I'd like to thank Netgalley and Bloom Books for gifting this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I loved the story line. I thought the world building and character development were pretty believable. I was rooting for Farrah and Blake from the get go. They were both likeable and had great chemistry together. Their romance was fun to read about and the spice was very spicy when they were together. I did find the story predictable and at a certain part found myself saying, "I knew it!" This is a duology so I can't wait to read the second book. You can't go wrong with Ana Huang!

*If We Ever Meet Again* by Ana Huang is a sweet, emotional new adult romance with a strong focus on fate, friendship, and self-discovery. Set in Shanghai, the story follows Farrah and Blake as they navigate love, cultural experiences, and personal growth. Huang’s writing is engaging, and the setting adds a refreshing backdrop. However, the pacing can feel uneven, with some parts dragging while others rush important moments. The emotional connection between the characters is heartfelt, though the storyline follows familiar tropes. While not groundbreaking, it’s an enjoyable read for fans of slow-burn, second-chance romance stories.

If We Ever Meet Again by Ana Huang is a heartfelt and swoon-worthy romance that captures the magic of second chances and the complexities of love. Huang does a brilliant job of balancing sizzling chemistry with emotional depth, creating characters that are both flawed and endearing. The book explores themes of forgiveness, personal growth, and the intricacies of long-term relationships, making it a compelling read for anyone who enjoys a slow-burn romance with a touch of drama. The pacing is perfect, keeping readers hooked with a mix of tender moments and heart-pounding tension.

Thank you for the copy!
This book took me on an emotional rollercoaster, and by the end, I was absolutely heartbroken for the main couple. While I enjoyed following their relationship as it blossomed, the ending left me frustrated—especially with Blake, who, in my opinion, proved to be a coward. That being said, I’m definitely curious to see how (or if) he redeems himself in the second book.
One of the highlights of this novel was the friendships. The dynamic between the friend group added so much warmth and fun to the story, making it even more enjoyable to read. I also really appreciated the sweet moments between the main couple—some scenes were just so heartfelt and endearing.
I’m not a fan of the misunderstanding trope, which played a role in the story. That aspect was a bit frustrating for me, but overall, the book was an easy and engaging read. Despite it, I genuinely enjoyed the journey this book took me, and I’m eager to see where the next book takes these characters.

Genre: Spicy Romance
Rating: 2/5 ⭐️
Spice: 2/5 🌶️ 🧼
Summary: Farrah is studying abroad in Shanghai when she meets a handsome college football star, Blake. They have an undeniable attraction but she wants something serious and he is anything but.
Thoughts: Honestly, this one felt pretty juvenile to me. It was packed with so much unnecessary filler and details that I found myself losing interest frequently.
There was just enough drama sprinkled in to keep me turning pages, but the characters never fully grabbed my attention. And it still ended on a cliffhanger, which was frustrating considering the book could've easily been half the length.
Unfortunately, this one's a no from me.

Was so excited to get approved for this because i LOVED the Twisted series. but Ana....girly pop.....what was this my love? It was just ok for me. I did not care for the cheating pregnancy trope. at all. I'm gonna read the next one and hope it gets better.

I was not expecting the "Un-HEA" at the end of this book *SOBS* but i mean rightfully so. I was expecting this to be like all of her other series in which each book follows a different couple. I can't wait to read on what happens next for them and how they move through life as I KNOW they get together from reading Twisted Lies.

I'm not the biggest fan of the cheating trope so I should have known going in, I wouldn't be the biggest fan of this book.
I do really like that I was able to compare Ana's growth as an author from this backlist series to the twisted series to the kings of sin series.
It did give that classic forbidden and tortured love story that I forever love from Ana's work. There was a good amount of tension between Blake and Farrah and I really enjoyed the journey of their friendship and flirtation to something more.
This is definitely the vibe of a new aged romance with the tone and dialogue between characters. It felt a little immature at times which is to be believed with college aged MCs.
Overall it just wasn't my favorite and when it comes to Ana's work I will probably just stick to her adult romances.
Thank you Bloom, Ana Huang, and NetGalley for this eARC in exchange for my honest review.

I probably would have really enjoyed this when I was in middle school. Too bad I'm not though. Maybe when I'm in the right mindspace I can enjoy this better.

ana huang is an auto buy author for me! this book does not disappoint! i can’t wait to read the rest of the series!

Really enjoyed this book! I ended up reading not as ARC but instead purchased this book after it was published!
Ana Huang does an excellent job of capturing the audience with her story

If We Ever Meet Again by Ana Huang is a swoon=worthy romance book. The characters are incredibly likable and the story is paced very well.

This was such an amazing introduction to this series. Reading the prologue, I was already stressed and attempting to figure out what led the characters to an outcome such as that. The more I read, the more I fell in love with their story, and the more I forgot about what I was heading into.
The world-building and character-building were pretty great in my opinion. It didn't take up the entire book in the beginning, and it was a nice pace as we learned about all of the characters in this story. Learning their backstories was really important as well, especially given we know how this book is going to end thanks to the introduction. I was worried at first that it was going to drag on and on since there was a second book that was paired with this one, but the story flowed in a natural way as the characters grew up. There were a few time skips in the story as well which I actually ended up liking, so it didn't feel like it was rushed at all.
The characters themselves were amazing. I loved Blake so much even if I thought that he was a moron for simply refusing to communicate. I was rooting for him from the very beginning and I truly appreciated his growth within himself and his relationship with Farrah. Farrah was absolutely perfect in my eyes. She truly had a good head on her shoulders and didn't deserve what she went through and I was so proud of her when it was time to make the heavier decisions at the end of the book. She was truly strong and I couldn't wait to see how she faired in the second book.

I love Huang’s books. They are the type of book that I just want to sit and read in all one sitting, which is exactly what I did!
Thank you #NetGalley and #sourcebooks for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

I don’t care what anyone says, I will just eat up anything this woman writes. Her characters and plots always just keep me turning the pages. I needed to know what was going to happen. Personally for me, this one started out so much stronger than the ‘Twisted’ series. I honestly wish I read this one first.

Thank you to Netgalley and the Publishing Company for this Advanced Readers Copy of If We Ever Meet Again by Ana Huang!

I picked this up expecting just another run-of-the-mill romance, but this book completely surprised me.
Shanghai as a backdrop? Absolutely gorgeous. The author does an incredible job of making the city feel like another character in the story. And Blake? Those dimples and that whole "I quit football to find myself" vibe? Totally swoon-worthy. I'm not gonna lie - if a guy like that had approached me when I was 19, I would've been a goner.
What I loved most was how the relationship didn't feel rushed. Yes, it's a whirlwind romance, but there's genuine emotional depth. Farrah isn't just some naive college girl - she's complex, she's conflicted, and her internal dialogue feels refreshingly real. The tension with her friend's boyfriend at the beginning? Chef's kiss of drama.
If you want something that'll make your heart race and restore your faith in passionate, unexpected love? "If We Ever Meet Again" is your book.
Definitely recommend for anyone who loves a travel romance with substance!

I thought this was very good and I will have to add this to the shop shelves. Thank you for the chance for us to review.

I loved the Twisted series, but I think works like this translate better as adult fiction. Reading about college kids who seemingly never go to class... maybe I'm just too old for this type of setting now.

I liked a lot of elements of this one. I liked the different opinion on football! I liked all the different careers. I do really really wish there was some honest to god conversations happening and everything is not all that it seems with the one plot twist. Looking forward to seeing if Im right in the next book!
