I did like the relationship between Gillian and Noah especially their banter. It started off slow and it just didnt have that wow factor for me.

Gillian is content with her single life, preferring the solace of her garden over the frustrations of dating apps. However, when Noah moves in next door, their clashing personalities threaten to disrupt her peaceful sanctuary. As they navigate their differences, Gillian must learn to cultivate her happy place on her own terms, all while preparing for a gardening contest. A charming and heartwarming story of love, friendship, and the unexpected ways in which we find connection and happiness.

Pharmacist Gillian has been trying to win the best garden contest for years but the main judge doesn’t like her.
But this year is going to be her time to triumph until her new neighbour with the hayfever, Noah, pulls out a hedge along their boundary line, ruining her carefully cultivated design.
This war of the roses rom-com, which was told from both perspectives, delves into neighbourly rivalry and the perils of online dating. The characters continued to grow on me as the story progressed but there were a few issues too quickly raked over.

A fun romcom about starting over with an enemies to lovers flavour. Gillian is trying online dating apps but would rather be in her garden as she is finding her dates awkward and at times rude. Her focus becomes the gardening contest until trouble enters with new neighbour Noah. Sparks fly and not the usual kind.

Gillian I found to be somewhat problematic at times, Noah authentic and the garden gnome funny. It’s fun, it’s entertaining and nice to have an older category of characters who come with their own baggage and issues. The topics of body shaming and the need to seek support topical. All up a quick and entertaining read.

This is a warm novel with few surprises but a nice tone. It delivers a good, if slightly predictable, entertaining read.

Gillian Pritchard is the pharmacist for the small town of Willow Cove. It’s one of the more stable jobs in a town heavily dependent on summer tourism. She’s also single, which bothers her friends and neighbours a lot more than it does her. Under pressure from them, she’s cautiously started trying online dating, with depressing results.

She’s startled to come home one day to find her next door neighbour has sold her home, contents and all, and absconded with a new love. The new owner, Noah West, makes an extremely poor impression on Gillian right away.

Noah is frankly a bit lost. After a bad breakup, he sold his business, and on impulse bought a house and marina halfway across the country in Willow Cove. He’s living in an old lady house, has a business he doesn’t really understand, and his allergies have flared up big time. Plus, if Gillian’s reaction to him is any measure, his charm has deserted him.

It’s no surprise that even as these two argue and spar, they find themselves drawn together. But Noah is hiding something which could destroy their relationship forever…

This is the second novel Denker has set in Willow Cove, so many of the secondary characters will be familiar to some readers. I didn’t feel that we got to know these characters any better, but they added some spark and humour to the novel. They were fun, without being obtrusive.

Meanwhile, both Gillian and Noah are strong and realistic characters. I loved Gillian’s strength. She’s very confident in herself and her abilities, and isn’t going to be put down by anyone. She shows a remarkable resilience where some might be crushed. She’s not perfect, but I really enjoyed that she didn’t spend a lot of time worrying about insecurities and her “flaws”.

Noah is a guy who’s used to using his good looks and charm to skate by. It’s not common to read a romantic hero who so consciously uses his looks, but I found it realistic, and rather enjoyed his reaction when it didn’t work.

There are no great surprises – this is a romance that sticks closely to the tropes of the genre. I don’t think that’s a problem: many romance readers actively want the predictable rhythm and happy ending. This one elevates itself with particularly strong characters and a gentle sense of humor.

I enjoyed this pleasant, undemanding romance. It was a straightforward entertainment, perfect in tone and readability. Highly recommended for romance readers.

I WILL PUBLISH THIS CLOSER TO RELEASE DATE AND WILL ADD LINKS THEN.

Gillian Pritchard is a pharmacist in the town of Willow Cove. She lives alone and is a keen gardener hoping to win the town’s garden competition. Her new neighbour, Noah West moves in and upsets Gillian when he removes some plants along their boundary.
Gillian’s friends try to set Gillian and Noah up as a couple but Gillian is having none of it and persists on going out on blind dates with unsuitable men.
This was a fun romance about gardening, friendships and life in a small town.
Thank to the publisher Simon & Schuster and Net-Galley for a chance to review this fun romance.

This was a great story!

Noah and Gillian were well developed, likeable characters who really felt like real people. I loved the mental health rep from Noah and the very real struggles he goes through.

IT'S PROBABLY YOU by Jayne Denker was a fun, entertaining and enjoyable story filled with electric chemistry, plenty of funny moments and all the found-family feels.

Thanks to NetGalley and Simon & Schuster Australia for the ARC! Opinions are my own

A rom-com about starting over. Enemies to lovers Gillian and Noah were both really well developed and I liked that they each had their own baggage. Gillian took a while to grown on me, however, the chemistry between the two was electric. I was in stitches at Noah crashing Gillian’s dates and their gnome and gardening contest antics. There was a bit of depth as the author explored topics such as fat shaming and seeking support from professionals. A fun read.

Gillian Pritchard has been single for five years and, her friends think she should start dating and she’s tries online. After chatting to the men and texting, she goes on dinner and coffee dates. What a disaster, she discovers the men seem fine on their profile, it's a different story when she meets them, they have no personality, lack basic manners and conversation skills and some don’t like women with a few curves. Gillian is a pharmacist in Willow Cove, she knows about food, nutrition, her doctor has pronounced her perfectly healthy, she’s a normal sized women and comfortable in her own skin. Gillian loves gardening, she decides to devote her time to winning the local contest and she’s tired of always coming third.

Noah West moves to Willow Cove after his relationship ends, he has fond memories of spending the summers here with his Uncle Manny as a teenager and he buys a house next door to Gillian. she's mad when her new neighbour stars changing things on their shared boundary, without asking, the stubborn man has no idea what he’s doing in his garden and when she needs to stay focused. It’s hard with Noah driving her crazy, he witnesses a couple of her humiliating dates, she can't stop thinking about him and could her Mr Right be living next door.

I received a digital copy of It’s Probably You by Jayne Denker from Simon & Schuster Australia and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. A funny and entertaining story about the perils of online dating, both main characters struggled after their long term relationships ended and I laughed out loud at the odd actions of her Gillian’s potential suitors. .

The narrative looks at relevant topics such as body-shaming, taking advice from someone who knows what they’re talking about, think before you do something and don't make rash decisions, creating a beautiful garden is hard work and rewarding, and a bit like a successful romantic relationship. I'm keen to peruse other books by Ms. Denker, three and a half stars from me, a quick and humorous read.
