Evolet Grey, a temporary executive assistant, is assigned to help Damon Bradford win a crucial contract for his company. Despite her professional skills, Evolet finds herself drawn to Damon, who is determined to keep their relationship strictly business due to past trauma. As they work together, their attraction grows, but both must grapple with the potential risks of pursuing a temporary romance. Evolet also strives to fulfill her dream of playing the cello in an orchestra while navigating her feelings for Damon. Overall, it is a light and easy read tome.

A love story that has both main characters not looking for love. Each has been hurt in the past and so they are both just about work. Yet along the way they begin to have feelings for one another and must deal with them one way or the other. A good story for a romance book with good characters.

Thank you Netgalley for the ARC. I have read a Harlequin book after a long time, and I really enjoyed it.
Damon and Evolet have both suffered losses in the past that have made them put up walls with trusting and loving someone. But after they meet each other, keeping the walls in place seem to be a losing task. I enjoyed their journey to HEA, their banter and their chemistry.
A quick fund read !

BLURB:
Will the CEO be able to resist when she lays her passion on the boardroom table? Find out in this steamy office romance from Emmy Grayson .

He’s utterly off-limits…
and the only man she’s ever wanted!

Temporary assistant Evolet Grey has precisely the skills and experience to help Damon Bradford win the biggest contract in his company’s history. But she’s also maddeningly attractive and testing the iron grip the Manhattan CEO always has on his self-control…

Putting her needs first has never come easily to innocent Evolet. But she can barely think straight in her new boss’s presence! She’d be putting everything on the line by revealing the powerful attraction Damon has awoken, but would walking away from it be the biggest risk of all?

From Harlequin Escape to exotic locations where passion knows no bounds.

REVIEW:
I love a Harlequin book; you know exactly what you are going to get. From the popular tropes and the common, often used plots, to the required happy ending.

A simple, light read, easily finished in an hour.

Thank you to NetGalley for a copy of this in return for my review.

Damon and Evolet both haven’t had an easy life and suffered losses that leads them to be very careful about trusting and loving someone. But their chemistry is undeniable and working together helps ignite the spark even more…

I enjoyed reading this book very much and would recommend it to all lovers of a classic and steamy workplace billionaire romance.

As Evolet works towards playing the cello in an orchestra, she pays the bills by working at a temp agency as an executive assistant. When she arrives for her new assignment, she is surprised to find out her new boss is the man she met briefly the night before and hasn’t been able to forget.

After a devastating loss Damon is determined to never feel that pain again and is focused on ensuring the success of the family business. As long as they both understand that anything between them could only be temporary, he may be open to exploring the attraction between them but that is all he is able to give.

I enjoyed seeing Damon open his heart to Evolet and realize that the reward of being with her would be worth the risk.

Emmy Grayson brings us the story of Evolet who has come to Damon as a temporary assistant while trying to win an important contract. Things get blurry when proximity brings about attraction. When a deal is set between them, they find it hard to concentrate on work. They both have to figure out what is important once they give in to temptation. Will they be able to find the happiness, love, and security they both crave or will their past get in the way?

Go along as Emmy brings us on their journey. When Evolet comes into Damon's life, everything changes. Follow along as they both have to figure out what they really want out of life and what is worth fighting for. I enjoyed their story and look forward to more stories from this author.

I would like to thank NetGalley and Harlequin Presents for this privilege.

This was really cute and I wish it was longer. They were both so dumb and I loved it. The way Damon described what he wanted in his arrangement with Evie, which was a relationship, but said he didn't want one was so funny.

I received an arc through netgalley.
