I was expecting a longer book so when I got to the last page I was a little surprised.
This is definitely intended for children with some recipes related to Halloween and some just being fall recipes. They are easy to understand so perfect for getting the kids to help in the kitchen.

If you have a kid who wants to learn to bake, this might be the book for them. The recipes have detailed step-by-step instructions with pictures to help you. Most of the treats are easy and could be customized in any way you prefer. Easy to follow and everything looks delicious.

My biggest problem with this is that its really short with just a handful of recipes. I, personally, would pass on it if I needed to buy it knowing that. If it had more, it'd be worth it.

What a fantastic book to use alongside children for cooking and baking at Halloween. It has very clear, simple and child-friendly photographs to help guide the child step by step through each dish. The recipes are full of fun, creative, and also delicious. There’s a good range of savoury and sweet recipes, and easy and more complex. The language is very child friendly, and has a good introduction.
Would definitely recommend.

Short and spooky Halloween recipe cookbook. Perfect for new little cooks. The recipes are super simple and give very detailed directions. I mean one recipe is reaching to be Halloween (it’s broken gingerbread people) but kids won’t mind. Plus you have a winter recipe too.

Short sweet recipe book of fun Trats to make for Halloween! I think the recipes are diverse and simple enough vfor kids to make with a bit of growne-up help. Cookies, cupcakes, caramel apples and even gingerbread men, can bw found in this book. I especially liked the section on pumpkin seeds. When I needed a recipe many years before the internet, I had to ask around nomng my friend's moms to finally get a recipe! This book has one! I thought the inclusion of an equipment chapter was handy for budding bakers and cooks. Good start for a beginning baker. Liked the photos, too. It would make a fine gift for someone who loves baking and Halloween.

This adorable Halloween book includes fun treats to make. The recipes are simple enough and would be a lot of fun for kids to make. These would be great treats for a Halloween party too. I definitely recommend!

Halloween is a great holiday, you can make and bake wonderful creations. This book has wonderful and simple recipes for Halloween. I just wish the book was longer.

This is a good short cookbook for kids who would like to make some seasonal recipes at Halloween. The recipes are savory and sweet, with detailed instructions with photos of all the steps. I appreciated the inclusion of healthy recipes like soup, bean and corn dip, and roasted pumpkin seeds, but I would have liked for those to have more of a Halloween theme— perhaps make the soup look spooky with something on top that looked like eyeballs, for instance. I also was hoping for flavors for the pumpkin seeds.

It’s pretty standard recipes (caramel apples, witch‘s finger cookies, etc) but we’ll laid out for beginner cooks. At 16 recipes, there is not a huge selection, but kids may find some fun ideas and learn some kitchen skills.

This is a cute and has some good recipes but most of them seem like ones that I wouldn't take the time to make. I want recipes that are just a few steps and don't take long to make. If you have older kids (7-12) I think this would be great for them and a fun way to celebrate the season!

Even though it's quite short, I really appreciate this book. The photography is nice and clean and I love that it's kid friendly. I also really like that there are savory recipes included and it's not just sweet stuff, so there's something for everyone. I would highly recommend this to people whose kids have started showing interest in cooking/baking. The Halloween theme is an added bonus.

Although my daughter is currently too young to do much in the kitchen, I do plan to utilize this fun Halloween cookbook in the future when she's older! I appreciated that there were sweet and savory recipes included and the pictures make it feel even more inviting to try the recipes together. Some recipes looked a little more complicated but all of the ingredients should be very easy to get if you don't already have them on hand!

This book has a nice combination of savory and sweet recipes. Although it seems to be written for children (“have an adult help you to …), there are a lot of words on the pages and some higher level words, confusing me about the intended audience. Regardless, the pictures are good, the recipes, very simple, and the ingredients are nothing exotic. It seems like they are easy to make and the results come out looking similar to the intention.

Super cute cover that draws in the curious, creative chef! While designed for younger chefs just starting out the kitchen, the creativity will please those of all ages. A quick history on Halloween and then it jumps right into kitchen essentials and key cooking techniques.

Every recipe offers the ingredients with words and pictures. Equipment is also written in words and drawings are provided. When skills require supervision there is a reminder to make sure an adult if present or able to assist.

Recipes are easy to follow and most require less than 10 steps for completion. Pictures are provided as well as variations.

All in all, just a fun, family, festive cookbook.

Well, for starters, we don't really have halloween in my country but I've seen halloween in movies and tv shows. I think this book would be great for bonding with your child wanting to dip their fingers in cooking. There are many tips and the book is addressed to children. However, you don't need children to follow the recipes, they look really great and yummy and halloweeny.

I love Halloween treats, so I knew I had to check this book out. The book is short with recipes for fifteen items. It includes sweet treats and savory treats, including pumpkin seeds and soup. The instructions are easy to follow and each recipe includes a large photo for reference. I look forward to trying these recipes with my young son.

I was definitely curious when I spotted this book up on Netgalley. It is almost time for Halloween when I requested (and read) this one and I thought it would be fun! Give me some spooky recipes!

But I have to say, honestly. While I do think that pumpkin soup and pumpkin seeds and dips fit the Halloween theme, I had expected TREATS. Aka, chocolates, muffins, cupcakes, sweets. Now it was 50% what I expected and 50% not treats. At least not the treats I expected. And I cannot imagine that there is a kid in the world who goes WHOOHOO over pumpkin soup as a treat. Haha. Or maybe I am biased because I absolutely don't like pumpkin as food. 😆

So yeah, I did like the witch's finger cookies (though I would have to think of something else to use as a nail as I am allergic to almonds), I loved the gruesome cookie people (though I would add some more red), the candy eyeball cakes looked fun to make (and also yummy), and while I cannot eat the Caramel Apples (very badly allergic to raw apples and not able to eat much if they are heated) they did look like a lot of fun and I loved that you an customize them however you want! From candy to making a face to decorating it so much you don't recognise the apple, it was fun!

I liked the photographs with each recipe along with tips and introduction on the food. And I love that the border around the book was orange with spiderwebs, really adding to that Halloween vibe!

Oh, and I was confused, as the gruesome cookie people looked like they were gingerbread cookies, whereas the recipe is just more of a sand/normal cookie.

And boy, I am glad that I found some measuring cups at a store here because I definitely want to try out the cookies and cupcake, but we don't do stuff by measuring cups. We just measure grammes and that stuff.

All in all, I did have fun reading this one, I just had expected more treats! I would still recommend it for the treats, and if you are happy with pumpkin soup, haha.

Great book with fun Halloween recipes for the all family!
It's a short book when compared with other cookbooks but it's easy enough to follow and I'm sure the recipes are entertaining to make with kids and great to have in an Halloween party.

Coming in at a tiny thirty two pages in length, I'm not even sure this classes as a recipe book or pamphlet?

Either way it's actually quite good for any budding chef or chefettes you have in the family. The recipes of which there are fifteen in total, are concise with their ingredient and utensils needed. The recipes while clearly written for an American audience were easy to follow.

And the winner for me was that each recipe actually shows a colour photograph of what the finished item looks like enabling your little chefs to recreate their favourite Halloween treats.

This is a fun, short, sweet and simple guide to taking some everyday recipes and giving them a Halloween makeover. It has recipes for cookies shaped as witch's fingers, a spiced-up version of pumpkin seeds and some other creative treats.
