This is a phenomenal story about Dante Risande who is the King's right hand. He has always been a ladies man with a silver tongue having no problems with women warming his bed. When it came to women they were like clay in his hands to mold anyway he desired. That was until he met a beautiful servant named Gianelle (Gia) Dejiat who rejected his insincere flattery quite easily, but this was the first for the flirtatious Dante that all women seemed to desire.

Unfortunately Gia, this servant girl, who rejected Dante’s flirty insincere advances is accused of murdering the Lord she had been working for! As the King’s second it is his job to look into these charges which means he must purchase her as his slave and keep her under observation. This will just mean another prison to Gia that she will want to escape from.

Gia has been a slave most of her life which she hates more than anything! She has been abused most of her life by the men who have purchased, therefore is the reason she despises men so much! Furthermore, she is being framed and accused of killing the lord she had been working for. It seems rather too convenient this crime happened just as she was trying to escape this Lord's castle! As the Lord was found dead in his bed as if the crime was done in a perfect package tied with a bow! Will Dante be able to prove Gia’s innocence?

The problem is the more time Dante spends with the lovely Gia the more he wants the one woman who rejected him. He sincerely cares for her since getting to know this incredible woman who makes him feel so many different emotions from anger to hilarious laughter and love, realizing he would do anything for her except the one thing she truly desires to make her accusers vanish. Especially since she now lives with a target on her back where the real killer wants to murder Gia!

Will Dante ever be able to break down Gia’s wall and show he is a man she can trust who would never harm her? Do Dante and Gia have a chance at a future or will she be hung from the neck for a crime she did not commit? Read and discover the truth!

I have been reading Paula Quinn books for over twenty years and her books are always mesmerizing and drool worthy with her swoon-worthy heroes and sassy, independent, heroines. I read this book in one sitting as I simply could not put it down! It has all the elements historical romance readers absolutely love. A book I absolutely loved so much!

A Norman knight lives in darkness after the murder of his younger sister. He knows who committed the crime, but the man and his followers still elude him. While looking for a rebel against King William, his heart is captured by a beautiful slave. He will do anything to possess her. Set after the Norman Conquest, it's a very passionate love story with lots of steam.

Lovely Historical Romance

I fell in love with Dante. He was no ordinary nobleman. Many years ago, his sister was killed. He vowed revenge on her killer. This could have turned him into a cruel man, but instead, he was kindness itself. Yes, he was kind to Gianelle because he wanted her, but he was kind not just to her, but to everyone. When Gianelle was accused of murder, he protected her. However, her accuser was not going to give up.

Gianelle was determined to resist Dante. Her life as a slave taught her to distrust men. Could Dante win her heart? Would he acknowledge that what he felt for her was much more than lust? What about the man who accused Gianelle of murder? What would he do, and could Dante and Gianelle escape his web of evil? I enjoyed this story and would recommend it to those who like medieval romance with suspense, treachery, and intrigue.

The Unchained Heart. My fellow readers I loved the book. I consider this love story to be exceptionally written. Our romantic couple is wonderfully written as well. The writer did a terrific job of focusing the book on our main couple, Dante and Gianelle.
The two characters were simply amazing. I absolutely loved the love hate relationship between the two. Well it was more of a love hate for Gianelle. For Dante it was more so of fascination and love. Which isn’t so bad for how Dante physic is detailed from the book.
Because with a man that’s described like him in the book- what woman wouldn’t want a piece of that?! I imagined him as (you guessed it) Adonis. Dante was described with powerful thighs and a well corded, strong back. The heat oozes from the passion that he has for Gianelle. His passion is an inferno of pure lust.
Don’t tell Gianelle that though. She would run for the hills. But I think that Dante has some possibilities that may work in his favor and sway Gianelle to his big strong, safe arms. I liked how Dante’s character is portrayed in the book. He’s described as a man who loves all those that he allows into his small circle.
His word is his bond. He feels that it is his honor to protect the ones who seek protection from harm. Gianelle’s character is more of a take charge, head on lady. Her reaction of action without thinking kind of places her into some bad positions. Having Casey at her side helps when there are days that both ladies need comfort and protection for one another.
I consider the book to be a good read. The characters are all fun and entertaining. I found the story to be very exciting. It was easy for me to cuddle up to and take in this love story. The characters made it very fun through their dialogue, actions and their backgrounds story that’s connected to the plot.
I give this book two snaps and a, twists until next time my fellow readers. Read on!

