I really, really liked this book! Although this is the second installment in The Wicked Belles series, I personally feel as though this is a book that can be read as an interconnected standalone. I was fortunate enough to also receive an ARC of the first book in this series earlier this year and despite how long ago I read the first book I felt as though the author did an incredible job reintroducing the reader to the world.

This book follows Jade, the eldest of the Belle sisters, and a witch in a coven run by her grandmother. Jade has a lot of self-imposed responsibility weighing on her shoulders in regard to her role in her family. Following the disasters of Samhain festival, Jade takes a role working alongside Alexei, the vampire prince. When one of the most dangerous talismans Jade is working on for Alexei is stolen the two start down a path to trying to find it before it’s too late.

I absolutely loved the character development and insights we got between their two points of view throughout this book. Having now read two of Autumn Blake’s books I can confidently say she knows how to write characters with so much depth you fall in love with them yourself.

The romance, tension, yearning and the spice levels were perfect. I love how easy this book is to read but doesn’t feel lacking at all. The only thing I would have wanted was to spend some more time fleshing out the ending of the book - I love when a books makes me wish I got to spend more time reading it.

I will definitely be continuing to read future books in this series and will be keeping an eye out for any other books from this author! Another bonus - it’s on Kindle Unlimited!

Only until I finished this book did I realized this is the second book of a series. However, it could be read as a standalone!

This book is for you if you enjoyed the vampire diaries and the originals. The drama and the love and the chaos and sequence of events

This is the story of a guarded witch and an exiled vampire!

I will say the book started slow but then when Jade went to her great aunt’s house, I was immediately hooked and couldn’t stop reading!!!

The chemistry between Alexei and Jade was literally the best build up. Every time something happened and they were interrupted, the suspense grew more and more

The dual POV allows more insight about their true feelings, and how their actions support those feelings. Especially Alexi’s POV!

Jade and Mira were an underrated duo. I wish we saw more of these two though

Blood Enchanted is a modern tale with fantastical themes involving witches, vampires and even a demon or two. While all of these elements would normally have me shushing my husband to be quiet so I can plow through it in one sitting, I found this tale to be a bit more of a slog. I couldn't get into the plot and the characters and their motives just seemed weak.
HOWEVER, and I wrote it big because it's a big however, I feel like this is simply a matter of taste, and another reader might really really love this story. Fans of Tessa Bailey would probably gobble this up. But for me, it just didn't work. I couldn't like the characters, their motives seemed spurious at best and I just have a hard time with a book that includes both fantastical magic talismans and.....cell phones. Just takes me out of it.
While this book is designed to be read as a standalone, I think it would have been super helpful to read the first book in the Wicked Belles series first. It would have made some of the historical references easier to understand.
While fundamentally this book is fine, it just didn't do it for me. But then again, I don't see what the fuss about Fourth Wing is all about so maybe my taste is just odd. For another read, this book has tons of enjoyable elements (fierce women characters, lots of spicy, 'touch her and die' vibes), but it just wasn't for me.

I could not stop reading this. I literally read this book in a day and half because like I have always said "vampires are my jam!" I have read the first book by Autumn Blake and loved it. I was so thrilled to get approved to read the second book. Whooo whee! Thank you!!

Okay so much happens in this book. This book story is about Jade's adventure. She's an Earth witch where she is bound to the earth. I loved learning about that. For Jade magic happens in so many ways. She ends up down a path of adventure, truth, love, lust and so much more. I loved how Jade learns so much about herself and what she stands for. Her connection with Alexi is steamy.

Alexi's smooth lines was perfection and that's not all. I had to! Sorry but Autumn writes really well with her characters making them steamy. And that he is a vampire. Anyways, I could see that he was on a journey also. He wanted to atone for his past. I'm not giving it all his history away because you need to read the book. While on his journey, Jade comes into the picture and presto. He realizes she's is his mate. Do they get their happy ever after?

I loved how those two played off of each other. Their banter, their kisses, their plans, their steamy moments...all of it! I loved their adventure together and separate.

I enjoyed the moments that Alexi and Henry had together of just chatting.

I loved when Jade was learning more about her magic and talismans. The seance part in the book was fun! I loved how she got to hag out and yet learned many things.

The story is written from Alexi and Jade's point of view.

As I mentioned before there is spicy moments.

Oh I did enjoy Ember and Killian's brief appearances in this book.

I'm definitely going to read the next book. I am so enjoying these adventures of the sisters about their magic and their mates. Such a magical whirlwind adventures!

It is the second book on the series. I loved the first one, but I love this more. I thoroughly enjoy reading this. I love everything, the characters, the banter, the story.

Thank you Netgalley for the ARC, all opinions are my own. I was so excited when I got this ARC because I loved the first one and I just knew the spicy scenes would deliver based on the Alexei previews in the first book. The things I most enjoyed:
- the banter
- the character development
- the magic system and the clear explanation of it

The things I took a star for:
- the pacing was a little off, I feel like the big plot points that needed time to develop were dealt with quickly and the small plot points were dragged out
- I wish there was a bigger revelation scene when Jade found out she was Alexei’s mate (this might be the SJM stan girlie in me talking but I feel like the moment could have been bigger)

Overall, this was a very solid sequel and I thoroughly enjoyed it!!! I’m curious to see what comes next because there wasn’t really a set up like there was at the end of the first one!!

A really great read l enjoyed. The character, the words, the events that took place made this book perfect. I really do not want to spoil this read for anyone so l'll keep the details to myself but l highly recommend it.

