Restless ghosts held captive by. revenge. Secrets must be revealed and laid to rest. Matchmaker, matchmaker make me a match. Death and time bring two lovers together. Finding love takes many twists and turns.
A fast paced recommended read with a few stories containing descriptive sex.

This was a wonderful book and I'll be purchasing it for the library!
Ich weiß ehrlich gesagt nicht, wie ich dieses Buch bewerten soll, da ich es aufgrund relativ kurzer Ausleihdauer (ohne Verlängerung) nicht lesen konnte.
I love a good anthology and this one hit all the marks. They stories were well written and I learned about some new authors I hadn't read before
I loved this!! Gothic Historical Romance Novellas all in one book. I absolutely ate this book up! I cannot stop thinking about these stories! This is the best book! I love the different stories by all the different authors.

This was a great book! Lots of mysteries and love abound! Great stories, all short enough to read in a single sitting. I love these types of books, I get to read new to me authors for the first time, which is always great. More authors to investigate, and more books to read! I love mysteries in my romance books so these were right up my alley. Some of the stories needed a little help and didn't make sense really but the good stories outweighed the not so good ones. All were love stories with a haunted theme and a happy ever after.
If you like reading romance with a spooky and haunted twist, then this is one collection you will definitely want to get your hands on. Put together by a wonderful group of authors, some I already knew of and have read their work, and some brand new to me, this set of stories will pull you right in and won't let go. The stories are short, so if you like to binge read, you can breeze through quite a few of them at a time. The stories vary in steam levels, so there's something for everyone. The stories are set in castles and mystical forests, the perfect backdrops to set the stage for some haunting magic. The stories will captivate you, spook you, and keep you on the edge of your seat. Wonderful stories to pull back out when Halloween is upon us!
An engaging and entertaining set that I am happy to have had the chance to read.
Thank you to Netgalley and Dragonblade for providing a complimentary copy. This is my voluntary review.
What a great collection of tales most written by some of my favorite authors, but a few who are new to me. I love reading anthologies that have a common theme. In this anthology, the commonality is haunting. It may be a place, a person, or a thing, sometimes with a bit of magic, but all delightful reads. It is difficult to name just one favorite though the very first offering from Meara Platt really sets the tone for the rest of the novellas. Though hauntings tend to be for Halloween, this collection can be enjoyed at any time.
What a fantastic anthology of spooky stories by Meara Platt, Chasity Bowlin, Mary Wine, Lexi Post, Mary Lancaster, Maeve Greyson, Sofie Darling, Mia Pride, Elisa Braden, and Elizabeth Rose. Each author’s writing style was captivating, and they all did a lovely job of engaging the reader quickly. Many of the stories were gothic and had romance and happily ever afters. While I enjoyed some stories more than others, they were all entertaining. I didn’t skim through any of the stories. I recommend this book to anyone looking for spooky and gothic short stories. This collection contained Regency, Medieval, and time travel (one) stories. I cannot wait to read more books by these authors!
Thank you to NetGalley and Dragonblade for the ARC!
A great collection of books for Halloween. Great haunted romances based on legend without too much crazy fantasy.
I love love love romance, but sometimes the cutesy sunshine isn't the right vibe. Sometimes I need a little spook. This book really scratched that itch. They were still easy fun reads, especially in the novella format, but had something to separate them from all the other ones I've read this year. If you're stuck in a rut or missing Halloween, I would highly recommend this.
A hauntingly sweet romance anthology. All are uniquely different and a fast read. Loved that I discovered new authors, along with a few of my favorites. Great read when you just want a short getaway. Thank you NetGalley for this eARC. I am voluntarily posting an honest review after reading an Advance Reader Copy of this story. #NetGalley #OnceUponAHauntedRomance
Once Upon a Haunted Romance
An Historical Romance Collection
Ten haunted historical romance novellas collected in one volume are a perfect way to get to know new authors or spend time with the writings of already favorite authors. Whether you sit down to read the book straight through or read them spaced out over time you will be in for a treat as you find a haunting of one sort or another in this collection.
The stories include ghosts ranging from angry to helpful with some from the distant past and others more recently departed. I have listed the stories with the authors who wrote them below and have included a short note with the stories I completed reading.
Once Upon a Haunted Cave by Meara Platt – A house party that sees a Duke and his odious elderly aunt’s paid companion falling in love as they solved the mystery of the young female ghost in nearby caves.
Once Upon a Haunted Gardy by Chasity Bowlin
Once Upon an Enchanted Well by Mary Wine
Once Upon a Haunted Haven by Lexi Post: A widow ousted from her home with nothing but a haunted house she inherited will find true love with the assistance of her ghostly relative.