I didn't love the background of this book, slavery is rough, but the love story was good. I'm still not sure how I feel but an interesting read.

Such a great book! Dante only seeked for revenge until he met Gianelle, who only wanted to be free to choose her path. Who would have thoguht those two needed each other? I loved the way you write and I hope to read more from you.

This is a first time read for me by this author but it won't be my last. The story captured my attention from the very start and kept me engrossed till the very end. Dante is on a mission for the King and when he encounters the lovely servant Gia, he is quite taken by her, but she wants nothing to do with him. She refuses his help even when she is accused of murder. But Dante can't just sit by and do nothing, he has to find out the truth. The only way to help Gia is to buy her, which doesn't score any points in her eyes. The more she keeps him at bay, the more he is attracted to her. Gia has been a slave all her life and is skeptical of men, to say the least. Especially given the fact that servants were sorely mistreated in that time. Such was the case with her current master, and that is why she is caught escaping and accused of murder when he is found dead. Dante inserts himself into her troubles and takes her away to his home. With enemies approaching to cause her harm, Gia soon learns Dante's love is something she can count on no matter what happens.
A captivating novel filled with suspense, drama, and romance, I simply couldn't put it down! The storyline flowed smoothly and the plot twists had me on the edge of my seat, anxiously turning the pages to find out what happens next. A very well-written and enjoyable read!

What a gripping plot! Right from the get-go, I was in love with Dante and Gianelle; his compulsion to care for her and Casey's safety added to his character. There were no frills to mask his 'flaws'; this made the love between Dante and Gianelle so beautiful. The friendship between Gianelle and Casey was so lovely. The fact that there was no major plot twist as to why Casey resembled Dante's dead sister was not a disappointing factor - sometimes things are just the way they are.

I enjoyed the humour of James; his quips were quite memorable.

This suspenseful and entertaining novel kept me engrossed from the Prologue to the Epilogue. Set in a dark time of history where lords could use and abuse their servants in any way they wished, Gianelle and Casey found that by staying close to one another, they could protect themselves - to a degree. Gianelle was definitely the stronger character and often had to take punishment in order to protect Casey from their lord. Visiting Lord Dante Risande is on a mission for the King, and when he finds himself face to face with the faerie-like Gianelle, he is instantly smitten and is surprised when she shuns him. However, her actions alert him to trouble ahead and before Dante realizes it, he is spiriting Gianelle and Casey away to his own holdings. Enemies abound in this novel, together with betrayal and espionage, but the hard-won love between Dante and Gianelle eventually brings the lovers together. I received a copy of this well-written and dramatic romance as a gift through Dragonblade Publishing and NetGalley and this is my honest and voluntary review.

Gianelle is a slave and she and her best friend are desperate to escape. Freedom is the most important thing for her.
Dante is one of William the Conqueror most important Knights. He is searching for an enemy of the King who murdered his beloved sister as a way to hurt him.
This historical romance is filled with adventure and excitement. Our characters have some important life lessons to teach each other. Some they will not enjoy. The story will grab you on the first page and keep you interested all the way through.
Very enjoyable read.

A new author for me to read and OH My Heart! This author is fantastic!! I couldn't put this book down for a minute. Action, banter, wit, villain, heat, mystery, drama all the pieces of a great plot rolled into one story. The characters demonstrate the differences of class, power vs submission, determination, survival and more. A true page turning book. Be prepared with tissues as this will pull every emotion you have into play before you ever reach the end. Truly magnificent!

The Savior. The Servant, and Freedom to Fly:
All I can say is Wow! What a fantastic story this turned out to be. I wish I could give it more stars. I knew from the prologue that starts off with a tragedy that this was going to have me gripping and hanging on to every word and reading every page until the amazing heart stopping intriguing ending.
Dante and Gia were spirited, exciting, fun characters that filled my heart with lots of joy, desirous passion, lots of humorous angst along with a bit of a mystery to solve and lots of betrayals, plus a deeply emotional confession that actually had palpitations running throw my heart.
I was glad to have a tissue box ready, a lady's fan, and tall cool drink for some of the more involved scenes.
Special mention for James the tower guard for his special hearing ability that was quite impressive to say the least.
5 Star: Cover: Quite Lovely
