this just didn't do it for me like other Ana Huang books have. the cheating trope (not spoilers it's on the first page) is so hard to get people on board with and this wasn't an exception.

however i really did love the friendship dynamics the girl's group had and the way Ana wrote about the "magic" and specialness that often surrounds college memories like this one.

special thanks to netgalley and the publisher for providing me with a copy of this book!

I read through this book quickly A story of friendships made in an unknown city. . I loved the playful and funny banter that took place between the 2 main characters. The love story was sweet and tender.. Question is will it survive. The test of time ???

Not for me. I found the characters annoying and the plot to just not be compelling. I've read Ana Huang books I have enjoyed more this one was just not for me. Do not recommend.

I was so excited for this ARC because I absolutely adore Ana Huang. I knew that she was re-releasing her first series, this If Love series and when I saw this book on NetGalley I instantly had to request it!

I am going to give this book a solid 2.5 stars but rounded up because of my love for Ms, Huang. This book unfortunately fell so flat for me. It didn't have the same atmosphere and feel that I normally gravitate towards in her other series. I found that the characters themselves were so annoying or dull, almost like caricatures of what college students would be. I feel like this being her first published book that there has been a lot of fine tuning with her writing and the difference really shows. I didn't really relate or like any of the characters so it made it extremely hard for me to like this book.

If people pick this book up as their first ever Ana Huang book with this re-release, I am afraid that those people may not stick around for her other series (which are sooo much better - especially Kings of Sin.)

I am going to give the other books in this series a try because I feel like her writing may get better as the series progresses. Thank you so much NetGalley and Bloom Books for this arc!

I read the Twisted series and really enjoyed Ana Huang's writing, but this book was definitely not for me. I didn't connect with the characters at all, I actually found them to be quite annoying - even the side characters bothered me. It was a letdown and I wouldn't recommend.

Thank you NetGalley & SOURCEBOOKS Bloom Books for an ARC copy of this book!

I am a recent fan of Ana Huang, and this felt very different than the Kings series or the Twisted series. This is the first part of Blake and Farrah’s romance, set in college in Shanghai. We get to see them become friends, fall in love, and then get torn apart. The ending dragged, and this book didn't feel like Ana's writing to me. I'm not sure that I would recommend this book over the most recent books of Ana's.

My goodness this was awful. I was so disappointed because I normally like Ana Huangs writing. But this one just had so many misses for me. There were plenty of times I wanted to just quit and file it away as DNF but I pushed through. As always, Ana huang includes multiple characters of Asian ethnicity (which as a Filipino American, I love!) but that was really the only highlight for me. The mmc was so cocky and arrogant I just couldn’t grasp how anyone fell in love with him. And the fmc just didn’t click for me. The side characters (their friends) were annoying too… and as a Filipina American, the stuck up behavior of the only Filipina character, Kris, was such a huge disappointment. Anyone who has met Filipinos know we are the friendliest people who love to host, entertain and have fun. Kris was none of those things. She’s what we call, maarte. The actual writing was also not on par with what I was expecting from Ana huang. It felt sloppy and lazy. By the end I was thankful for it to be over.

I was a bit nervous to read this book because of the ratings. It seems like you either like the book or you don't.
I personally enjoyed the book and Blake and Farrahs romance. I love how he fell for Farrah and all the cheesy cute scenes they had. I think it was so cool that the book took place in Shanghai and how close the group of friends were and how they all loved to explore different places. I couldn't believe my boy Blake did that to my sweet Farrah. Like why? I'm excited to read the rest of the series to find out what happens. I'm hoping they end up together.

I just finished If We Ever Meet Again and really enjoyed reading a book from Ana Huang’s backlist. She is a go to author for me and I’ve had this series on my TBR for a while! I always love the characters she creates and the friendships that she portrays. I did not expect this to end on a cliffy…so I’ll have to dive into book two of the series asap to see more Farrah and Blake!! Thank you to SOURCEBOOKS Bloom Books and NetGalley for the ARC.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this arc.

Disclaimer- you will need to read the second book, this book does have a bit of a cliffhanger/not ending to the characters story.

This is a very cute college romance, and a good story showing a couple trying to beat obstacles while being together. I enjoyed the dual pov and need the next book!

I could not wait to read If We Ever Meet Again once I found out I was receiving an ARC. I loved every part of this book & can not wait to read the next one. This is an amazing love story & one I wish I could read again for the first time. Ana Huang is at her very best in this book!

Thank you NetGalley & SOURCEBOOKS Bloom Books for an ARC copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Thank you Bloom Books for the copy of If We Ever Meet Again to read and review! I thought this was such a cute college romance!

