Love this thriller! The story about a woman who is falsely accused by a group of mean girls and has to prove herself innocent while serving her own vengeance. I was definitely hooked from start to finish on this one. Such a great book!
Vero and Javi are two of my favorite Finlay characters. I loved getting a bit more backstory on these two. This short story just made me love them even more!
Adored this glimpse into Vero’s life before Finlay and also meeting Finlay and the kids. This was a quick and funny read with all of Elle Cosimano signature charm.
I love, love, love the Finlay Donovan series. It's relatable, comical, thrilling and a LOT of fun. I'm very excited to re-read these in anticipation of Finlay Donovan Digs Her Grave. Publishing March 4, 2025!
Thank you NetGalley and St Martin's Press for re-opening the series, including the new upcoming book, for download!
This is an entertaining novella, giving us a glimpse of the other part of the Findlay duo!
If you have enjoyed the Findlay Donovan series, this will fill in some information on why things happened the way they do in those stories.
If you haven't yet enjoyed those, pick up this one, and then Findlay Donovan is killing it, and enjoy.
I received a complimentary copy from Netgalley, and voluntarily leave my review.
I loved this novella so much. It gave us the back story of Finlays partner in crime Verno. We see her meet finlay for the first time. As well as what happened with her and the sorority. I just love this book series so much.
I am so glad to learn more about Vero and how she met Finlay before jumping into the next Finlay book in the series. Vero has long been one of my favorite parts of the Finlay series. Her dynamic with Finlay is fantastic. And we have had little gleams of her backstory. This novella stood on its own wonderfully. But more than that, it helped set up the next books in the series even better.
So so so fun to get a different perspective! I love this series and hope they give us books in everyone’s perspective! Such a fun series and I hope it will continue! If you loved Good Girls, you’ll love these books!
Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC!
Vero gets a backstory!
Loved this short story/novella in which we travel back in time to learn more about Vero and her ways including her relationship with her cousin and her cousin's best friend...we love a little romance with our mysteries!
It is no wonder Vero is the best side-kick and partner in crime to Finlay after we see she has been scrappy, scheming all along!
This was such a cute read!
I loved following along on the journey, trying to figure out who the culprit was!
I did laugh a few times 😅
I’ve never read any of the Finlay Donovan series, but this may just change that.
Such a fun and cute Novella! I just can’t get enough Vero. This one was more into her backstory and I enjoy learning much more about her character. Definitely meant for fans of the book series and shouldn’t be read alone.
Worth reading if only to see just how Vero got into Finlay's life. A very quick afternoon read. (As a short story should be, tho this is more novella length.)
I don't love novellas, but this was a good background store. Vero is my favorite so I was thrilled to get more from her. I would read anything in this series.
Veronica Ruiz Breaks the Bank is a short read that gives us a backstory for Vero, the partner in crazy adventures with Finlay Donovan, with also an appearance of her cousin and boyfriend.
Similarly written as rest of the Finlay Donovan series and just as enjoyable.
A short backstory on Finlay's sidekick, Vero. This delves into more details about Vero's life prior to meeting Finlay and the events leading up to their meeting. A nice and quick backstory to help fill in some missing puzzle pieces in the Finlay Donovan series.
Thanks to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press | Minotaur Books for a digital copy in exchange for my honest review.
This is the perfect novella for Veroz story - I love this series and I'm happy to get a little more background on Vero!
The short story all Vero and Finlay fans have been waiting for! Vero’s backstory - including some of her history with Javier - is explained in the months leading up to her meeting Finlay and her family. A fun, suspenseful, and entertaining read that’s perfect for fans of this series. I received an advanced reading copy, receipt of which did not impact my review.
Veronica Ruiz Breaks the Bank was a fun, short origin story for Veronica from the Finlay Donovan series. It details what landed her in hot water and how the crazy saga started. It is as enjoyable as the rest of the series.
Finally we get Vero’s backstory. All my favorite characters make an appearance to round out this novella. This was a cute, fun, and quick read.

Vero is my very favorite character in the Finlay Donovan series, so I loved getting a glimpse into her past. Vero keeps her secrets tucked close to her chest, so her POV novella filled in some blanks for the rest of the series.
