PSuch a lovely book!! Kids will love the beautiful pictures and all the bugs!! The story is very cute!

This was so cute! You’re following Addie Ant on her first solo adventure! She’s very comfortable in her tomato bed community but has decided to wander over to the watermelon and sunflower bed across the garden!
She meets many equally as adorable insects on her mission and eats adorably illustrated fruits and vegetables!
I LOVED it! The art and the personification of the insects really make it!

I received an electronic ARC from Chronicle Books through NetGalley.
The artwork is charming with an old fashioned design. The story is simple - Addie decides to go visit a different part of the garden and see friends. This is not an easy feat for an ant. She sets out and learns that it is okay to ask for help along the way and to get home again. I appreciate the interactions and the light tone. However, the story does not flow smoothly especially when read aloud.

A cute little book with beautiful illustrations
Addie Ant lives in the tomato bed with her aunts and she has always dreamed of traveling to the far side of the garden where the watermelons grew. One fine day, she takes a leap and starts her travel. The story tells us about her travel and what happened on the way.
My Thoughts
This is a fun little book which emphasizes that you can always rely on your friends for help. The illustrations are the one which is really top notch. Addie's eye lashes are so fab. The garden and the other supporting insects are so beautiful.
The only downside to this book is the use of really big words which I am not sure if kids aged 4- 6 would be able to grasp. I wish the author would have used simpler words or provided meanings as a subtext so it would help develop the young readers vocabulary
All in all, a good read
My rating : 4.25 rounded to 4

My lovely nanny kid and I found ourselves fully immersed in Addie Ant’s adventure! We often refer to our own outings as adventures so it fit right in to our lifestyle. All the characters prompted my little into asking questions about the various insects. The drawings were phenomenal with setting the scene!

I just finished this children's picture book Addie Ant Goes on an Adventure. I love the illustrations!! They enhance the sweet story. Addie is an adorable ant and her adventure is picture perfect. Thank you #netgalley for the advanced copy of #addieantgoesonanadventure
This will be a smash hit for children of all ages.

In Addie Ant Goes on an Adventure, Maren Morris has written her first children’s book. Addie Ant lived in the bottom of a tomato bed with her aunt Gertie and aunt Zelda. But she longed to travel across the garden and visit the area behind the shed. It is filled with watermelons and sunflowers. She meets some fun characters such as Lewis Ladybug. She was warned about the gardener’s hen, Harriet Chicken. He would often mistake critters as corn. She makes her way to the watermelons and sunflowers and is taken back from the beautiful scenery and adventure.
I would recommend this awesome book to anyone who has children aged 1-7. I loved how this book educated kids on the importance of ants and how they help plants and the ecosystem in the garden or the rainforest. This book is a fun little adventure book about nature and how ants probably have a quest daily in the environment. This book is a little different from what I thought Maren Morris would have written. I’m guessing she wrote it for son. It didn’t have a lot of music or lyric references like I thought at first it would have coming from a hit songwriter. It was still a fun adventure for children to partake on. The illustration was breathtaking and children will enjoy watching the adventure unfold.
"I received this book free from Chronicle Books for my honest review.”

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with this book in exchange for my review! All opinions are my own.
I had no clue Maren Morris wrote a book for children. She should definitely write more in the future. She is an entertaining author (probably because she also writes such great songs!). This book reminded me of the "Miss Spider" series that was popular when I was a kid, and it also reminded me slightly of Eric Carle's books for children about insects too. I loved the illustrations, they were very eye-catching. I think this book could definitely hold children's attention. I like that it will also be a way to educate children about insects and nature. This is very important to teach children about from a very young age. I would buy this book if my friends or a family member were to have a baby. It was sweet and darling. I really enjoyed it, even though I am not the target audience!

