This was the best book of the series so far! It had a seriously good Oh shit moment in it and I loved the mystery. Guessed 2 baddies in this but one was a surprise. I love the characters, and really liked getting to know Ms. Wallace better in this book. The slow burn of Gray and Mallory is perfect. Waiting impatiently for the next one!

Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for my copy in exchange for an honest review.

Not sure why this didn’t go through earlier this year. It posted on social. This series is so captivating. The author is superb at drawing you into the character story. I have been a fan since book 1 and loved each new installment. This 3rd one does not disappoint. Historical time travel at its finest. I appreciated the opportunity to receive an arc. Thank you!

Rip Through Time #3. Kelly Armstrong has a knack for developing out of the ordinary premises into an engaging reading experience. Modern day homicide detective Mallory Atkinson has been transported to Victorian Scotland following a near death experience at the hands of a mugger. In this third entry in the series Mallory is becoming adjusted to inhabiting the body of Catriona, a housemaid in the household of Dr, Duncan Gray. Dr. Gray is an undertaker with forensic skills who aids the police in investigating. As his assistant Mallory is able to utilize her modern day detecting knowledge to advantage. The Victorians were intrigued with death and Egypt so when prominent archealogist Sir Alistair Christie is murdered during a mummy unwrapping party the hunt for the killer is on. The cast of characters are vividly drawn each with diverse and engaging traits that bring them to life on the page. Historical data about day to day life in late 1800s Edinburg ...fashion, culture and events of the time are embedding in the narrative without detracting from the story. With two or three ongoing sub plots threading through the solidly plotted main story line the reader is engaged and compelled to discover what happens next. I recommend this unique series but to fully appreciate the back story and Mallory's choices it is best to begin with the first entry. An absorbing atmospheric read for anyone who enjoys a blend of history and mystery. The depictions of early day forensic development alone is worth the read.

This is the third instalment in the Rip Through Time series and I loved it!

The characters, plot, and mystery were all well developed. The story kept me guessing as to what would come next, and I devoured the book needing to know how it would end.

Thank you to the publisher for the eARC.

This is a great and well-written story about a woman, Mallory, who has traveled back in time. In her current job, she is a detective, but she has traveled back to the 19th century, in Catrinas body as a housemaid/assistant to Dr. Gray. Gray has lost his ability to practice medicine, due to him digging up a grave, however, it is his thinking that it was because he was having an affair with a widowed woman. He does engage in forensic autopsies for research purposes The characters are invited to a mummy unwrapping when they find out it is the host of the party who has been murdered and exchanged for the original mummy. An investigation begins to determine who the perpetrator of this crime is.
I enjoyed the characters, the setting, and the main character's ability to use her formal training as a detective to help solve the crime. Gray and one sister are aware of that she is not from that time period. His pretentious other sister, Annis, does not.

Disturbing the Dead is the third #RipThroughTime novel. I love this series, where modern-day Canadian detective Mallory still finds herself in the body of a young housemaid in Victorian Scotland. A few key characters believe her story, which makes time travel even more fun. The mystery of this novel comes at a nummy unwrapping party, the person found is a modern body. The party's host is also missing. The plot allows for lots of discussion of burial practices and ethics, from ancient Egypt, Victorian Scotland, and contemporary life.

This is quickly becoming my favorite series!
I love the whole series and the plot! Mallory begins this book waiting for Dr. Duncan Grey and his sister to return from a mysterious errand. Then when he returns his other sister invites Dr. Grey and Mallory to a scandalous event of the unwrapping of a mummy. Deciding to go they go to the mummy unwrapping party and soon after they find that the host is missing for the unwrapping the mummy. Deciding not to delay the event the host's wife asks Mallory and Duncan to unwrap the mummy and when they do they find out where the host of the party is. He was killed and he was wrapped like a mummy so they must investigate to see what happened!
I loved this one and this one pulled at my heartstrings because I feel like while we all knew how Mallory felt about Duncan now we know. This one was awesome! I am now patiently waiting for the next installment of the series! I love the banter between the characters and the respect that Duncan has for Mallory. The characters are great and the story is great! SOOO good! This is a must-read series!
Thank you Minotaur Books and Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review this one! This was a treat and I loved it!

