Thank you Net Galley and Dreamscape media for this audiobook in exchange of an honest review.
Red Flags was not for me.
I did like the circus setting and vibe. The voice actress was very good, but I didn’t have doubts since Dreamscape it’s always on top of this.
NOTE: Before reading this book I suggest to check the trigger warnings.
Sienna had a lot of trauma and baggage. She is victim of physical and sexual violence and she puts up a brave and strong facade when in reality she is just a 20yo scared for her like.
Sienna finds and escape in Logan, the broody and dangerous owner, and in the circus itself, being in need to run away from all the violence her life is surrounded by.
What bothered me is that with Sienna’s background this book could have so much potential. The circus setting it’s the perfect place for an escape and finding one-self story. Even in dark romances there is always an underlay of values that are maintained, but in this book there is none. I wouldn’t even call it a dark romance, but like it’s title I would simply call it a red flag.
From now on there are minor spoilers.
In the beginning he looks like this morally grey saving angel, but after listening, I´m more leaning on just general asshole.
What I really didn’t like was the dynamic in between the protagonists. So Logan falls in love after they exchange exactly two words and he is ready to kill for her and all, but as soon as she says something against one of his employees (being in the right because said employees are bullying her since second one) he doesn’t believe her and treats her like a liar. Well my man, I think you have a personality problem.
Also the books ends in a cliffhanger, meaning there will be a book two. Now my question is, do we really need a book two? I don’t think so 😂

Sienna had an upbringing scarred by the presence of her abusive father. To shield herself from his torment, she made every effort to keep her distance whenever possible. However, fate took a surprising turn when the enchanting Cirque des Miroirs graced her small town. Within the mesmerizing spectacle, Sienna caught the attention of none other than the circus's enigmatic owner, Logan. After spending some time together, he offered her an escape from her dreadful hometown - an opportunity to travel across the country alongside his extraordinary circus. Little did Sienna know her troubles were far from over.
The author did a great job of building up the romantic tension. Also, the incorporation of darker themes added depth to the reading experience. However, I would love to see a bit more character development with the secondary characters. Overall, I found this book to be a quick and entertaining read. I'm looking forward to the next one, especially with that cliffhanger.
*** Thank you to NetGalley, Skye Warren for the opportunity to read this book.

This book was classic Skye Warren dark romance and I am here for it!
I love the setting in this crazy dark circus full of secrets, lies, dodgy characters and danger.
Sienna and Logan are together in this mysterious circus falling in love and danger and I can't wait to see what happens next!

ARC audiobook provided in exchange for an honest review.
I really enjoyed Leanne Woodward’s narration on this book! She completely encompasses all the characters and makes the story easy and entertaining to listen to! I liked the premise of the book and how it’s a steamy romance that takes place amongst the backdrop of a traveling circus. There could be some triggers for people regarding violence and sexual abuse, but it didn’t negatively affect the story for me. If you like steamy romance, give this book a try!

THE ANGST!!! THE TENSION!!! IM LIVING.
4.75 ☆ !!!
i’m so invested.
i need book 2… like now.
Skye Warren has made a fan out if me. I loved this so much and will be first in line for the next book.

Trigger Warnings for Sexual Assault.
I have always enjoyed Skye Warren as an author! This was the first time I had listened to one of Warren's books on audio.
It took me a bit to get into the book, but after about halfway I was hooked!
Sienna lives in a small town in Texas with her abusive father and out-of-place South Asian mother. She longs to leave but does not want to leave her mother alone. That is until the circus comes to town and the owner, tall and mysterious Logan Whitmere, becomes enthralled, almost obsessed with her.
I also want to add the scene describing the show in the big top was one of the best visual experiences in writing I've ever read (/heard). I could literally see what was happening, and I am not a usual visual person. I was astounded with that scene.
I anxiously wait for the next book!

Thank you to Skye Warren and NetGalley for my ARC copy!
I enjoyed this book at the beginning. There was a lot going on, the mystery of the circus and what was going on with Sienna and her past.
I would have liked more development though at the beginning. More between the characters and more about the circus and the town. Everyone at the circus seems to hate Sienna for one reason or another. But there wasn’t really a reason for that hate from any of them.
Information was repeated throughout the book and I found it boring.
I didn’t really feel the connection with Logan and Sienna. Logan was a boring character and didn’t give the mystery that I was expecting him to.
I didn’t like the cliffhanger, it didn’t feel right or fit the story I had been reading.
This one just wasn’t for me unfortunately.

Welp.... that was disappointing. The writing is so choppy. Emotionless and just not sexy. I found my self talking out loud to the FMC. She is just so naive and unaware of anything going on around her. She is so frustrating. Was this written by AI? Cause it felt like an AI generated dark romance with a carnival.

