2.5 stars rounded up.

Brutal enforcer is a mafia romance, with multiple perspectives and it is Omar and Lyse's story. I thought that this story was pretty typical for a mafia romance, I did not love or hate it. It has the captive/ captor trope and enemies to lovers in it which is always fun. Not a lot about this story stood out. The writing was pretty good and well-paced. Omar and Lyse were, ok but there were not a lot of tension or chemistry, their relationship just kind of happened. Omar did not make a lot of smart decisions in this book and some of them did not make sense, except to make all the other characters mad and had several temper tantrums. I would have really liked more angst and banter between them. It got a little bit repetitive with certain events happening, but it also had good action, drama and high stacks for them. I would recommend this book for those who like a mafia romance with a lot of mafia politics and enemies to lovers, with a good timeline and pretty good story. I found the story for me to just be ok.
I received an advanced ebook, via Netgalley. This review is my own honest opinion.

ARC received for review

It was good, but not as good as the first book. At least this one didn't end on a horrible cliffy.

Brutal Enforcer by Bella Ash is the second book of Castillo Cartell. I received a copy of this book from NetGalley. I didn't read the first book, but it didn't bother me so much. I could still stay on track and be invested in the story of Omar and Lyse. Omar is the Castillo enforcer, called 'Beast', and Lyse is a Rojas. These two families are enemies. After an attack on Omar's brother, in rage, he attacks the Rojas family, killing almost 20 of them in one go. When he finds Lyse, he takes her hostage.
Lyse and Omar seem to have off-the-charts chemistry from the beginning. But he is her kidnapper, and Omar is dangerous. So, Lyse is reluctant to accept her reactions to his presence. Omar behaves like a jerk for the first couple of days of Lyse's captivity, still reeling from the attack on his family. Omar started a dangerous game when he took Lyse, and now the police are looking for him. Their romance starts a little too quickly for my liking, but it is sizzling. The story does have a Romeo and Juliet type of vibe, because their families are enemies, and it comes into play a little later.
I have read my share of Dark Romance, which is what intrigued me about this book. The characters are interesting, and the plot maintains a level of mystery throughout. Omar has primal instincts; he cares about his family and now about Lyse. But, he is slightly impulsive. The romance keeps you interested, and it is steamy. You root for the characters, and I am glad there were no cliffhangers at the end. I did feel the romance was rushed, and we didn't get to see them bond too much. Everything happened too quickly. I could not absorb the emotional aspects as I read. Overall, it is a fascinating dark mafia romance that kept me interested from start to finish.

Thank you NetGalley for the eARC. I had no idea that this was the book series I had been looking for! I read book on e and a similar book at the same time so when this came up on my list, i didn't even get to it before it archived but I purchased it on Amazon and recognized the cover! This book series is just EVERYTHING! This author is so witty! So much action! Such a story line! She thinks of everything! I catch myself chuckling, yelling at characters sometimes and holding my breath at other points1 If you not read the Castillo Cartel series then you need to get off the late freight! This author is going to my list of favorites!

This is book two in the series and Lyse and Omar find a way to work through all of the outer goings on to have a relationship. Though it takes some time there is a story once you get past some of the violence and tension between them. This turns out to be a good story and one worth reading if you like dark mafia books. Good characters and a good story.

Men have always wanted to control me.A beautiful pawn in their brutal game. They keep me in a gilded cage.First, my ruthless father. Then the man my father picked to marry me.And finally, my kidnapper, Omar Castillo. The Castillo family’s brutal enforcer. The Beast. They say there’s not a family in Miami that hasn’t been touched by his bloodshed.Including mine.He single-handedly put twenty of the Rojas cartel in the ground. Now, he’s locked me up, far away from the city.Threatening to do unspeakable things to me.Telling me he has a taste for Rojas blood. He says he'll kill me... and I believe him.But I won't believe the filthy thoughts I'm having about him.The chills he sends through my traitorous body. The hunger in his eyes for more than just my blood.I have to escape. But the only way to get off his island prison is through him. To make him believe I want him.Omar underestimates me.Everyone always has. They see a pawn, but that's their mistake.I will burn this island to the ground before I give in.

