This book gives all the festive feels and cheer you will need this season.
Heartfelt and sweet, I really enjoyed where the delivery of the rings took these characters and the situations then end up in. Some of the side characters are completely adorable and it also gives all the romantic feels.
If I would criticise anything I’d have preferred the female character to have refrained from drowning her sorrow in alcohol quite so often, I know it’s something that does happen but I felt it was a little over done and would have preferred her to work through her issues in other ways.
Still it’s probably the first book Iv laughed out loud at. It’s surprising and hilarious, the kids in the supermarket had me howling.
The narration here is ok, common London accents are a little over done but generally quite realistic. I’d have liked a little more definition to the male character voice as it felt a little similar to the female POV for my liking but the pacing was good and the delivery was well done.
A great success for the festive season!
This was fun and festive and heartwarming, and I enjoyed it so much more than I expected to! Great read for the holiday season, and I liked the narration as well.
A fun holiday romance that sees two strangers/semi-co-workers working together to deliver five rings to customers in time for Christmas. Perfect for fans of authors like Beth O'Leary and Catherine Walsh, this was a feel-good, mad cap adventure/road trip type Hallmark movie style romance. Good on audio too. Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an early digital and audio copy in exchange for my honest review.
I needed this book! I have read so many "meh" holiday, romance books - especially this fall and they are all just so overdone and a little cheesy. This was really good and I loved it! Perfect for the holidays.
I loved this book, the perfect Christmas romance. After suddenly finding herself single at Christmas, Eve and her coworker Joe (who has a crush on her) are sent on jewlrey store work assignments to keep her mind off the breakup leading up to Christmas. They meet a variety of people that help the other see the best in each other while trying to deliver 5 gold rings. Very sweet with low/no 🌶️ but great inappropriate situations and dialogue.
This has been posted to Goodreads.
This was such a fun and cute rom com! Can't wait for Kristen Bailey's next book. Fun little adventures and lots of joy! Great narration.
It’s Christmas Eve eve, and the holidays are not off to a good start for, er, Eve.
After the surprise and shock of catching her boyfriend cheating, Eve – totally devastated – reacts by throwing the gifts she’s selflessly bought and wrapped for HIS family out of the window. But while doing so she discovers her own present from Chris under the Christmas tree: an engagement ring, bought at the jeweler's where she works. What the jingle bells is going on? And what was he thinking?
Confused and with her Christmas plans in tatters, Eve rocks up at the jeweler's for some tea and sympathy with her lovely employers, Mr and Mrs Caspar, who quietly put in a distress call to her colleague, Joe. Eve doesn’t know that Joe is secretly in love with her, but her bosses do, and they know he’s just the person Eve needs to comfort her in a crisis.
Joe gets the call while moonlighting as a buff butler at a Christmas-themed hen do and races across town to help console Eve. But as he learns about her heartbreak, the Caspars realise a crucial delivery has gone astray: five gold rings destined for Christmas proposals and weddings have been sent to the wrong address.
Can Eve and Joe retrieve the rings and get them to their rightful owners in time?
With three proposals and two weddings to get to, it’s up to Eve and Joe to save Christmas.
This book was a perfect, light hearted romance for Christmas. For as explicit as the book began, I am a bit disappointed we never get to experience that with the main characters. Aside from a kiss or two, there is not much romance. I also wish a male narrator narrated Joe's part of the story, but aside from that the narrator was really good.
Eve's world shattered on Christmas Eve when she uncovered her boyfriend's infidelity. Adding to her misery, she discovered that he had intended to propose using a ring from the very jewelry store where she works.
Determined to help Eve mend her wounded heart, her compassionate bosses devised a plan. They entrusted Eve and her colleague, Joe, with a task: delivering five precious rings to their rightful owners. In their hearts, they hoped this endeavor would not only restore Eve's faith in love but also create a precious bond between her and Joe.
As they embarked on their mission, witnessing the holiday magic and the countless expressions of love, both Eve and Joe find themselves contemplating their own connection. Could the shared experience perhaps allow them to realize that they were, in fact, destined for each other?
