This story starts with Eve finding her long-time boyfriend in a compromising position with another woman.....in her shower. Instead of apologizing, he tells her she's home early. There is little to no remorse. Instead he looks for ways to gas light her by acting as if it's all her fault because she didn't come home at the time he expected. Left licking her wounds after kicking her ex and his girlfriend out of her home, Eve is heartbroken and it's almost Christmas.
After a mixup at the jewelry store where she works part-time, Eve and her fellow co-worker, Joe are enlisted to try to make things right and deliver the five rings before Christmas. Along the way, Eve finds that Joe is a wonderful man who treats not just her, but others with so much respect and caring. It opens her eyes to the fact that her ex boyfriend was nowhere close to Joe as far as character is concerned. And he definitely didn't prioritize her enough.
Also, unbeknownst to Eve, Joe has had a crush on her for a long time and he's been fighting it. He knows she's not in the right headspace for him to tell her that now. Yet, his actions talk for him if only she'd pay attention.
This was such a sweet story. I really enjoy Kristen Bailey's books - - and this one might just be my favorite one so far.
AUDIOBOOK REVIEW: The audio version was quite enjoyable with solid narration that fit the personalities of the characters. It really flowed and kept me immersed in the book. 4 stars
Thank you to NetGalley for early copies of both the ebook and audiobook. I voluntarily chose to review them both and the opinions contained within are my own.
It hooked me on the first line but then fell a little flat for me. I still enjoyed it though! I think I need to read it as a book because the audio - I liked the narrator but sometimes was difficult to follow along with.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.
This book made me giggle right off the bat with Joe and his elf stripper costume. This book had so much humor in it that really added to the events of the book. The quest that Eve and Joe are on to deliver rings on Christmas was so sweet and filled with so much love and romance. This book was such a sweet holiday read.
I loved this book so much!
When I first requested Five Gold Rings my expectation was that it would be a cute holiday read with some Hallmark-esque vibes. It was so much more than I bargained for. It had all the feels and even had me crying at one point (which I was NOT expecting!).
The relationship between the main MCs felt incredibly genuine, even though it developed quickly. My favourite parts were seeing how their interactions with each of the five ring recipients helped them to learn a bit more about themselves.
I would recommend this to anyone looking for a feel good holiday read. It will make you laugh, rage, cry - you'll feel all of the feels! I am so excited to read more from Kristen.
While the story was five stars, I thought the audio version could have been enhanced by having two narrators. With only one narrator it became confusing to keep up with the POV changes between Eve and Joe.
Thank you to NetGalley, Kristen Bailey and Dreamscape Select for an advance copy. These are my honest thoughts.
A. cute story filled with plenty of Christmas details and a sweet romance. The audio book is very well read.
After her boyfriend's betrayal, Eve seeks comfort from her caring bosses at the jewelry store where she works. She joins coworker Joe, who's not so secretly in love with her, in delivering rings meant for Christmas proposals and weddings. It’s a perfect set up for a holiday rom com and it fully lived up to my expectations. It was a cute and delightful holiday read. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC for a review. I will be recommending this to friends and family for the holiday season!
Eve's Christmas is not going well! She returned home early to discover her boyfriend having a celebration of his own with someone else. After throwing things out of the window and Chris and his coworker out of the flat she discovers a ring. She heads to the jewelry store where she works and feels safe for some answers and comfort. The Caspars adore Eve and after a delivery goes astray they device a plan to distract her. Joe works at the jewelry store and when he finds out Eve needs help he answers the call, he's been more attracted to her than he should be. Together Eve and Joe must deliver 5 gold rings to their celebration by Christmas. What begins as 5 simple deliveries becomes much more as Eve and Joe discover things about themselves, each other, and ultimately about love.
This was wonderful! I listened to it on audio and enjoyed the narrator. At times the misadventures of Eve and Joe had me laughing out loud. I cared about them and was glad to be part of their adventures.
Cute but a bit dull, I feel like it could have been a novella and the chemistry between the two could have been better.
Many thanks to NetGalley, Storm Publishing, and Dreamscape Select for gifting me both a digital and audio ARC of the new book by Kristen Bailey, perfectly narrated by Harrie Dobby, and for allowing me to take part in the book tour - 5 stars!
Right before Christmas, Eve finds her boyfriend in the shower - with another woman. So while her perfectly wrapped presents for his family sit under the tree awaiting their arrival at his big family party, Eve reacts by throwing all his things out their window. She also finds a surprise present for her in the mix - a ring bought at the jewelry store where she works. She flees there looking for comfort from the owners. But the owners have their own issues - some mixups and 5 rings left to deliver before Christmas. They enlist another coworker, Joe, who has secretly been in love with Eve, to help deliver the rings.
Even though it's almost Halloween and I should be reading scary books, it's never to early for Christmas stories, right? Especially when they are filled with laughs, heartfelt moments, and lots of crazy situations. You'll travel along in Joe's old Mini while the pair deliver the rings and make Christmas magic. The characters are wonderful and you'll be rooting for all of them. The narration was pitch perfect too - including the singing! A must read going into Christmas from the author of the hilarious and sweet Sex Ed!
This book was a fun adventure that everyone needs to read this holiday!
Eve and Joe take us on an emotional roller coaster delivering 5 rings for the shop they work at. Each on an adventure in their own right and showing the readers that hope, love, and Christmas cheer do still exist.
The writing on this was incredible. The love story was a slow burn but very realistic. I loved the love that the author created throughout, not just with the main characters, but with all the intertwining love stories.
This book was so fun, so in the spirit, and a fast read. I highly recommend to anyone to get themselves in the holiday spirit. Thank you to Kristen Bailey and NetGalley for the advanced copy!
FIve Gold Rings is a hilarious laugh-out-loud kind of story.
A story of 2 perspectives (Eve - who was blindsided when she found her boyfriend in the shower with a woman on her knees) and Joe (Eve's workmates who freelances as a sexy elf in his downtime).
The perfectly funny Christmas romance - exactly what you've been asking Santa for!
4 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Special thanks to Netgalley for providing me with this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.
This holiday romance was a delightful surprise. It started off with an awful breakup which made you right away want to root for Eve - knowing that she deserved so much better.
The story really started to pick up for me once Eve and Joe started their ring deliveries. One odd event after another they bond and find out so much about each other. There were definitely parts that made me chuckle, parts where I was cheering for our love-lorn Joe, and lots of fun side characters.
The pacing wasn't perfect, and neither was the book overall, and yet I still gave it five stars because it left me feeling all warm and fuzzy, it had a perfect Christmas vibe, and I really adored the slightly untraditional epilogue.
Calling all Love, Actually fans! If you love that movie (like me), I think you’ll really love this book, too!! It was so much fun! After dramatic opening scene that the author manages to make funny… Eve and Joe set off to hand deliver 5 important rings before Christmas. Tons of LOL moments, lots of swooning over Joe (the sweetest guy!), fun road trip style romance - it’s a great one to add to your holiday reading!!
🎧This rarely happens, but I will say I recommend the physical or ebook over the audiobook here. I REALLY wish there had been a male narrator for Joe’s chapters. I struggled with the same voice for both POVs.
This book is so much fun and ticks all the books for a Christmas rom com - uplifting, fun and romantic without being cheesy. I loved the offbeat and original characters and the great banter between Eve and Joe as they explore love, in all its forms, as they deliver the rings. It’s a clean romance, but still has plenty of chemistry between the two main characters. It’s just the thing to get you in the mood for the festive season.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the advanced audio arc! This is a perfect Christmas novel. The entire time I listened, I kept thinking this would be a perfect "Hallmark" movie ❤️ Love gone wrong, mixed with melding friends who cook up the perfect situation to show the main character that true love has been right in front of her the whole time!