I love supernatural romances and this didn’t disappoint! The enemies to lovers was fun and Jade trying to figurine out her magic was very interesting. The only reason I give this 4 instead of 5 (really a 4.5, but that’s not allowed) is that it felt like there were too many plots for me. There was the plot of Jade/Alexi, then her magic, then her sisters, then her grandmother, then her being sent to Salem and all the interpersonal relationships/problems there. On Alexi’s side there is his knowledge of Jade, all the lies he’s holding on to, his father, his mother/sister, and all the vampires who oppose his father. It was a really well done plot it just was quite a bit to keep up with and I had to take more time than normal to read it.

The characters are fun and the spice is spicy! It’s a good time.

This book was great! The character development is immaculate. I was so deeply invested and in love with these characters. The world was well built and immersive. The story was well written and paced. A perfect book. I can't wait for the next one.

Dual-POV:
Who doesn't love a romance novel that shows us both point of views? This novel is particularly interesting, because not only do you see the story from the perspective of two different characters, who are actually different magical creatures. Switch between the narrative voice of a misunderstood vampire prince and a budding spirit witch. Jade is Alexei's mystical guide, helping with esoteric tasks of his vampire council. My favorite metaphor used in this book was '"tightly wound as a marionette".

High Stakes:
This enemies to lovers plot actually delivers. Similar novels often have weak spots; the 'enemies' aspect of the trope is usually unbelievable. But here, in 'Blood Enchanted', Blake creates a believable romantasy relationship that is really enemies to lovers. The stakes are high, right from the beginning, and continue to build throughout the novel. Each character has their secrets, and it keeps the reader flipping pages.

Characters:
Alexei struggles with the unfit ruler archetype, where he is destined to obey his father, and inherit an unjust kingdom. It is an interesting arc to follow. Jade is a witch with a strong connection to her coven and her sisters. She is certainly a character who feels like she has the weight of the world on her shoulders.

Greek Mythology References:
'Blood Enchanted' is perfect for fans of Greek mythology. There is an unnamed religion which the witches follow. It adds an element of magical realism to the story, to reference the myths and show that the witches hold Grecian deities dear. Those who are interested in Greek mythology will enjoy references to characters such as Artemis and Hera.

'Blood Enchanted' by Autumn Blake is the second novel in the 'Wicked Belles' series.

Well I absolutely loved Bewitched Shadows (Book 1), but this was certainly next level. I was completely captivated from the start and it ended consuming my life until I finished this book.

This is Jade and Alexei’s story, Alexei is a vampire and Jade a witch. You can read this as a standalone but my recommendation would be to read Bewitched Shadows firstly so that you can truly appreciate the background that led them to where they are in this novel.

Alexei is just so intoxicating and enticing and the way that he pursues Jade, and is prepared to selflessly walk away (should that be Jades decision). I really enjoyed Jade’s journey for her own growth in the spiritual sense and her own magical journey.

There were so many moments, during this twisting and turning read that were just so important to the reader. In a very important scene Alexei wears an emerald green shirt (IYKYK).

I would encourage all readers that love witch, vampire, paranormal novels to add this series to your TBR list if it’s not already there.

Well full disclosure here that unfortunately I hadn't realised this is the second book in the series so that perhaps marred my enjoyment. Essentially Jade is an Earth Witch who has recently gained the power of a Spirit Witch although it's quite an erratic power as this story starts. Alexei is the Vampire Prince in charge of New Orleans and has persuaded Jade to work for him ostensibly as a go between I guess but in reality he has her unlocking deadly black magic curses from items he stole from his thoroughly nasty and cruel father. When one of the objects is stolen Alexei knows it's only a matter of time before his father discovers what he has done. So not only does Alexei need to get it back pronto but he hasn't told Jade that he has realised she is his Mate which not only makes her his biggest weakness but also puts her in grave danger !
If I'm truthful the first half of this book was only a three for me and that's for a variety of reasons. First obviously I didn't know the background story of Alexei and Jade meeting and just why they were working together. Secondly I just didn't particularly take to Jade or even Alexei but certainly I had more trouble liking Jade. Finally the pace was so slow and it seemed to drag at times.
So those are the bad bits but here is the good ! Once a certain kidnapping takes place everything just got much more intense and suddenly this world of Vampires and Witches not to mention other paranormal creatures became vivid. I really enjoyed it as Jade became more the type of heroine I can emphasize with. As this ends an accord takes place but not everyone is left happy with the changes so there's room for the issues to be revisited. However the first book apparently featured a Witch falling for a Demon and with two more sisters perhaps the Shifters will feature soon ? However the author goes I imagine it will be another super steamy read which will delight and entertain fans of this series.

I hope once the author finishes the stories of the other sisters she circles back and gives us a second book with more of Jade's story. Jade and Alexei make for perfect main characters of this paranormal romance. I cannot wait for the next book in this series.

“Blood Enchanted” by Autumn Blake is super spicy. I could not stop my heart beating so fast during Jade’s and Alexei’s escapades. The book is about learning to forgive yourself which was sweet but in a adult way. I really liked the book and want to read more of the series. 4 out of 5 stars.

While I appreciate the opportunity to read this, unfortunately I will not be finishing this book. I just couldn't get into the story.

I have been waiting for this book since I read Bewitched Shadows. I actually enjoyed Jade and Alexei's story way more than I did of Killiam and Ember's. The fire between the two was fantastic. I was hesitant at one point that it moved someone fast, but as we saw in Twilight, these things don't take too long when a supernatural being is involved. There was a HEA but it took some heartache to get there. I will definitely be reading the next book in this series considering as soon as I finished Bewitched Shadows, I was looking for the release date of this one.