It was an amazing read. I finished this book in one day. The story is action-packed.

4 Stars for Brutal Enforcer by Bella Ash

This is a dark mafia romance. Omar is the enforcer of the Castillo family The Beast. Lyse is caught in his sights and not in a good way.

A good mafia read of warring families , unexpected feelings , broken engagements and a heroine that doesn’t give in ! There is great chemistry and a happily ever after!.

I received a free copy of this book via Netgalley and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Firstly, this sequel was a quick read for me as I read this in between my free time. Of course in a mafia romance book, there's gonna be a lot of smut scenes which I found a bit uncomfortable as I don't like smuts but other than that it was enjoyable. The plot was a bit confusing at first but it all started to become clearer as the story went on. I must say that I didn't really bought Omar and Lyse's chemistry not until a few chapters before the story ends. But it was a good work trying to bind them two along the story until it became believable to me that they both were so in love. Other than that, the story was a so-so for me, I did enjoyed it but I also came across certain chapters that were a bit flat for me. So it's gonna be a 3 star for me.

Two mafia families have been battling with each other in Miami for many years. Omar and Lyse’s relationship will have you swooning over them throughout this incredible book. It’s action-packed, full of mob related business and kidnapping. This is my first time reading a book by Bella Ash and it is not my last since I read the 1st book in this series. each can be read as a standalone but wouldn’t recommend it, and there's no cliffhanger here yay!!

Thank you, NetGalley, for giving me a free copy.

Brutal Enforcer is book two of the Castillo Cartel series. Lyse and Omar have great chemistry and they navigate their complicated relationship in interesting ways. I did not read book one of this series but I will probably go back to check it out.

A big thank you to NetGalley and Relay Publishing for the eARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This is a fairly dark mafia romance. This is the 2nd book in the series, and can easily be read as a stand alone. The characters from the first book (which I have not read) are in the background. This is not my favorite genre and I am still uncertain about this book. I liked the characters individually-but I didn't sense the chemistry between them. I was surprised at his brother's Angels attitude. But I must say if I had to chose between Felix (her ex fiance-and a real creeper) and Omar there was no hesitation on who I would chose. 3.5 stars

Brutal Enforcer is the second book in the Castillo Cartel series by Bella Ash. This author is pretty new to me, but I was captivated with the Castillo family from the beginning. The previous book, Vicious Heir, ended in a cliffhanger and this book picks up from there. This is Omar Castillo’s story, but Angel and Emma’s story continues in the background. I was so excited for Omar’s story and it was just as good as I expected. I loved seeing the big bad Castillo family’s enforcer fall for Lyse Rojas, the enemy’s daughter. This book also ends on a cliffhanger and I cannot wait for the next book.

Revenge is a bittersweet double-edged sword.
Omar is out for revenge on the Rojas family for ambushing his brother. He wanted death and destruction but never intended to take a hostage. Lyse Rojas, the daughter of the head of the Rojas family, is his captive. Let's just say things don't exactly go as planned or unplanned.
Holy moly things are fiery!

And in true Castillo Cartel trilogy/series fashion, we are left with a cliffhanger!! NOOO! I swear Bella Ash is an evil genius! So, yet again, I'm on the edge of my seat and so excited for the next book!

Brutal Enforcer is a well written dark, mafia/cartel romance.

This book follows Omar and Lyse's relationship after he kidnaps her to get revenge on her family.

I really enjoyed this book; it was filled with action, romance and drama. I was gripped the entire time I was reading it!

I hadn't read the first instalment of this series; but there was plenty of context throughout the book. The book does end on a cliffhanger - which is the perfect set up for the next instalment!

This book was really fun & enjoyable! It was a quick read for me, finishing it all in one sitting. This book was super fast paced, parts of which I felt were happening a little too quickly as I was reading. I think outside of those few spots within the book, the rest was really fun and enjoyable. This is definitely a mafia romance book, although I found it wasn't as dark as I expected, which was a nice change of pace compared to other books I've read.

The characters were really cute with each other and definitely had some chemistry that the author did a really great job at capturing!

Thank you NetGalley for the eARC in exchange for an honest review!