I received an ALC & eARC in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
ALC:
Everting from my original review still rings true. It was so great on audio! the narrators did a wonderful job with bringing them to life.
ARC:
I’ve read a few books by this author, and I absolutely love her writing. Her books, for me, are so easy to get into. It took me quite a few days to finish reading this book, not because I didn’t enjoy it, but so that I could savor it. This book felt really different from any of the other books that I’ve read by this author, which is why I enjoyed it so very much. I haven’t read many romance books in a circus setting, but like the ones I have read, this story had such an interesting vibe to it. It was spooky, dangerous, mysterious, heartbreaking, and fun. Sienna and Logan are both great main characters and I’m really excited to see where things go with them and also to learn even more about them. I can’t wait for the next book to come out because that cliffhanger was so freaking good. At the beginning I definitely thought I knew how the book was going to end, but boy was I wrong. I did not see that coming, at all!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This book is pure sorcery! It pulled me in and kept me enthralled in the dark and twisted story for hours! The narration on the audiobook was almost hypnotizing as it kept me listening into the wee hours of the night to find out what happens to our damaged heroine, but be forewarned, you will not find out fully in this book alone as it ends on a cliffhanger. Not just any cliffhanger either, it leaves you falling off the cliff waiting to see what happens so make sure that you have book 2 cued up and ready to go or you'll be like me, yelling nooooo into the dark night! The author has woven a dark and twisted romance that will have you panting for more and furious on behalf of the battered heroine. Our main character has endured years of abuse at the hands of the adults who were supposed to love her, the townspeople who should have looked out for her and her peers who bullied her. She finally escapes, but has she escaped one hell only to land into another? You'll have to read to find out and I promise it will be worth every minute you spend devouring the words on the page or better yet, listening to the audiobook as the narration really brought the story fully to life! I'm off to see if I can get my hands on the next book, you should seriously consider joining me in reading this story if you love a good, dark, twisted romance with a bit of mystery and intrigue.

Im obsessed! The drama, the romance... so well written. And the audiobook voice is perfection. Can't wait to read the next installment!

3.5 stars
I really enjoyed the story and will read the next book in the series to see what happens! I loved how protective Logan was of Sienna and I loved how she was slowly starting to grow as a person after her history in the small town she is from.
There were a couple things I had a hard time with and I don't know if it was because I was listening to the audiobook or if it was part of the story itself... Sienna doesn't look very highly of herself and the put downs she uses/ the "hard" exterior she portrays was super repetitive throughout the book. It may have been highlighted more with the narration and the tones the narrator used.

There's just something mysterious about a traveling carnival/circus. Always seems there are secrets and pasts that are definitely story worthy!
Red Flags is a suspense filled tale that begins when the carnival comes to a town it has no business stopping in. Sienna is stuck in the tiny town she grew up in but once she meets Logan those thoughts change. Even though she has been continually knocked down Sienna does not let anything keep her there. Logan is so interesting and you know he is holding back all kinds of secrets and I can't wait to read more!
This book does end on a cliffhanger but I loved the story and am looking forward to what happens next. Thank you to the author, dreamscape and netgalley for the audio book. Narration made for a great listen!

The title of this novel is mentioned WAY too much throughout the book. We have a girl from the wrong side of tracks who gets sucked into a romance with an older, wiser carny. Who was actually an investment banker but decided to buy the circus. Ok.
The ending is abrupt and disheartening and thank God this is a series because the main character is left in peril. And the romance seems to have ended. Because of course Logan isn't as trusting as he should be.
*Special thanks to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for this audio e-arc.*

I had really high hopes for this one.
I mean it's a kissing book that takes place at a circus, that sounds amazing!
There is a lot packed into the book and it felt like in trying to include so many elements, a lot of them didn't get time to breathe.
Most notably, the dialogue was very flat and (at times) confusing.
Like I walked into a conversation half finished and was trying to figure out what I missed.
My biggest want for this book was for Logan to be more richly developed. He seemed very flat and not nearly the badass mysterious fella I hoped for. It was all very underwhelming.
The way to book ends leads me to believe this is the start of a series and I am not opposed to checking out the next book to see where this goes. The plot is a cool concept and I would love to see how it progresses, especially looking for more circus world building.
We got very little inner circle circus bits and I want more!
Thanks to NetGalley & Dreamscape Media for my ALC.

Red Flags is the first book I've read by this author and I'm definitely impressed. I really liked the exciting but dangerous vibes the travelling circus had. All of the characters were really interesting and felt so real by the end. I think Sienna was a great main character and I loved how she handled Logan. The use of the "who did this to you" trope was excellent. The spice was super hot and I definitely need to read the next book.
Thank you to the publishers and netgalley for this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

I am going to start at the end on this one because my jaw was dropped for the last 15% of this book. This ends on a cliffhanger, setting up book 2 nicely. I flashed through many emotions in that last 15% - anger, fear, laughter, anxiety, and then more anger! I can't wait to read book 2.
I listened to this in audio and the single POV female narrator did a great job conveying the story. Occasionally in this story and format it was hard to tell what was internal monologue vs dialog, but it was only a minor distraction.
I would not say this book is romance heavy as there is an insta-love alpha male lead, but I felt their romance was secondary to all of the self discovery Sienna was going through. There was some spice but also lots of other interesting character development.
Overall, if you need a happily ever-after I would add this to your TBR and binge once more books are out. If you are ok with the cliffhanger then read this now!

* 3.5 stars *
It took me a while to get into this story. It almost felt like all the characters were being purposely vague until the very end. I did get surprisingly hooked by the end and now I really need the next book to know if Logan goes back for Sienna! Leanne Woodward is a new narrator for me but she did a great job bringing the characters to life.

*Spoilers ahead!*
I wanted to love this book, but I am a sucker for a happy ending or at least a promising cliff hanger and this book gave me neither. I know we are supposed to understand that Sienna is damaged because of the abuse she has faced but her I would have appreciated her relationship with Logan to develop more rapidly. She kept trying to tell herself that she wasn’t into Logan even though she clearly was. At least Logan didn’t try to hide his feelings, so I enjoyed that. The spice level of this book was a bit lower than I expected, but that didn’t mean it was lacking, I was just expecting more. When I got to the ending, I was disappointed. I know it’s by design to make you want to read the next book, White Lies, which despite my initial reaction of annoyance at the ending, I will most likely read because I need Logan and Sienna to end up together. I need to find out what happens. I need Logan to realize that his circus “family” has it out for Sienna.
