I loved this book! The story of Addie Ant going on an adventure to explore the garden, along with the beautiful illustrations, was so inviting and would be a wonderful addition to any children's library, or gift for a grandchild..

This book has stunning illustrations! The story is cute, with some insightful messages throughout. I did think that the vocabulary was a little advanced at times for a children’s book. I’m not sure I’d see the 4 year olds I know being super enthralled and comprehensive of it, but they’d love the illustrations!

As we learn at the end, ants are actually social creatures and do interact with other animals and with their environment. Addie the Ant interacts by going out and having an adventure! The illustrations are bright and beautiful, and the story is sweet. In the end, Addie is at home at the end of the day tucked safely into bed.
Thanks to NetGalley for letting me read this

This book has bright, beautiful artwork. My 7 year old daughter loved looking at the pictures. I think the story was okay but she enjoyed the artwork the most. I think that the way it was written would actually appeal to adults more because it uses phrases and sayings that kids are mostly unfamiliar with.

This was a cute book, beautiful illustrations and a good catchy title. I like how the aunt’s gave Addie some freedom to explore for herself. Becoming independent is important and it is hard if adults are not willing for you to do it by yourself. They trusted Addie. Trust goes a long way. I also liked the ant facts at the end of the book. I learned something. It was enough information to not get overwhelmed, but to make a reader want to help the earth and maybe look into more information.

Addie Ant Goes on an Adventure, the charming picture-book debut by acclaimed singer-songwriter Maren Morris and former schoolteacher Karina Argow, takes readers on a delightful journey through a vast garden inhabited by helpful insect friends. As Addie Ant embarks on her first solo adventure, the story beautifully unfolds, highlighting themes of independence, friendship, and the importance of knowing when to ask for help. The collaboration between Morris and Argow, complemented by the colorful illustrations by artist Kelly Anne Dalton, brings the characters to life in a vivid and heartwarming way. This sweet book is not only a celebration of friendship but also an exploration of the magic found in nature's abundance. Join Addie Ant and her insect pals in this enchanting garden adventure filled with growing vegetables, blooming flowers, and the joy of shared experiences.

Well, this was just a wonderful little story. Addie is headed out to an area of her world where she hasn't been. Along the way, she meets a variety of creatures who are happy to help. It's this help that teaches Addie to not be so scared and learn from others. The illustrations of this one add so much to the story. I loved how they made the story come to life and show what life looks like for insects. Thanks to NetGalley for the look at this April 2024 release.

Addie Ant wants to travel alone between two garden beds. But along the way, she needs help. She asks her friends to assist her, and they're kind and thoughtful.
I like the message of how it's okay to ask for help. And all the insects treat Addie with kindness. I appreciate that I could read this story to children of all ages without worrying that it might be scary or frustrating.
There isn't a lot of education about insects, but that's okay.
The colorful illustrations are beautiful and sweet! Readers can see vegetables, flowers and dozens of items found in nature.

Addie the ant is off on an adventure through the garden. She meets great friends along the way and faces her fears of trying something new. The illustrations in this book were great and added to the story on each page. I love the message of not being afraid to ask for help when you have questions, this is a great message for all to remember. The story ended with bonus facts about ants.

This was the cutest adventure through the garden! Incredibly well-written with smart wordplay and beautiful illustrations. The characters were all so fun. I’d love to follow Addie on more adventures!
Thank you to NetGalley and Chronicle Books for the ARC. All opinions are my own.

Get ready to go on a magical adventure with Addie Ant as she seeks her independence but realizes that assistance is always there for the asking.
Friendship is valued as so integral to Addie's journey as we are introduced to buddies such as Lewis Ladybug and Cleo Cricket. They are friends to be cherished and trusted, two qualities that are always required in companionship.
Maren Morris's authorship is so apparent as I read the melodious text. The illustrations are beautifully drawn and are vivid and striking. This book is a lovely addition to young children's literature.

This is a charming story with luscious illustrations. Addie is going on her first solo adventure and encounters a few worrying circumstances. She is helped to face these worries by other insects she is familiar with.
A wonderful standalone story that can also be used as a learning tool in a number of ways. There are a few spots where the story gets choppy and there are occasional over done descriptions but they are most likely not to be noticed by an interested reader.

What an absolutely STUNNING book. Some of the most gorgeous illustrations I've ever seen, and the colors are lovely. The story is well-written, with flowery prose that is fun and whimsical, and I love the adventure the little ant goes on. So sweet!

This was a book with amazing illustrations. The illustrations give so much to the story and a better understanding of the environment and where everyone is. The story is about Addie going on an adventure through the garden area where she lives and coming across different insects. The insects help guide her along the way because she does not know where she is going. When she encounters each of the insects it seems like their only purpose is to be vividly described with big words that students of this age group would not know, give a quick direction, and then throw an unneeded fear towards Addie for her to encounter and overcome. The story seemed rushed and with unneeded "drama" thrown in. Addie leaves with no fears ready for an adventure and while on the adventure the "adult" insects in the story warn her of dangers to beware of, but do not help her or join her to keep her safe. Overall it is a story about overcoming fears and being brave but other stories portray the message more clearly than this one.
Thank you NetGalley and Chronicle Books for an advanced e-reader copy of this book.

Oh my GOODNESS ! This book was soooo cute and the pictures not only enhanced the story but it enriched it too ! Don’t get me started on the ANT 🐜 jokes that made it in as well ! I was giggling so hard ! This book is destined to be a SMASHING HIT with the kiddos once it publishes !

This is an adorable kid's book that teaches kids not to be afraid of adventure and new things. It reminds us that asking for help isn't just a good thing, but also necessary sometimes. It perfectly explains to kids that there are things to be enjoyed everywhere if you are willing to step outside of your comfort zone to experience something new.

I received an arc of this title from NetGalley for an honest review. A sweet picture book about Addie the Ant, who strikes out on her own. She goes from place to place, trying to find her way. Sometimes she gets lost, but she always learns a lesson. Cute illustrations but a lot of small text.

simply adorable! I love the imagery of the garden, the animals interacting and getting along, and especially the eccentric ladybug!

I absolutely loved reading this book with my 2nd grade daughter! From the adorably draw aunt, to the detailed and multi-layered garden pictures, and most especially the validation of emotions and doing hard things, this book was fabulous! Additionally, while my daughter is not yet at the reading level to be able to read Addie the Ant by herself, it was easy for her to follow along, and I would say about 50% of the words were sight words so she either knew or could easily guess them.
We're very much hoping for more Addie the Ant books!

I loved this sweet little adventure. If you're seeking whimsy and themes of persistence and friendship, look no further. Addie takes the reader on a seemingly small, but somehow also grand, journey, meeting up with familiar friends and navigating her way through the garden. Very fun and great for a wide range of children. The illustrations are inviting and intricate, allowing older readers to find themselves equally absorbed in the oversized garden setting as well.
