If you long for the golden seasons of Grey's Anatomy (pre-musical episodes), you're going to love Welcome to the Cornish Country Hospital. Danni relocates to a new hospital, but can't seem to leave the drama of the past behind her, and better yet, there are even more secrets to unravel at her new job.

I've never read Jo Bartlett before, but I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for her future books - I thought the first half of the book was like a perfect medical drama story, then leaned more into the stories of the characters. Every character felt nuanced and interesting and the setting was vibrant and specific.

This was great. I'm so grateful to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for allowing me to read an advanced reader's copy of Welcome to the Cornish Country Hospital.

🏥 Welcome to the Cornish Country Hospital ~ Jo Bartlett 🏥

🌟 A huge thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for an advanced reading copy of this book in exchange for an honest review 🌟

I absolutely loved this book! 🤩 I discovered @jo_bartlett123 at the beginning of the year when I stumbled across “The Cornish Midwife” and absolutely loved it - I’ve read two more in that series this year and love knowing I have four more instalments in that series to go ,as I’ve just found Jo Bartlett paints so brilliantly the community and the team and all their interactions, so that I just want to return again and again to those characters.

When I saw this on NetGalley I was so excited to be able to read another medical-based book set in the beautiful setting of the tiny Cornish town of Port Kara, and knew it would be as full of drama and warmth.

I really, really enjoyed this book, from the dog-walking rambles to hospital highs and lows, and all the friendships and relationships old and new.

An absolute highlight for me was the crossovers with the Cornish Midwife series, with one character from that series present throughout and still the very same 🥰 and cameos from a couple of others I loved to see.

I love finding series and authors I love and worlds it’s just such an unwind to retreat into, and am so glad to have found Jo Bartlett and the little towns of Cornwall. 🥰

I loved everything about this book from this best selling author.
On the Cornish coast of Port Kara, St Piran's Hospital consultant in A&E Danni Carter is always kept busy, her best friend Esther is marrying Lucas who Danni has been yearning for the past seven years and that secret has to be kept to herself, as time goes on the specialist trauma surgeon at the same hospital as them both, she starts to see him for what he really is a cheater but will her best friend listen? and can Danni stop her from making the biggest mistake of her life.
This book is all about secrets, and there is a lot of them from staff and patients alike that makes this book a superb read right through with lots of emotions entailed in the chapters, it once again an unputdownable story and I loved it

A really promising start to a new series by Jo Bartlett. Enjoyed the storyline and characters, and loved meeting a couple of the Cornish Midwives again!

Read and reviewed in exchange for a free copy from NetGalley. I love Jo Bartlett's books so was excited to read the first book in her newest series. I liked Danni, although was initially frustrated by her explanation for moving to Cornwall, but became invested in her story. Sensitive themes were handled well. I enjoyed cameos from Cornish Midwives characters and places, and am looking forward to reading more of this series.

Welcome to the Cornish County Hospital was a great intro to what I hope will be a great series. Some interesting characters were introduced and I hope we will continue to get to know them in future books.

Oh it is so good to be back in Cornwall and in the company of Jo Bartlett’s characters, new & old, in a new setting.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book; as always Jo Bartlett creates wonderful characters & a storyline that holds the reader’s attention from beginning to end.
I did feel that there was some parts to the story that weren’t fully concluded, but perhaps that will continue into the next book, which I am looking forward to already.
A truly enjoyable read.

Jo is quickly becoming one of my favourite authors and her latest book is unputdownable. From the opening chapter I want to keep reading about Dannii and her dilemma surrounding Lucas. It's the typical I love him but don't tell him that reminded me of another book but there's something about Dannii that keeps me wanting to read.

Then there's Connie and the secret she has been keeping all this time.

Will it be happy ever after at St. Piran's and the town of Port Kara. All I say is bring on boon two!

When Danni moves from London the Cornwell to start a new life without her best friend's Ester and Lucas her new life turns upside down when they also arrive to work at the same hospital.

She has has feelings for Lucas for a while after sharing the sadness in loosing their parents and helping each other through Med school. Ester is now engaged to Lucas and things start to unravel and the person Danni thought Lucas was.

A lovely story of love, secrets revealed and future plans makes this another beautifully written book by Jo Bartlett.

This is the first book I have read by Jo Bartlett. I enjoyed it immensely and will be delving into her earlier books as a result.

I thoroughly enjoyed the novels from Jo Bartlett's The Cornish Midwife series, although I still have to complete the series.

When I heard there was a new series from her, I immediately replied to the blog tour invite. The fact it's set in a hospital was interesting, as I've had a lot of experiences of hospitals in my life, and still do.

