Having experimented with meditation to varying degrees of success, I approached this journal with a combination of scepticism and hope. Thankfully, I found it inspiring.
A new theme is introduced each week, accompanied by daily prompts that encourage deep reflection and mindfulness. The structure is both flexible and supportive. The prompts are thought-provoking without being overwhelming, making meditation approachable (even for beginners.)
This journaling aspect is the vital core. I have never had much success with journaling but this book makes me want to try. It encourages you to incorporate mindfulness into every aspect of your life, rather than just teaching you how to meditate. The content is beautifully crafted, the language is accessible, the tone is encouraging, and the overall design is pleasing to the eye.
Whether you're a meditation guru or someone who can't seem to sit still for five minutes, I highly recommend this journal.
This is a beautiful book all about mindfulness. I found the various prompts to be very helpful. I really love this book and plan to continue using it. Thank you to NetGalley and the Publisher for an ARC.
Lovely calming book. This is such a great meditation journal with gorgeous watercolour illustrations. I like that this is achievable to do and is a great resource to go back to.
Oh my goodness this book/journal was lovely. From the daily meditations and affirmations to the gorgeous watercolor illustrations. The book is calming and relaxing.
Kelly Smith’s Mindful in Minutes book is a beautifully curated meditation journal which encourages the reader into a developing practise of personal reflection. It offers thoughtful prompts, directed meditation and written exercises to assist those dealing with anxiety to find peace and calm in their lives. The watercolour illustrations included are a lovely feature of the book.
Thank you to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group – Fair Winds, for a review copy in exchange for my honest opinion.
I think the coolest thing is how it says that the people who get the book will be able to scan a code to hear the daily meditation instead of just reading it. This is a really great little workbook, and if I had the real book instead of the ARC, I would keep a separate notebook to do the exercises and do the whole thing periodically.
There is a progression, with different explanations of stressors and how to use mediation and affirmations to overcome these mental obstacles, and I imagine I would see growth over time.
It's nice that it's a relatively short program, too, because it feels achievable.
"Mindful in Minutes" is an excellent resource, especially for those new to meditation, mantras, and journaling. It serves as a perfect starting point for beginners, offering easy-to-follow practices. The inclusion of QR codes on each page, leading to guided YouTube sessions, enhances the practicality and accessibility of daily activities. Additionally, the book features beautiful watercolour illustrations, adding an aesthetic dimension to the mindfulness experience. "Mindful in Minutes" would make a thoughtful and appreciated gift, making it a valuable addition to one's journey towards a more mindful and balanced life.
This is a very helpful mindfulness journal. There are a variety of prompts and activities to guide into mindfulness. The colors are calm and pleasing. I'm ready to break into the 8-week plan!
I do not have anxiety, but I am most definitely an over-thinker. So, I figured I will take a look at this book because meditation could be very useful to me as well. I love the layout of the book, and the daily small tasks are simple, yet effective. I have not yet tried to do the eight week long programme, but will definitely get to it! if you have anxiety I think you should try this one!
This is an absolutely beautiful book and is as useful as it is visually appealing. The watercolor illustrations throughout the book invoke a sense of calm all by themselves. I found myself wanting to start the journal right now but will wait until the book release in January!
I was originally drawn to this title because of the subtitle “you are not your thoughts.” I’ve been telling myself this for a while now due to my recently renewed meditation and mindfulness practice, but it’s not as simple as it sounds. I can see how the guided meditations and the questions for journaling in this book will make a huge difference in my life. Also, there is a scanner code that will lead you to a page for each of the guided meditations where you can hear the author guiding you through them, instead of just reading them. Unique and valuable!
Thanks to NetGalley, the author and publisher for an advanced reading copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
NetGalley ARC review on app.
*I could not actually do the activities due to app and not a physical book.*
Omg as a meditation instructor and yoga instructor this is so amazing. From the layout and design quality, to the true authenticity in the prompts and activities through out this journal. Highly recommend to anyone and I will absolutely recommend to my students.
I really wish I would have gotten the arc physical copy, I love this so much. Instantly buying this when released
