Love in Tandem is the most zany, quirky, hilarious romantic comedy ever. I loved every minute of this laugh out loud sophomore edition from Becca Kinzer. 5 stars!
Charlotte Carter and Zach Byrant are the most adorable characters I've read in ages. Their ability to laugh at themselves, and each other, made the story so relatable even while being over the top unbelievable. My advice to readers is just to suspend plausibility, go with the flow and enjoy the laughs that are on most every page.
Becca Kinzer has a surefire hit on her hands with Love in Tandem. I appreciate Tyndale House Publishers making a copy, via NetGalley, available for review. All thoughts and opinions are my very own.
LOVE IN TANDEM by BECCA KINZER is a fun romcom with charming characters and some hilarious moments. There is also a deeper meaning as two people with opposite interests ride a tandem bicycle for ten days, hoping to win a large sum of money, and learning a lot about themselves and one another in the process. There is also an emphasis on faith and prayer in a person’s life.
Charlotte Carter desperately needs money to build up the Bailey Springs school’s music division or she will lose her job. She is determined to live in Bailey Springs near her family for the reat of her life. Zach Bryant, her ex fiance’s brother, is adventurous and determined to not live in Bailey Springs. He is only there for his brother Ben’s wedding to his ex girlfriend. Due to confusion and motherly interference they end up as a couple at said wedding and the adventure begins…..
Love in Tandem is an enjoyable read with some laugh out loud moments.
I was given a free copy of the book by NetGalley from Tyndale House Publishers. The opinions in this review are completely my own.
You ever know what can happen on the road. I was surprisingly moved by this. Was not expecting to cry but sobbed like a baby. Don't worry, lots of laughs and love in-between.
Definitely a good story for romance fans! A cute story that's a tad bit unusual. A little too much romance for my taste, but not for a lot of you.
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the advance e-copy of this book. All opinions expressed are entirely my own.
A wonderful story that is an inspiration for me to look at life differently. So many things pass our way that we miss or misinterpret. I was encouraged to try new challenges.
Forgive the pun, but this has all the hallmarks of a pleasant and heartwarming Hallmark film.
There are two obvious main characters, thrown together on a 500 mile tandem bike ride, which they have to complete in order to win the challenge set by an eccentric wealthy benefactor. His prize money would mean that Charlotte's dream of a full time music programme for her local school will be fully funded.
Running alongside the burgeoning romance between Zach and Charlotte, is Sophia's tale. Sophia being Charlotte's little sister, who decides to check up on the estate of said wealthy benefactor while waiting for her sister to complete her challenge. She too, finds romance in the least likely of circumstances.
There is much to enjoy in this sweet and gently amusing book It's light and easy to read, and fundamentally good at heart.
While demonstrating Christian values and threaded through with an acknowledgement of God and His miraculous care, there is no feeling of being preached at.
Thank you NetGalley and Tyndale House for an eARC of this title in exchange for an honest review
This book receives my highest praise, because on the night I lost a close family member and needed to NOT THINK, I picked this up hoping it could distract me and maybe even make me laugh. Becca Kinzer more than came through for me with a book I might love even more than her first, Dear Henry, Love Edith (which I LOVE).
I was snickering from the very first sentence, and honestly was attached to the adorable and hilarious Charlotte from the first page. Becca has such a great and IMO rare style of being able to write a clean rom com that has just enough of the ridiculous to make it completely hysterical. She nails the mix of humor to romance to well=paced story.
Charlotte is desperate to find the money to bring a real music program to the school where she works, and somehow her only legitimate hope is to ride a bike for hundreds of miles with the brother of her ex-fiancé. She dislikes anything outdoors, dislikes her partner on this adventure, and her antics on their attempt to complete the challenge and win the $25,000 are definitely worth the price of admission.
Please keep writing, Becca. I'm here for anything you write. And thank you for helping me get through a tough night of grief with a clean, funny, delightful distraction.
Cute book. I enjoyed the characters. I don't love "clean" romance, because romance isn't clean. Real, raw relationships are not clean, neat, or tidy.