This had me laughing and crying and feeling all the feels. Farrah and Blake are perfect yet when something comes between them he decides to let her go to protect her (and himself). The settings were beautiful to read. This is dual POV of the two main characters and I loved getting to see inside both of their thoughts.

FYI for the romance lovers -- this does not end in a HEA and there is a book two for this couple.

I have mixed feelings on this one. I really enjoyed the setting and the concept sounded really good. Unfortunately, the characters were just a bit too immature for me. I felt like it seemed more high school than college. The conflict also was a big no for me., and I hated how Blake handled it more than anything. I know their story is supposed to get a happy ending, I'm not sure I will continue to get to that though.

It's been quite some time since I've read something with such teenage angst. It was giving throwbacks to mid 20s tv drama. Which for some, I can appreciate was not their vibe. It's also only the first half so if you went in looking for a HEA, this ain't it.

At first I was surprised this was written by Ana tbh because I'm used to her work being darker. Then I found out she started writing this when she herself was 19 and it made perfect sense. For a debut I really enjoyed it. It also even got some tears out of me.

I received a free copy of this book through NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

"Farrah had always equated the stars with love, which seemed as nebulous and out of reach as the diamonds in the sky. But as she stood there next to Blake, beneath the infinite skies of a foreign land, the stars felt a little closer."

If We Ever Meet Again is a love story between Farrah and Blake. I found that the pacing of the book was great. I didn't find myself bored and the story itself was an easy read. Ana Huang's writing was beautiful and I found myself highlighting so many phrases. The two met in a study abroad program in Shanghai. We follow their journey as they form friendships and learn more about themselves and each other in a foreign country - Farrah trying to keep a promise she had with her dad and Blake seemingly running away from a successful college football career.

I really enjoyed myself and even felt the heartbreak in the third act breakup, which honestly made me want to read the next book in the series immediately. I've read Ana Huang's other works - Twisted Love and King of Wrath - and while I enjoyed reading it, I didn't necessarily feel the need to continue on to the next books in the series. I have to say that the story is a bit predictable if you've read enough romance books.

If you like Ana Huang and you're looking for a love story with some smut, this is the book for you.

I had such a high expectations for this book as it was written by Ana Huang. Even though I didn't love it as much as I had hoped, it was still a fun read.

The book is a fast-paced romance of Blake and Farrah who meet while studying abroad in Shanghai. Through their shared friend group, they get to know one another better, and things then take off. Although I think this story has been told before, it is still cute. To be honest, I thought the plot was more authentic because the characters' shared goals and dreams. With a cliffhanger at the finish, all I have to do now is read the second book.

This novel featured a few incredibly sweet moments as well as a few spicily times. In comparison to Ana Huang's other books, this one feels almost like Young Adult.

Comparing this book to other Ana Huang novels, it was significantly different. I can tell without a doubt that this was one of Ana Huang's very first works. Although the writing in her most recent series is far superior, I would still say that this was a decent book.

Honestly, I heard so many good things about the twisted series (I am about to start it) but this was was okay to me. It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t great if that makes sense. Farrah said the one thing she would never tolerate and then he does it which makes me unsure how it will go in the second book or how I will be able to cheer/root them on. I get that Blake has some damage but so does Farrah. However, I do highly appreciate Ana Huang, and I really hope this review doesn’t come off rude or disrespectful, it’s just that this particular book wasn’t for me. Thank you to Huang’s team and NetGalley for allowing me this ARC.

Thanks to NetGalley!
I have read the twisted series from Ana Huang but hadn’t read any of her other books. This was sooo good! And the cliffhanger it ended on had me going to Libby to borrow the next book in this series! This has me hooked and I hope the rest of the series is just as good!

I love to read Ana Huang books. I enjoyed this cute romance story , the chemistry between Farah and Blake is undeniable, it was sometimes heartbreaking and I might warn you that it ends in a cliffhanger , I will definitely look forward to read the rest of the series,

I received an advanced review copy of this book for free and am voluntarily writing this review. Thank you NetGalley and huge thanks to the publisher.

Ana, you’ve done it again. A gut wrenching, heartbreaking but amazing story. I haven’t been in a huge reading mood, but I picked this up yesterday and finished it today. I cried so much I have a headache right now. I’m right there with Farrah and Blake.
You’ve done a wonderful job making us all yearn, and putting us into Shanghai with you. This group of friends and their adventures has been so much fun to ride along with. I love that Ana does always write stories with super supportive friend groups involved. I love that there’s always depth. Thanks for writing this one!