✨Thoughts✨
Thank you, NetGalley and Dreamscape Select, for providing me with a copy of "Five Gold Rings" by Kristen Bailey, narrated by Harrie Dobby.
I must admit, I often find myself on the fence about Christmas-themed books, as some really captivate me while others fall short. This particular audiobook managed to capture my attention with its humor.
However, I longed for more romance and deeper insights into Eve and Joe's relationship. The budding romance between them felt rushed, leaving the romantic side of me slightly underwhelmed.
Nevertheless, the narrator did a terrific job. This is undeniably a fun and engaging story. I would recommend it to those who love cozy holiday romances.
4.25⭐️
It’s Christmas Eve, and Eve comes home early to find her boyfriend in the shower with another woman (and he’s not even remotely apologetic!) Just like that, Eve’s world is turned upside down. Thankfully, her kindly employers at the jewelers where she works are looking out for her. They send her on a mission with her coworker Joe to collect some misdelivered rings and re-route them to their rightful owners. Five golden rings, to be specific. And thus many quirky and heartwarming holiday hijinks ensue.
This story is often cute, sometimes funny, offbeat, and entirely sweet and festive. I enjoyed it and rooted for Eve and Joe all along their merry way.
Harrie Dobby did an excellent job narrating the audiobook.
Thank you Kristen Bailey, Storm Publishing, Dreamscape Select, and NetGalley and for providing this ARC for review consideration. All opinions expressed are my own.
Eve’s Christmas plans all get thrown out the window when she walks in on her boyfriend with another women. Her and a coworker, who happens to be in love with Eve, are now tasked with delivering five rings to customers before Christmas Day. They go on an adventure together to witness love and save weddings/engagements. This book was super cute.
Joe and Eve have great chemistry and I loved reading about their holiday adventures. If you are looking for a Christmas read, grab this one. Also great on audio if listening is more your jam.
Overall Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

This book was provided to me free of charge by the publishers via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC. I listened to the audio version and loved it!!! It’s almost holiday time and this is the perfect alternative to watching a hallmark movie. I It was the perfect blend of sappy romance, holiday cheer, and fun.
Initially I was loving this and really wished it would be turned into a movie. The Christmas vibes were on point and while I didn’t LOL I found both of the characters witty and amusing.
By 68% I had lost interest. The book was dragging and each “event” was taking too long. I also didn’t buy Joe and Eve—there didn’t seem to be ANY chemistry or compatibility.
By 83% I gave up and skipped to read the happy ending. The narrators voice for the male also didn’t land and often confused me because I forgot “he” was the one speaking or thinking. To that extent the narrators delivery also made it hard to know if this was a thought or a spoken word said by a character.
Thanks netgalley for my ARC/ALC
A fun holiday romcom for *after* spooky season, tying in the classic Christmas song. Over the span of a couple days leading up to Christmas, the story starts with (appropriately named) Eve catching her (also appropriately named) boyfriend Chris cheating, only to find he bought a ring to likely propose. This brings her back to the jewelers where she also works, and a new adventure with her colleague Joe: to find five misplaced rings and get them to their appropriate engagements and weddings in time.
This is a cute story heading to get into the spirit of the season with a few laugh out loud moments along the way. Thank you to Storm Publishing for the ARC. This comes out 10/30!
This book was absolutely delightful and the perfect read to get into the Christmas spirit. Although I had never read a Kristen Bailey book before, I am now eager to explore more of her works.
The connection between Joe and Eve is sweet, although I would have liked to see a bit more passion between them. This festive romance is filled with humor and features a charming cast of characters, including our lovable protagonists and their entertaining families. Joe and Eve embark on a series of ring deliveries, each one filled with laughter and heartwarming stories.
The story is beautifully crafted, offering more than just a holiday romance. It explores the various forms of love in all its glory, regardless of the circumstances. Both the main and secondary characters are wonderfully unique, adding depth to the story and enhancing my reading experience. This audiobook is perfect for the Christmas season. Whether you're wrapping presents, decorating the tree, or preparing your holiday feast, you can listen to Eve and Joe as they deliver five rings to their customers. You'll find yourself chuckling and feeling your heart warm as you join them on their festive adventures, filled with romance, mischief, revenge, and drunken escapades, all while they forge a new future. The surprise in the epilogue was a delightful addition and exactly what I was hoping for!
