.
To Woo and to Wed is a fine ending to a series that has been great fun, full of silliness and humor, but also filled with warmth and wit. I loved seeing the full spectrum of West and Sophie’s relationship, from where it started seven years earlier to how they finally got their happily ever after in the end.
The Regency Vows series may be over, but I look forward to reading more from Martha Waters, whatever form that may take.

Thanks to @atriabooks for an advance copy of To Woo and To Wed by Martha Waters, out TODAY! 🎉
The start of the new semester has been wild and while I’ve slightly fallen down on the job of reminding you how much I love this series, I’m here on the pub day of the FINAL BOOK to say: Hi. If you love friend groups and silliness and romance then what are you waiting for?!
To Woo and To Wed was my first read of the year and one I’ve looked forward to (Sophie and West!!!!) and dreaded (the finale of a beloved series) in equal measure.
This is second chance romance done right, with incredible MUTUAL PINING, beautiful found family, and grief, chronic pain, and child free representation.
Martha Waters has written a cast of characters that I hold so close to my heart, and this felt like the perfect conclusion. I already know I’ll be returning to these stories again.

I'm kind of in shock that I have officially finished The Regency Vows series. I remember reading To Have and To Hoax years ago and having it really be my gateway into the historical romance genre - and what a way to start! Now, years later, I have finally read West and Sophie's story, a story I have been actually begging for since it was initially hinted at.
It's been such a fun ride, getting to meet all these lovely couples and be a part of their love stories. Book ending the series with the two brothers was very smart and this was such a fitting end to a beloved series. Waters has just gotten better and better and her trademark wit is all over this book while also maintaining the magic of what makes a historical romance really shine.
Sophie and West have a love story that travels over seven years and it was such a treat to be able to get so many flashbacks - seeing them fall in love over multiple timelines even if one doesn't end as happily as the other. They have such chemistry on the page together, their banter and tension was a delight. West is so deliciously tortured. There is a lot going on in this book which makes sense as this love story is as tragic as it is lovely and unpacking all of it is a bit of an intense process but ultimately we are left with a lovely and satisfying conclusion to a story that began years ago.
Thank you so much to NetGalley and Atria for the opportunity to read an early copy in exchange for an honest review.

𝐏𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐫: 𝐀𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐚 𝐁𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐬
𝐏𝐮𝐛 𝐃𝐚𝐭𝐞: 𝟐.𝟔.𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒 𝐻𝑎𝑝𝑝𝑦 𝑃𝑢𝑏 𝐷𝑎𝑦!
I enjoyed this series, and this was a satisfying close. But I will miss all the shenanigans of this friend group and their witty banter.
This book circles back around to Sophie - seven years after the first book - if I’m correct. Sophie is now a widow and content, but her sisters are worried she is lonely. Plus, her sister won’t marry until Sophie remarries - enter The Marquess of Weston or West.
Sophie and West had a relationship years ago, but it was curtailed by West’s horrible accident and his meddling father. To satisfy Sophie’s sisters and the rules of society, Sophie and West agree to “fake” an engagement. This time, Sophie is prepared to stand up to West’s father.
I was thankful that the author gave us flashbacks of Sophie and West’s original relationship and all that had transpired. I had forgotten quite a bit; it also helped set the tone for their fake but second-chance romance.
What I love about Waters’ writing is the sassy banter, the humor, the great friendships, and the swoony romances. I admit that I found this book slightly more serious than the others. But I highly recommend this series for romance readers.
Thank you @Atriabooks for the gifted digital ARC.

I have absolutely loved this series and I’m so sad that it’s over! I found this one frustrating but a lovely way to wrap up the series!
West has been one of my favorite characters throughout this series and I was so excited to read his story. He has been a calm steady presence throughout the books and everyone has been waiting for his turn!
I found Sophie quite frustrating in this book. She was annoying with her sisters (hate the miscommunication) and frustrating in her treatment of West.
West saves this book in my opinion. It was fun, I enjoyed the banter and it was a lovely way to wrap up the series.
Thank you to Atria Books and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book! I’d give it 3.75 stars!

Phew! Finally we get West and Sophie's story! This one misses 5 stars because I spent most of the book muttering "Won't you two just have an honest discussion." The lack of openness on Sophie's part was adequately motivated by her circumstances, though. I was glad that Sophie and West had their happy ending, and I enjoyed the OTT nature of the ending, with all of the friends' stories wrapping up satisfyingly.
I can heartily recommend this series to lovers of Regency Romance.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Always a great fun read from Martha Waters, we have her books at the store. She is an author I recommend to people getting ready to fly somewhere for vacation.
