This was my first read by Donna Grant, and I enjoyed the book. The plot is way out of my comfort zone; however, it was a lovely diversion. I did not read the previous books, but this one can be read as a stand-alone. Although the magical and new-world elements are new, I felt that enough information was provided so that I did not feel lost as a reader.

Grant encapsulated the lives of Armir and Malene - the fact that Malene has lost her memory and Armir tries to help her recover was what made the story. I would recommend this title and look for ward to reading more of Grant's releases.

Reign by Donna Grant
Malene has been missing for a year - she disappeared when she fought the Coven leader. Armir has been searching for her ever since.
When he finds her she is fighting Asa - one of their own and is with Viking raiders. He uses his magic to knock her out, takes her to a cave and seals them in. When she wakes she has no memory of her life as Malene and plans to use her magic to dominate and take power. Armir can not let that happen.

This is the third book in the series, The Fated, but it can be read as a standalone.
I enjoyed the characters and plot. It is a fun story with plenty of action and I look forward to reading more from this author.

Reign (Kindred: The Fated Book 3) by Donna Grant
Malene, Lady of the Varroki, and Armir, the Lady’s right hand have a hidden love for each other. She awakens in Norway as Dagny, a witch with no memories after a battle and Armir never stops looking for her. There is angst, lost and found memories, enemies, discovery, evil, hardship, love and steam to get us to a very HEA. As with all Donna's books I loved this series.
Reasons I enjoyed this book:
Page-turner Action-packed Romantic Wonderful characters Unpredictable Great world building Scary Steamy Tragic Entertaining Informative Happily Ever After Easy-to-read.

Loved reading the mesmerizing and spellbinding story. When Armir finds Malene, she has lost her memory, doesn't remember being Lady of the Vorroki nor Armir. Read the highly recommended, wonderfully written, and a must read riveting love story. Can't wait to read the next story in the series by the phenomenal author, Donna Grant.

Malene is Lady of the Varroki of Blackguard. She was fighting an enemy when she disappeared. She awakes in Norway as Dagny with no memory of who she is. She is not the woman she used to be. Power is all that drives her.
Armir is Malene's second in command. He is the one that finds the Lady's and trains them to be the protector of the village. Armir is in love with Malene and has been looking forger since she disappeared.
When Armir locates Malene he is disappointed she doesn't recognize him and wants nothing to do with him. But Armir will not let that stop him and he takes them to a cave and spells it so neither can use magic or get out. Will Malene's memory return and will she feel anything for Armir?
Great story. Sexy. Magic. Witches. A love that lasts forever.
