In an age beset by mental health problems, and at a stage where this has almost reached epidemic proportions globally, we need all the help we can get with regard to staying positive and remaining ( reasonably) sane.

In this context a practice of gratitude, where people learn to recognise the blessings that they enjoy on a daily basis - both big and small, with the latter being very important - can be enormously beneficial.

Such a practice, as outlined in this book, may help people fend off anxiety, alienation, depression, and a general of exhaustion in our lives, when stress has become a constant, and many are struggling to cope.

This can be a very useful tool for people seeking to be happier and mentally healthier - both of those factors often ensuring better physical health as well. Definitely worth reading.

I am only just starting this 90 day journey of gratitude but this journal is an excellent way to dive right in. As someone who does carry a large negativity bias from childhood trauma and is looking for ways to combat it - this journal can be a huge help. I really enjoyed the intro pages. In order to change the negativity bias you have to become aware it's what you're doing/that is what you carry/is your baseline - which it is for me lol. This book offers a great reminder that once you become aware of your negativity, you can use intention and remember to CHOOSE different. That choice is how you begin rewiring your brain to something other than the negativity/trauma you've faced.

Sometimes it's hard to remember I have choice and I don't have to keep walking down the negativity path and living in the past or keep expecting bad things to happen. For me it's time to choose and create differently. I'm happy to have this journal on my side for the next 90 days where I actively am going to choose gratitude over negativity. I love that for each day this journal offers space to write about a moment to savor and what I'm grateful for. Two things to focus on over the usual negativity. I also loved the reminder to look out on your horizon for something good. This book is a great and gentle reminder to look out on your horizon and life for the good things because they are out there if you are willing to shift and "see" them!

As someone who struggles with introducing new habits into my routine, and negative thinking, I really enjoyed this book. It's a great introduction to practicing gratitude and how to incorporate it into many different aspects of your life. Kamen is very gentle with the readers, and consistently reminds the readers to be gentle with themselves. I routinely get discouraged when I forget to do a self-care task or stuck in a negative thought loop and having this book acknowledge that things like this are almost inevitable was very encouraging to read. I appreciated having the prompts and examples as well, since I'm sometimes stuck on what to write about.

Short in length, but not in quality. I love how there are prompts as well as quotes on gratitude, to help you get in the mindset of thinking of ways to be grateful. Highly recommend it!
*I received a copy of this book from NetGalley. This review is my own opinion*

I really loved this guided journal and self help book! Being able to reflect in a guided way through positive thinking and reinforcement and then having it break open into a full journal was really fun. I love journals like this. Sometimes a completely blank page can be intimidating and having a place that gives you guide freedom is really lovely.

The Gratitude Effect Positivity Journal by Randy E. Kamen, EdD is a journal for listing things you're grateful for. The book gives you prompts to help and sayings that will help you cultivate an attitude of gratitude. It is beneficial in listing things one is grateful for and helping you make this a habit. Kamen also discusses the reasons why this is so important for your happiness and general well-being. I liked that the author discusses the science behind this practice. Anyone looking to begin a gratitude journal will find this helpful.
Thank you @Zeitgeist and @NetGalley for this ebook review copy.

As the new year set in, I have been considering simple, but effective ways to make a lasting impact on my mental health. The idea of keeping a gratitude journal has been floating around in head, but I wasn't sure exactly how to do it, or how to make it effective. I am thankful to have come across Dr. Randy Kamen's book, The Gratitude Effect Positivity Journal. This book is divided into two parts; the first part provides the background of why a gratitude journal is helpful for mental health, and the second part is a 90 day journal. I loved the clear and simple steps provided to make a gratitude journal effective. Dr. Kamen also provides a list of journal prompts that will be helpful when I am looking for journaling ideas. I also enjoyed the page-a-day journal, especially the quotes at the bottom of each page. I would highly recommend looking into a hard copy of this book to allow oneself the space to handwrite your thoughts. #NetGalley

Time and time again, it has been proved that incorporating gratitude into your day is beneficial. This is basically a more research-backed version of The Five Minute Journal that has been popular on social media the last handful of years. I liked reading the information on why gratitude is important.

I would not recommend this on kindle /eBook format. The format of the journal does not carry into a digital format well.

I liked the introduction, the information was evidence based. I expected the journaling prompts to be deeper. I hope the printed version of this book gives space for journaling, the ebook wasn't laid out really well.

I picked this up because I love reading anything to do with gratitude and being grateful. It can be difficult in these trying times to remain grateful for what we have when what we have is hard to obtain sometimes. There were great tips in the book and since this was a digital copy, I was not able to utilize the journal portion so a physical copy would be the cherry on top. Thank you to Netgalley,, the publisher and author for this ARC.

This book is about how gratitude can help change your outlook and well-being. The first section talked about some of the science behind this and how daily gratitude practices (finding things you're grateful for) can actually change how you view life. Most of the book was the journal, with an area for you to write your daily gratitude list and a quote about gratitude for each day. The author provided some prompts in the first section that help you think of things you're grateful for. It was an interesting, short book. I'd recommend it (especially the print version) for those who like to journal.

This book had some really great and inspiring quotes. Had helpful tips and suggestions. The rest of the book is a notebook of sorts that you fill out with your gratitude. I had the digital copy, but this would be great in physical copy. Really great, especially during this season of thankfulness.

The Gratitude Effect Positivity Journal : 90 Days to Rewire Your Brain. This is a workbook for making your own entries everyday. There is an introduction with lots of basic information on the benefits of gratitude and how to use the journal. It is good for anyone who has not considered gratitude as a blessing in life, and anyone who feels as though they need to get into a better more positive mindset. The 90 day entry pages all have the same format apart from a gratitude quote at the bottom, which is individual to each day. It is a good way to reframe your mindset and to commit to completing it everyday. I have reviewed the digital format but for me as a diary the importance will be in the quality of the pages and the physical feel of the book if I am going to write in it everyday. I would buy if as a gift assuming the quality of the hard copy is excellent.