This book is literally everything and will quite possibly be my favorite holiday read. I’ve only read a few so far but guys, this book is just amazing.

This story focuses on Eve and her coworker Joe as they attempt to deliver five gifts after a mishap at work. This story takes place over three days and in a dual point of view of Eve and Joe. Joe is unbelievably swoon worthy and I think I just found my new favorite book boyfriend. Eve is such a sweetheart who is overcoming heartbreak.

This book is the definition of romcom. Guys, I was CACKLING at parts of this book. There were so many parts that I found myself actually laughing out loud and a few times I almost spit out my drink at what was said/what happened. My favorite was the part at a Christmas party (IYKYK).

This is a clean romance and this one has some great tropes within the romance genre. I noted close proximity / friends to lovers / miscommunication. All of these meshed so perfectly together. This book was such a bingable read that I read this one in one sitting. It was so addicting. Five Gold Rings has it all, a heartwarming story, some heartbreaking parts, some laugh out loud moments and overall a truly beautiful story of love.

I listened to this one while reading along with it. It was narrated by Harrie Dobby and she was great at playing both roles, though my personal preference is to have dual narrators when there are dual POVs. But she did keep my attention.
•
Overall this is the perfect holiday read and I cannot rave about it enough! Seriously, if this book doesn’t become a series or movie on Netflix or Hulu or something I am going to rage - I need this to be brought to the screens. Five Gold Rings was everything I needed. Do not for a second wait on this read - Five Gold Rings just releases on 10/30 - GET IT!!!

Huge thank you to NetGalley, Kristen Bailey, Dreamscape Select and Storm Publishing for the ALC and eARC in exchange for my honest review. This one was truly a pleasure to read.
I loved this book!! It was just a happy Christmas story. Nothing profound, just a heartwarming story that was perfect to start of my holiday reading!
Thanks to NetGalley for an advanced copy of the audiobook.
Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscape Select for this super cute Christmasy audiobook!
Five Gold Rings was a delightful story, perfect to get ready for the Christmas period.
This book was fast paced and very funny.
The voice actress does a super nice job, but I would have loved a male actor to voice Joe. I think Joe was the strong point of this book. He was a gentleman, with golden retriever energy and a super hot and sweet persona.
Eve was a good FMC, but in this book I think Joe outshined her. He was perfect. The boy every girl deserves.
The scene when he reads the note left from Chris (I cannot say more or I would spoil something, but if you know you know), for me, enters the Olympus of the best love gestures ever written books.
Christmas takes a sour turn for Eve when she discovers her boyfriend in the shower with another woman. Seeking solace and healing, she embarks on a unique journey: spreading joy by delivering five rings to couples before Christmas, alongside her attractive coworker. "Five Golden Rings" is a heartwarming novel that invites readers to cozy up on the couch with a steaming cup of cocoa and a snug blanket. This delightful romcom is sure to get you into the festive spirit!
Going to have to DNF this one at 40%
This is a it's not you it's me situation. The story was cute and had lots of potential, the characters were endearing (except that Joe was giving me "nice guy" vibes), and the setting was giving me cozy Christmas vibes.
Maybe I just need to accept that Christmas books aren't for me even though it's my favourite holiday... maybe I should have taken the hint from all the cheesy Hallmark movies I just couldn't vibe with.
Anyway, if you like Hallmark movies and enjoy cutsey Christmas romcoms, I definitely suggest giving this book a go!