This book was super cute and had amazing illustrations that perfectly encased what the world of an ant would look like. The writing included very descriptive details of the setting and plot. The dialogue between some of the characters felt off but overall this is a great book to read with your children

I loved the adorable colors and details of this book. The descriptions were rich and fun! A bit uneven pacing on the pages. A few lines could have been shortened to keep it moving a bit more. I also would be mindful of the font, I sometimes lost the words! A little bigger, or sometimes white instead of black would be helpful. Cute story, very sweet garden details!

An adorable and beautifully illustrated book about Addie, the adventurous ant and her travels through the garden bed

Addie Ant longs to see the outside world and finally goes on that adventure. Leaving home exposes Addie Ant to the many obstacles and other animals to meet and learn from. This is an adorable picture book with detailed illustrations. This is an easy read and allows for the conversation of leaving home and exploring the world.

The perfect book to explore the smallest, tiny things in our lives and surroundings. It's a great starter for educators to let their students pay more attention to their ecosystem in a small garden or patch of dirt. There is so much happening and so much to learn from. Addie's journey is amazing, she encounters so much not only good food, but other species, flowers, aromas, flavors, and scents. The illustrations are very detailed and beautifully stylized. We could spend time looking at the details and the harmony of colors. Has a great mood and message. I love books about ants. I wish the font was a bit larger.
Thank you, publisher and Netgalley for this e-arc.

My thanks for the ARC goes to NetGalley and Chronicle Chroma. I'm voluntarily leaving a review.
Genre and Age: Picture book for young kids
Representation: Lewis Ladybug uses they/their pronouns
The artwork in this book is adorable!
I felt like this book was a little wordy and the story meandered. There are things kids will enjoy like her compass and other bug-sized props.
What was Addie's motivation for going on an adventure? I'm not sure what she wanted other than seeing more of the world. Is that a lot to ask for from a picture book? Maybe, but I still wanted more.
And Addie doesn't solve her own problem about how to get home. I wanted to see what she'd learned on her adventure and how that might have helped her with her goal to return.
So even though this wasn't my favorite picture book, if you want a bug-sized adventure, this book might be perfect for you and your family.
Happy reading!

Addie the ant wants to go exploring out of the tomato bed where she lives with her aunts. This adorably illustrated book follows her around the neighborhood and introduces some of the other insects in the neighborhood. There aren't any real morals or underlying lessons in this story. It really is just purely for entertainment. There is a small fact section about ants at the very end. I received an advance reading copy, and I am leaving this review voluntarily,

I had high hopes for this book. Being a Pre
-K teacher, one of my absolute favorite things to do is to read stories to my students. I love reading and thoroughly enjoy helping to foster their love of reading. The title of this book and the adorable pictures throughout had me excited to read it. However, I didn’t feel that there was a great flow to the story. I actually read it out loud to see how it would sound if I read it to my students, and it just didn’t work. There really wasn’t a rhythm to the story (which was especially surprising to me, seeing as an which was especially surprising to me seeing as a singer–songwriter was one of the co-authors) and there were too many words that would be unfamiliar to the students. I don’t mind books that throw in words like that here and there especially if they make sense with the context so the students can figure out what they mean. In this case, there was an overabundance of that and not always a great context to figure out the word. Unfortunately, I don’t think I would purchase this for my class..

This is an adorable children's book. The pictures are really cute and so is the story!

I read this book with my 8-year-old daughter. She liked all the details and all the adventures Addie the ant went on. Cleo the Cricket was my daughter's favorite part of the story. I liked Addie's willingness to face the unknown. I feel that this teaches young readers to overcome fears and face the unknown. The illustrations were very imaginative and magical. Overall, we loved this book.

The illustrations are adorable, with so many details. However, I don't feel like the story itself comes up to the level of the illustrations. It could use some improvement.

I loved the pictures in this book, they were beautiful and engaging. However, I found the actual text to be too wordy and overly descriptive. I had a hard time reading this to my son because the actual words didn’t flow well. I think with some more editing this could be a great story!
