Five Gold Rings has a promising story and I'd recommend it as a cute holiday read (I even think it would make a fantastic Hallmark like movie!!), however.. I wish I had read this with my eyes instead of my ears. This is a dual POV book, but only one female narrator who really doesn't have much of a voice change and is not particularly captivating because of this. It was very difficult to listen to it all the way through and remain engaged and knowing who's POV we were with.
4 Stars for the story, only 2 stars for the audio experience.
Thank you to Dreamscape Select, Storm Publishing and NetGalley for this ALC
This was a really cute story, but I found myself forgetting I was listening to anything multiple times, having to scrub back and figure where I zoned out at. It didn't hold my attention.
I think this book MAY have been really cute. The storyline was cute, and I love anything British. But unfortunately, the narrator sort of ruined the book for me. Since it was dual POV, it really needed a second narrator. Outside of that, the lone female narrator really did not change her voice at all for the male character, often leaving me confused as to whose point of view I was listening to and really just muddling the whole story for me. I have been recommending people read this one with their eyes instead of their ears.
Thank you Netgalley and Dreamscape Select for the ALC.

Five Gold Rings is a cute holiday romance. It follows Eve and Joe, two co-workers tasked with fixing a shipping issue with five engagement rings before Christmas. This was very cute with perfect narration by Harrie Dobby. It is perfect for the holiday season and full of romance and fun.

I really enjoyed this. The plot was a lot of fun and the main characters were really relatable, realistic and endearing. The story was full of heart and warmth and told really well. The pacing was great and it flowed well. I loved the elements of humor in the book and it mixed well with some heartwarming moments. Joe and Eve had a great connection and I rooted for them from the start.
A lovely festive read.
This is the book version of almost any lifetime movie, I am here for it. Was it cringy and way too dramatic, of course. But thats the reason why we eat it up. My only complaint is that it was hard to tell the transition from the characters point of views. Overall 3/5
This is a nice feel-good Christmas romance. It starts with Eve’s world falling apart when she catches her fiancé in the shower with another woman. It looks like it’s going to be the worst Christmas ever, but then as she goes on a quest to deliver 5 rings to different couples in love with her co-worker Joe, she discovers love is worth pursuing.
It was a fun book and the adventures were sweet and put a smile on my face. I think if you love Christmas romances, this is one you should consider reading. The story happens over 3 days. Can you discover true love in 3 days? There’s one way to find out.
I want to thank NetGalley and Storm Publishing for a copy of the audiobook. The narrator, Harrie Donny, did a wonderful job. This opinion is freely given.
Thank you so much to Netgalley and the publisher for the chance to listen to and review this audiobook.
Five Gold Rings was a fun holiday story full of laughter, heart and romance. I really enjoyed listening to the story of Joe and Eve as they work to quickly deliver five packages from the jewellers they work at, finding themselves in humorous situations along the way. The narrators voice was lovely and make listening an absolute pleasure.
This story filled my heart with joy. It's such a cozy story and brings with it all the magic of Christmas. I love Christmas, and that alone is a reason to fall in love with this story.
It is about Eve, who 3 days before Christmas, comes home and finds her boyfriend in the shower with another woman. Her heart is broken into thousands pieces, so she seeks refuge in her workplace, a jewelry store. Her boss sees that this is the perfect opportunity to pair Eve with Joe, another employee at the store. And so the adventure of these two characters begins, they get together and do their bosses a favor to deliver 5 rings to their rightful owners. With every ring there is a hilarious adventure. The relationship between these two becomes increasingly close. I simply loved Eve and Joe, they are rich and passionate characters. This is the perfect love story to warm up this Christmas. I recoow of a doubt to anyone who loves this season.mmend it without a shadow of a doubt to anyone who loves this season.