Once Upon a Haunted Hillfort by Mia Pride

Once Upon a Haunted Horn and Hoof by Elizabeth Rose: A secret recipe for whiskey, a ghost who cannot rest, and a sudden betrothal might or might not be enough to align to clans and see a ghost finally rest.
Thank you to NetGalley and Dragonblade for the ARC – This is my honest review.
4-5 Stars
Am I late to the Halloween party? Yes I am. In my defence I just finished reading this book and needed to share it.
I love anthologies for so many reasons. The first is because I enjoy reading short stories/novellas and the second is because I get to discover new to me authors.

I read these stories in between longer reads and enjoyed each one.
Check it out and Enjoy!
A mixed bag of stories, some great and some middling, but most of them were very entertaining and fun! I adore this collection of authors, it was nice to get a glimpse at some of their larger series. A couple of the stories might have made more sense if I was familiar with the authors’ other works, but they all did a good job connecting on theme. Dragonblade continues to do great historical romance!
A range of stories between 3/5 and 5/5
A delightful anthology that blends historical romance and the paranormal. I appreciated the variety throughout the stories. We got a motley of settings (highlander, Victorian and even one contemporary story), heros and heroines from both the working and aristocracy; heroines that were spinsters, widows and single mothers; and a collection of both malicious and benevolent spirits. Meddling matchmaking ghosts were a recurring and highly entertaining theme.
My favorite stories in order of preference
Once Upon a Haunted Knight by Elisa Braden
Braden is one of my favorite historical romance authors and the reason I decided to pick up this anthology, so it was no surprise that I enjoyed her contribution the most. The chemistry between the leads and the build up of their romance was the most realistic out of the anthology. This story also had the most unique premise and the most steam. A must-read.
Once Upon a Haunted Haven by Lexi Post
This was the best of the "matchmaking ghosts" stories in this anthology, in my opinion. Noah was swoon-worthy as the male lead and I appreciated Juliet's character growth as she overcame her prejudices regarding class and the peerage. A very satisfying HEA and a sexy read.
Once Upon a Haunted Horn and Hoof by Elizabeth Rose
This one ranked up there for me due to the absurdity of it; a genuinely entertaining and funny short story. I just wish we could have gotten more of the main couple together, since they kind of took a back seat to the grandfather's crazy ghost.
This collection of stories is one you don’t want to miss! The amazing authors included in this anthology have gone all out and created some epic romantic tales and I honestly never knew what was going to happen in a few of these stories. The U.K. is well-known for its amazing landmarks, beautiful castles, haunting ruins of days gone by, and other worldly citizens (ghosts, fae, mythical creatures) so it makes the perfect setting for once in a lifetime romances.
“When spooky manors and or ghostly coastlines call, this stunning collection of haunted Historical Romance novellas is sure to leave you breathless with ethereal, romantic tales… Many of your favorite Historical Romance authors have come together for a collection of never-before published stories inspired by legendary hauntings in the British Isles. A derelict old castle? A spectral lady wandering the forests? These tales will give you a chill, a thrill, and have you reading them over and over. From the moors of Devon to the ballrooms of Regency London, and far north into the Scottish Highlands, these stories will bring you wistful dreams of legendary and haunting romance. You’ve never before experienced a collection like this by some of the very best authors in Historical Romance.
Authors in this anthology include: Meara Platt, Chasity Bowlin, Mary Wine, Lexi Post, Mary Lancaster, Maeve Greyson, Sofie Darling, Mia Pride
Elisa Braden, and Elizabeth Rose.
Lock your doors, light your candle, and settle down to this smashing collection of darkly-tinged romantic stories with unforgettable heroes and magnificent ladies. Romance has never been so daring… or so haunting!”
I highly recommend this collection and I normally am not one who enjoys the shorter stories included in anthologies. I am hopeful that several of these authors will expand their story into full length novels.

Fun collection of spooky novellas. Several of the authors were new to me so it was fun to get a sample of works by authors I may not normally read. A few of the stories were medieval and that’s a new genre for me too that I’ll probably read more of now.
A fantastic set of stories. I like the blend of paranormal and romance. Each author's story was unique. Enjoyed them all.
Just read the authors involved in you know why I rated this book 5 stars. I love Lexi post Chasity Bolin me a pride Mary Wine Mary Lancaster and so many more this book is full of paranormal romance and a few mysteries because it seems like you can’t have paranormal without a mystery right? This was a great book with multiple stories and definitely something for everyone my favorite was the one by Chasity Bowlin about the Blackwell curse but the others come in a close second I am being honest when I say there were two authors I had never read before and that was me a pride and Elizabeth Rose and I’m so glad I did every story in here is worth buying on its own so for it to be in anthology it’s just lucky for the reader like me. I want to thank the author the publisher and NetGalley for my free arc copy please forgive any mistakes I am blind.
