Surprising, I enjoyed West & Sophie’s story a lot. While, it’s not spicy, the makes up in angst and swoon. Definitely a second chance romance worth reading. Plus, I love that this story has a dual timeline that spans seven years, starting with the prologue and leading up to the end.
A fitting end to this delightful series! In this regency romance we get second chance romance, fake dating and visitations from past characters. I’m sad to see this series end.

It was bittersweet saying farewell to all of these characters I've spent time with over the past four years! In To Woo and to Wed, we spend time not only with West and Sophie, but also Violet and James (To Have and to Hoax), Diana and Jeremy (To Love and to Loathe), Emily and Belfry (To Marry and to Meddle), and Jane and Penvale (To Swoon and to Spar), all of whom have had the machinations of others play a major role in their love story.
I appreciated the long burn of seeing Sophie and West throughout the entire series, and watching them finally resolve their misunderstandings and differences made this book especially rewarding.
There was plenty of meddling by West's father, told through in a series of stories beginning at the start of Sophie and West's love affair 7 years prior as well as in the current time of the novel - while he isn't fully redeemed, there is a glimmer of a wink that perhaps his perceptions have changed and he's not as opposed to their union as he once was.
And of course, Sophie as the oldest of 5 sisters, has plenty of meddling and putting-their-oar-in by her sisters as well!
What I liked the best, at the end of the day, was when West and Sophie were able to be open and honest with each other, confessing their hurts and misapprehensions, then working past them together.
A worthy end to the series, and I look forward to seeing what Waters' writes next!
Second chances—possibly!
Second chance romance that has a history of endless possibilities, tragic circumstances and being blackmailed by a Duke.
Sophie, Lady Fitzwilliam Bridewell had given up the man she’d loved to protect her sisters. Drunk and despairing her almost fiancé, West, the Marquess of Weston, had been involved in a curricula race that had ended in tragedy.
Now seven years later, a widow, and it seems Sophie is still trying to give her remaining widowed sister an HEA at the cost of her own happiness.
When West walks back into her life, Sophie decides to embroil him in a mad scheme, only to face the wrath of West’s father the Duke once again.
Will history repeat itself?
A pleasant Regency Romance, if not a tad absurd at times.

Many thanks to the author and publisher.