If you enjoy festive reads, friends-to-lovers stories, and books that involve mischief and road trips, then congratulations! Five Gold Rings has everything you're looking for. Enjoy!
I would like to express my gratitude to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for providing me with an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Kristen Bailey's "Five Gold Rings" is a delightful holiday rom-com. The connection between Joe and Eve is endearing, though it could use a bit more sizzle. This festive romance is brimming with humor, boasting a charming ensemble of characters, including our two protagonists and their amusing families. Joe and Eve set off on a series of ring deliveries, each one sprinkled with laughter and touching narratives. It made for a pleasant Christmas audiobook with excellent narration.
What a cute story! Eve comes home early on Christmas Eve eve to find her live in boyfriend, Chris, in the shower with another woman. As she processes, she finds a ring under the Christmas tree from the Jewelers where Eve works. Eve heads into her office in hopes of some compassion from her employers and co-workers to find that a delivery of rings has been sent to the wrong address, which will ruin many Christmas proposals and weddings. Joe and Eve head out on a mission to redistribute the rings to avoid further complications. Joe is head over heels for Eve and has been for a long time. Eve finally is now not oblivious to Joe. The characters were sweet, except for Chris who was a complete arse. The storyline was very easy to follow. There were some chuckles and some laugh out loud moments as Eve and Joe went on their journey. I listened to the audiobook and the narrator was wonderful. If you are looking for an easy read holiday rom-com, then this one is for you.
Many thanks to Net Galley for an audio ARC of Five Gold Rings.
This is a gem of a book. Very character driven, makes you fall in love with the characters. 5 stars!
4.5 stars
This is a fun, entertaining, roller coaster of a good ride. Eve and Joe are interesting, relatable, intriguing, entertaining characters. I enjoyed their romance and the journey that they go on to find love. This book took me through the gamut of emotions – laughing out loud to tears and everything in between. The story is beautifully crafted so that you get so much more than a holiday romance, you get to see the many varieties of love in all its glory no matter the circumstances. Both the main characters and the secondary ones were so unique and added so much dimension to the story and my reading experience.
I enjoyed the audio version of this story and the narrator.
Trigger warner: discussion of the death of a parent; a loved one’s battle with cancer.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Thank you to the author and dreamscape Media. Not sure what is going on with the netgalley app but thw audiobook isn't continusly playing made it under 1% before it crashed for the first time - just constantly pausing and not playing.
Oh how happy I was to get this ARC! After reading Sx Ed, I had no doubt Kristen will not let me down and give me another funny and emotional story to read and reread whenever I need a pick-me-up for my soul.
Five Gold Rings is a story that spans several days around Christmas in London. Eve finds herself betrayed and devastated right before Christmas, and her matchmaking employers send her and her coworker Joe on a quest to distract Eve from her sad thoughts, while they deliver five rings to their customers for Christmas proposals.
From there, all kinds of shenanigans ensue. Joe, who spent the whole time since he met Eve pining for her, desperately tries to fight his own feelings while taking care of Eve throughout their journey. And Eve desperately tries to forget her cheating ex and fill her soul with new, happy memories by bringing love to people during Christmas. Somewhere along the way, she starts seeing something more in her charming colleague -- a friend, a confidant, a crush maybe?
It's so rewarding to see Eve develop feelings for Joe, when his own are getting stronger and stronger. Their relationship is so pure and selfless -- your heart will melt for them! And it's steamy without actually being open-door. I did not miss the spice at all, and trust me, you won't either.
Towards the end of the story you may expect a lot of tears (unless you have no soul), but the epilogue will reward you by making you grin like an idiot, especially if you are a fan of Kristen's books like me!
After I'd already finished the ARC, I also got the ALC. Harrie Dobby's narration is flawless, as usual. This was my first official reread, and I am sure it won'r be the last. I hope it gets made into a movie so I can watch it as well as read it.
Kristen, we need more of your stories, please never stop writing!