Kristen Bailey's Christmas romance is a sweet read. Eve's come home early from a conference only to find her longtime boyfriend in the shower with another woman. Meanwhile, Joe, her coworker and friend, is home practicing how he'll tell Eve that he has feelings for her. When their bosses at the jewelry store team them up to deliver 5 wedding rings on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, they know exactly what they're doing. The forced proximity shows Eve that maybe she was wrong about her ex all along and the right person for her was there the whole time.
Eve has had a rough start to the holiday period. Finding her boyfriend has been cheating on her for 6 months and that he was going to going to propose to her was all too much for Eve. She runs to the only place away from home where she feels loved and safe, the place she works, Caspar Jewellery. When an error at the jewellery store sees 5 rings go to the wrong place, Eve must embark on a journey to get the rings to their rightful owners before Christmas. Eve won't be alone on her adventure, she will be with her very nice workmate, Joe.
Joe is a bit of a lost soul. Has been ever since his father got very ill with liver cancer. Since then, he has had numerous part time jobs, including being a 'buff butler' for hire and working at the Caspar's jewellery store with Eve. A girl that Joe has loved for so long. When Joe gets a call from Mrs Caspar to come to the shop, he doesn't hesitate. In his sexy elf costume, he and a tipsy/drunk Eve head out to retrieve and deliver the rings.
What is in store for them with each ring? Can Joe reveal his feelings to Eve? And how is Eve coping with all of this since her heart has been broken?
This is a love story full of love. I listened to this as an audiobook and there were a couple of times I had to stop what I was doing to have a little cry. The five rings and their stories are such a delight. Eve and Joe are such wonderful characters, and listening to them grow throughout the story is delightful. A lovely Christmas listen.
Big thanks to NetGalley, Dreamscape select, Storm publishing and Kirsten Bailey for this early release copy in exchange for my honest review.
Five Gold Rings was a sweet and fun holiday read. It gave me all of the Love, Actually vibes and I really enjoyed the cute storylines. 4/5 from me!
A perfectly splendid Christmas romance. Lovely main characters. The best “revenge toss” I have ever read. Even a reference to earlier book characters which made me smile. Delightful.
2.5 stars
The blurb does a good job of setting up the plot for the book so I won’t rehash. The execution didn’t really work for me, in part because it needed to have different narrators for the two main characters.
Thank you to NetGalley for this delightful read! This book was a perfect lead in to the holidays. Eve and Joe are characters that you quickly (over the course of Christmas Eve and Christmas Day) fall in love with. This book has all of the holiday cheer of a feel good love story a bit of satisfactory revenge and all of the “meaning of Christmas” vibes that you could hope for. Can be shared with readers of all ages. There is zero steam but maximum Hallmark feels.
This was hilarious. I love Eve and Chris and the Love Actually vibes of this book. This is one that I will listen to again and again and again. If you love a holiday heartwarming romance, this is for you!
Recommend!
I really enjoyed this book. It was a fun easy read rom-com. Great characters and an interesting quirky story. Perfect for your light hearted reading this festive period. The epilogue at the end was nice, it would of been good to hear what happened to the side characters we met along the way as well.
I had the audiobook version. The narrator was clear and easy to listen to. However as the story was told alternating between the male and female leads, I feel it would of flowed better with a male and female narrator. As sometimes it was hard to follow which character was talking.
Five Gold Rings
Kristen Bailey
Eve was shocked when she walked in and found her boyfriend and a naked woman in the shower.
In her anger she starts throwing away the gifts she purchased for his family, then she discovers the gift Chris bought for her, from the jewelry store where she works. Why would Chris buy her an engagement ring and then cheat on her. Eve shares her woes with her employers, Mr. and Mrs. Caspars; they know just who she needs, Joe, a fellow employee that is in love with Eve. It seems everyone knows he loves her except Eve. Joe rushes to her side to offer her comfort. There was a big mistake at the jewelry store, five gold rings had been sent to the wrong address. Someone’s Christmas proposals will be ruined if Joe and Eve do not manage to right the wrong. It is up to Eve and Joe to locate the rings and take them to the correct person. As they deliver the rings to the proper persons we witness true love as it comes in several forms.
Author Kristen Bailey will have you laughing out loud as you read her Christmas romance, Five Gold Rings. I couldn’t help but love the characters. This story is told from two points of view. This book is sweet, funny and cute. It was not written to be profound or reflective. This is the type of book that makes you feel good. I call it escapism. This book will put you in a great mood and put you in the Christmas Spirit.
Thank you NetGalley for providing me with a review copy. My reviews are my personal opinion.
Thank you NetGalley for this ARC.
Such a funny holiday book. I enjoyed it. I did almost DNF it but I kept going and I actually enjoyed it.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for providing me with a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!
Eve loves the Christmas season, but when she catches her boyfriend with another woman just days before Christmas, she is sent into a tailspin. In efforts to distract herself, she offers to hand-deliver the last set of engagement rings before the holiday for the jewelry store she works for. The help of her coworker Joe is an unexpected joy, and Eve finds herself having a change of heart.
Five Gold Rings is the perfect holiday rom-com! It was very sweet story that would make an amazing holiday movie. Joe is the most cinnamon roll love interest ever, and can we just talk about how he was in a sexy elf costume for like the first quarter of the book? That is everything. It is kind of a slice of life story, occurring over just a few days, and I liked the premise of delivering the rings. It had Love Actually vibes, but instead of interconnected storylines we follow two main characters and multiple very sweet side vignettes. I think the pacing could have been better to bit to give us a little more time at the end, and more emotional development for the characters. Recommended for readers looking for a funny and poignant Christmas romance!
