Jodi Ellen Malpas is one of the few auto read authors who I automatically add to my TBR & read. So, when I saw that she has a Regency Era series & book available to read in advance, I grabbed it.
Unfortunately, I had a hard time connecting with the characters & the storyline. I’m not sure why. I ended up stopping around the 30% mark.
If you’re like me & you enjoy Regency Era & Jodi Ellen Malpas stories, please give A Gentleman Never Tells a go. The book just ended up not being for me & you may love it more than I did.
Full disclosure: The Title Feedback requires I give a star rating to submit my review/thoughts. If this was Amazon or Goodreads, I would give the book three stars because both outlets considers this rating to be “bad”. I also don’t want to ever impact an independent author’s income. This is why I’m rating the story three stars even though I did not finish the book.
Thank you NetGalley for giving me an opportunity to read on of my auto read authors in advance.
A Gentleman never tells is the second regency romp in the Belmore Square series. Frank Melrose, Eliza’s brother from the previous book has never wanted to write for the London times although he has taken the credit for Eliza’s much sought after stories in the newspaper as it would be scandalous for a woman to be writing for a newspaper. A complete philanderer he gets himself into all sorts of scrapes, but suddenly he realizes he does want to write particularly at this moment when a trio of highwaymen are causing havoc amongst the ton and Frank is convinced after seeing them one is a woman so he decides to investigate.
Of course I love anything and everything by Jodi Ellen Malpas, and this book was no different. I can't wait to see what she writes next!
I enjoyed this book!! I thought the characters were well developed. I enjoyed the story and would recommend to other romance readers.
Frank wants to take his father's printing business glboal. Taya keeps distracting him from unmasking the mysterious highwayman.
Lots of romance... terrific chemistry between the main characters. It's sexy like all of this writer's books. Really enjoy it.
Thanks to the publisher for the arc.
This is the first book I’ve read by this author. I didn’t expect the narrator to be the MMC but I liked it.
The story was intriguing, the writing easy to read-perfect for a quick weekend read.
Unfortunately the language was too much for my taste so I quit reading and just skimmed.
I’m assuming if you read the first book, you’ll enjoy all the appearances of that couple.