This is the third book in A Rip Through Time Series following following modern day detective, Mallory Atkinson who is stuck in Victorian Scotland. While you could read this as a standalone, I would recommend reading the series in order. I am really enjoying this series. I love the characters and the mystery in each book. I can't wait for the next book in the series.

Many thank-yous to Kelley Armstrong, the publisher, and NetGalley for this early advanced copy in exchange for my honest review!

I started this one without realizing that it was part of a series, book #3, in fact. But, this is one of those books that did not make me feel like I needed to have read the first two in order to understand it. Armstrong gives just enough information to the reader to provide context but also not so much information that would annoy anyone who did read the first two books.

I find the Victorian era to be a ripe location for the mystery and crime genre, with a hefty callback to Sherlock Holmes.

I thought the mystery was interesting in that it involves Egypt and mummies which in itself has always been a time period perfect to foster mystery.

The story is well-paced and even includes time travel, what! It worked well though.

And the characters were really good, Annis especially, though she's more of a minor character. Her sass and sarcasm made me laugh out loud. The protagonist, Mallory, is smart and tough.

I will start off by reviewing this book in the series first. I am no stranger to hoping into a series after a few books, but there a few rare times that after reading a chapter in that I absolutely have to stop and read the first book because I love the storyline so much. This is exactly what happened when I picked up the third book in the Ripped In Time series. 'Disturbing the Dead' did not disappoint, and I feel like with each book, I loved the storyline and characters more.

Thank you to NetGalley, St. Martin's Press/Minotaur Books for a copy of this book. All opinions in this review are my own.

I absolutely adore Kelley Armstrong's writing, and this series is no exception. This is book 3 in A Rip Through Time, and I am anxiously waiting for book 4. The murder mystery elements, crossed with science, crossed with historical fiction make this just a really enjoyable time. This one has mummies, even more character development & borderline romance, and I just thoroughly had a good time.

Although the writing was good this is not my type of book. I got lost with all the different characters being in new bodies and who was who and which character they were talking about.
I see the movie when reading and these characters were coming and going and upstage and stage left and right and I just could not follow.

Just like all of the others in this series, this was wonderful!

There isn’t too many things that I can say without spoilers but I recommend you start from the first book. You will fall in love with the characters, the adventures and the friendships.

I did love the ending of this one and so glad we are going to see more of Jack :)

I think this was my favourite book from the serie yet. But I might be bias with my love of Egypt and its artifacts. The story was intriguing and kept me out of bed late many nights. And what about that surprising twist of event! My heart stopped. The author is doing a great job in developing the story and the relation between the characters. It is so heartwarming! I am so sad I need to wait until next year for the next adventure of Mallory, Isla, McCreadie and Duncan.

Thank you to the editor and Kelley Armstrong for a digital ARC of this novel via NetGalley.

I found this installment to be quite humorous, and also more emotional than the previous books. I am looking forward to continuing this series.

I love this series and this one is probably the beast of the bunch. In the same vein as "A murder in Time" series. Time travelling detective must decide between her two worlds.

I love the “A Rip through Time” series and I was so excited to read this book. It didn’t disappoint. The main character in the series Mallory is so likable and the time travel aspect makes it so interesting. Her thoughts of a different time. I hope this series has many more installments.

I absolutely love this series. This book is a suspenseful and thought provoking piece. The disappearance of the host is fantastic mystery to unwrap. Highly recommend!

Going into this one I definitely should have read the first two books to get the backstory, but I liked the setting, the mystery, and the characters. I love this author’s writing style, as I’ve seen by previous books I’ve read by her which helps to easily draw you into the story. I’ll definitely go back and check out the previous books.
