There were some great points to this book. Overall it felt a little too neat and tidy for a complicated subject. As a fellow foster/adoptive parent, I didn't resonate with this book.
This is such a great book to help kids who are adopted to see how important they are to their families. I could see myself getting this book for myself if my family is ever in the position to adopt.
Every child who has ever been adopted has very similar questions, but those who have come into a family from foster care have even more questions and insecurities because they feel rootless as well as abandoned and even less able to think of permanence. Written in the format of questions and answers, the book is written from an Evangelical Biblical perspective with a goal of reassurance.
Suitable for reading WITH someone of any age including ESL, and great for gifting, especially to a school or your local public library.
I requested and received a free temporary e-book on Adobe Digital Editions from Tyndale House Publishers | Focus on the Family via NetGalley. Thank you!