I enjoyed all the characters, and it was so great to have a Jo Bartlett book to review again. I'm looking forward to when the next book in the series is out.

Thanks to Jo Bartlett, Boldwood Books, and Rachel's Random Resources for my eARC in exchange for an honest and voluntary review.

Danni escapes to Port Kara to start a new life and a new job at the new hospital which is St Pirans. She doesn’t bank on certain things happening to her on the beginning of her journey. But that’s all I’m going to say as I don’t want to spoil it!

I am a massive fan of Jo Bartlett! I’ve read a lot of her books now so when I got the opportunity to read a brand new book early I couldn’t resist as I’m impatient. It didn’t disappoint at all. I loved being back close to Port Agnes where the Midwife books are set, even though this is a new series I still loved the familiar setting.

Jo’s narrative just captivated me from the very first page. I didn’t want it to end and I read it in a day. I can’t wait to see what the rest of the series has in store. I really enjoyed the storyline of this one and was a little frustrated at the same time.

I just have to read any book that Jo Bartlett publishes as I know it will be such a great read! ♥️

Having been a huge fan of Jo Bartlett's Cornish Midwives series I was so excited for a new medical series from her (and even more excited when I realized there would be some cameos from my favorite midwives characters - it was especially nice to see that Gwen has not changed at all). I liked Danni right from the beginning and understood her desire for a fresh start, too bad her best friend and unrequited love decided to crash in on her new life, and just as she was finally starting to settle in and find her bearings again. I was so glad when she started to see in Lucas what so many others already had - that he was a grade A ass. It helped that she had met Charlie who was the complete opposite and showed her what it really meant to be loved and respected by someone other than her brother and best friend. On the topic of Charlie, he may have been a little too good to be true but I'm okay with that because Danni deserved to have someone like him in her life. I was a little disappointed in his reaction to Danni's admission that she had once been in love (or thought herself to be in love) with Lucas - he didn't even really give her the chance to explain things from her side. I guess that at least showed he wasn't perfect either. I was also disappointed with Esther's reaction to Danni when she tried to tell her about what was going on with Lucas. They were supposed to be best friends and the fact that she immediately backed Lucas and accused Danni of trying to ruin the wedding was just cruel. The whole Lucas drama isn't fully wrapped up by the end so I'm really hoping we get to see him get what he deserves in a later book. The side story involving Connie was also really interesting and I was glad that it wasn't an immediate happy ever after for her otherwise it would have been too unrealistic even for a fan of romance novels. There also a lot of great medical scenes here, much like the birthing scenes we got in Cornish Midwives. Overall, this is a great start to the series and I can't wait to see what the author has in store for us.

I love Jos books and was excited to discover a new one. Set in the stunning location of Cornwall, we meet Dani who had escaped from London to work in a and e. Soon she’s shocked to find the people she’s escaping from arrive. Many a complex relationship thorough out. Will Dani find what she wants?

This is a truly stunning book penned by Jo. A story of making a new start and forming new friendships after moving to a different area of the country. Until the main character (Danni's) best friend (Esther) turns up with her boyfriend (Lucas) in tow, Danni and Lucas have a long past but Danni has reservations about Esther and Lucas's forthcoming marriage. A heart warming story with twists and turns, but a lovely read for autumn evenings, which I found impossible to put down. Thank you Jo and for the ARC.

An enjoyable start to the new series. I liked the characters and how they linked to the previous series slightly. The people were realistic and so was the detail. I liked how the relationships developed and found their way. I am looking forward to more books in this series.

Oh my gosh this book is amazing where to start.
I cried, I laughed, I cried some more and I wanted to bang people's heads together

I'm so glad Connie got to meet Charlie,
I'm really happy Dannie and Esther stayed friends.
And that Charlie and danni met and have Brenda and Maggie
I can't wait to see if this turns into a series.

Danni moves from London to Cornwall to start a new life but then her best friend Esther and fiance Lucas follow her. They're the reason she has moved as she thinks she's been in love with Lucas for 7 years. Good book but thought it ended very abruptly

This was exactly what the doctor ordered (no pun intended). Lovely feel-good fiction with a now familiar setting and cameos from a couple of the Cornish midwives to boot. If, like me, you loved that series, then this is the perfect new one to get into. Already looking forward to the second installment.

What a fantastic start to a brand new series by Jo Bartlett!

The setting was sublime and i truly wish I had a cosy cottage on the coast.

I loved the character growth of the FMC and the MMC and the supporting characters were just as lovely! I do have a soft spot for an Aidan in any book because my son is Aidan, and this Aidan was such a fun loving character I hope to get to know better.

The found family trope is always a win for me and I hope I get to see more of those characters too! ( no names to prevent spoilers!)

I can't wait to see what happens next!