This book was so fun. Enjoyed the playful characters and the sweet relationships between them. At a time in my life when work has been constant, this book has been such a nice, light respite.
Thank you Atria and NetGalley for a copy of this eARC!
AHHH I LOVE THIS SERIES! I’m sad to see it end, but this was a great end. I’m a sucker for a hero that is so in love with the heroine he would rather be alone than without her and I’m a sucker for a heroine that lives an independent life, enjoying what (and who) she wants when she wants. Second chance romance hasn’t always been my thing, but pair it with a fake engagement and BOOM I’m in. The yearning and the angst is strong with this one and I LOVE! Ugh, hate to see this series go, but I can’t wait to see what Martha Waters brings next!!
A fantastic end to a fantastic series!
"To Woo and to Wed" is the 5th and final installment in Water's Regency Vows series, and what a strong way to tie this series up! West and Sophie lived up to every expectation I had and then some. Their story was the one I was anticipating the most, and their second-chance-romance didn't disappoint. Tender, funny, and swoon-worth romance kept the plot moving, and the writing (as always) knocked it out of the park. If you haven't read this series yet, you absolutely need to! I'm sorry to see these characters go, but I'm excited for what the author has up her sleeve for her next book.
*I received a free ARC of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review
The blurb of this book looked really good and I'm so glad I picked it up. This second chance historical romance is so sweet and full of angst where Sophie and West are concerned. West is full blown in love with Sophie and I just wanted to shake her and tell her to give him a chance because she was breaking his heart over and over again. I understood her though and I get why she did it, but she fought her feelings hard. However, her and West's friendship was fantastic and I loved every scene they had together!
I'll have to go back and read the rest of this series now because I loved all the side characters!
Delightful, full of banter and fun and spice, but a bit too angsty for my taste. Sophie also felt a bit irritating at times but West is a green flag all the way and I loved him completely.
4.5
West and Sophie is a story I have been anticipating since the first book in the Regency Vows series, and it did not disappoint. Angst, tension, and spice were all ramped up for this one, and the epilogue did what any good epilogue at the end of a 5-book series should do: it felt wistful and bittersweet and hopeful and sentimental and like saying goodbye to a friend. There were some plot things that needed to be hand-waved a bit, but the emotional payoff was well worth it, imo.
Also, just a well-deserved shout out to author Martha Waters for achieving the ultimate dream: being a librarian who moonlights as a romance novelist. Icon behavior tbh
It's bittersweet that this is the final book in the Regency Vows series but the book did not disappoint! Sophia and West's story was highly anticipated and the second chance romance between the two was done perfectly.
Rating: 3 Stars⭐️
I love a second chance romance. It’s one of my favorite tropes. This one just missed the mark. I loved West and his longing for Sophie. The flashbacks didn’t work for me they were a distraction. Also,I found the sisters to be annoying. I wanted more of West and Sophie in the present.
Thank you to the publisher for providing the ARC.
As a lover of all things Regency romance, I was very excited to read this book, especially since I've read other books in this series. Despite the fact that it is part of a series and there are references to things that have happened in the previous books, you could read this book as a standalone and be completely fine.
The connection between West and Sophie was palpable, so it definitely annoyed me that Sophie was ultimately the thing standing between their happiness...not once, but multiple times. As the oldest sister of quite a few siblings, I understand the desire to protect them and give them the best, but I agree with her sister who told Sophie that they had parents - it wasn't her job to protect them. At one point, Sophie tells West that he is a martyr, but really, I think she is the one who is a martyr.
While this wasn't my favorite book of the series, I enjoyed the banter between the two MC's, and the ending made my heart happy.
This book was everything that I wanted it to be. I've been so excited for West and Sophie's story for a while now, and this completely exceeded my expectations! This was the perfect conclusion to the series, and it's my favourite book in the series now. Martha Waters' writing just gets better and better with every book! I loved getting to see all of the characters from the previous books together once more, and the dynamic between the characters and the couples was, as usual, such a fun time.
West and Sophie's story was so well written and well fleshed out, and I loved how there were some time skips so we got the whole story of what happened between them in the past, while we were getting the story of what was 'currently' happening between them. The dual timeline doesn't always work for me, but it was perfect in this! There was so much added emotion with the time leaps, and I thought that overall, this book was so well done. I can't wait to see what Martha Waters does next, and I absolutely adored this book :)
It was bittersweet to start the final book of Martha Waters’ terrific RegencyVows series knowing that one of my favorite recently published historical romance series was now coming to an end. After seeing Sophie and West in the background of their friends’ stories it was great to get a book focused on them, learning more about their past and exploring what the future could look like. I would recommend to fans of Julia Quinn, Tessa Dare, or Emily Henry. Thank you to NetGalley and Atria Books for the advanced reader copy.
To Woo and to Wed is the final installment in the Regency Vows series, and while I’m sad this series is over, I think Martha Waters saved the best for last!

Sophia and West has a long history together. They were nearly engaged 7 years ago, but circumstances changed the course of their future. When Sophia’s sister refuses to marry while Sophia is still unwed, she asks West for help.

What a great conclusion to this series! 💜
Such a fun read! Sophie Wexham now widowed is seemingly happy in her life of independence. But when her sister’s happiness is threatened and she might be the cause, she approaches her old flame the Marquess of Weston to fake being engaged to her so she can convince her sister that she’s moving on.
I thought it was a delightful romp with appearances from other characters from this series which made it even more engaging to read. Overall a great read for fans of regency romance with mid level angst.
Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for an ARC!
from the cover to the writing, this is the best in the regency vows series! I really enjoyed the characters, especially West, who was a real sweetie. The ending was really nice, and I especially appreciated that most of the reveals occurred earlier in the book, rather than making the reader wait until the end and being disappointing. The flashback chapters worked pretty well, too. I don't love second chance, but I definitely didn't mind it in this. My least favorite part was probably her interactions with Alexandria, because they just felt too far-fetched in my opinion.
I looooooved this book. I think this will go down as my favorite of the Regency Vows series. Sophie and West’s chemistry was palpable and you can’t help but root for them from prologue to epilogue. I’m sad this series is over, but Martha definitely saved the best for last.
I LOVED THIS BOOK SO MUCH. I’ve read and enjoyed this whole series, and this may have been my favorite one yet. Such a great way to close out the series, so swoony and satisfying and well done. Just adored it.
