I got an ARC of this book.

This one really wasn't for me. Between the jokes about ACE scores (I am a 9, like not something I bring up on a first meeting or anything) and just the overall off feeling I had reading it, I didn't end up finishing it. It may get better. It might not.

I loved the idea and the first book in the series was more my speed it seems. I am curious at what book three will bring. I am hoping this was just a fluke where I couldn't handle the narrator.

Thank you to Author Collective 20 and NetGalley for the ARC of this novel. I have not read the first novel in this series but found it was not needed to follow along. This felt very mid to me and had a lot of sex scenes or at least more than I originally anticipated. It was a cute ending and relatively quick read. Not sure I feel the need to read more of these characters but it was just fine. 2 stars.

This book was laugh out loud funny!

I absolutely loved the dynamic between Yasmeen and Tyler, they are complete opposite and yet find common ground. I really enjoyed the sapphic romance, not much spice but it was still very hot to read!

The queer rep in this was fantastic and I really loved that there were special moments from the parents in this story showing they accept their children!

Definite read for those sapphic or queer loving readers!

"Les Be Honest" by Sarah Robinson is like a literary burst of sunshine and laughter! 🌞😂

Picture this: Hilarious escapades, quirky characters, and a storyline that's practically a sitcom on paper. From the get-go, you're thrown into the world of Les and her madcap adventures, and boy, is it a wild ride!

Les, our lovable protagonist, navigates life with a witty, infectious charm. Her interactions and banter with the supporting cast had me snorting with laughter. It's like being part of a sitcom where every scene is a setup for the next big punchline.

But it's not just laughs – there's heart woven into the narrative. Amidst the chaos, Les discovers some profound truths about life and love and embraces the beautiful mess of being human. It's like a rollercoaster of emotions, and I was here for every twist and turn.

Les Be Honest is book two of the Queerly Devoted series by Sarah Robinson. It follows an optimistic entrepreneur Yasmeen Kiani, and a property manager/ podcast presenter Tyler Adams, on their journey to open a lesbian bar and haircut joint.

I found Les Be Honest an easy read with plenty of laughter and spice. I enjoyed the banter between our main characters and friends.

I found Tyler's story a bit difficult to read because she truly had to hide who she was considering who her father was and how he didn't really accept her. I found that the fact that she had to hide herself to keep him happy was really triggering for me, considering I had to do the same. But it just made me love her character more, and she stood up to him in the best possible way.

I found Yasmeen relatable with the outrageous ideas of her past and how committed she was to trying to open the lesbian bar and safe space for trans and non-binary people to be able to have free haircuts. I loved that her family was so accepting of her, both about who she loved and her dreams.

Overall I really enjoyed this book, and highly recommend it.

Thanks to Netgalley and Sarah Robinson for a copy of the ebook. This review is left voluntarily.

Les Be Honest is a thought-provoking romance between an uptight, rule-stickler and a go-with-the-flow, optimist. I simply adored this book! Because it was so enjoyable, it was a super fast read. The author handles many different perspectives and subject matters very well, educating through entertainment. The characters are so lovable and relatable, so I was invested in seeing their journey playout. While Les Be Honest is a standalone story I recommend reading Baby Bank first. A book 3 in the series is coming.

Perfect amount of spice, romance, friendship, and real-world issues to make the reader think. Yasmeen was my favorite side character in Baby Bank because of her career/life choices and I thoroughly enjoyed reading her own story in Les Be Honest.

Beyond the characters what I enjoyed most was Sarah Robinson's take on the need for more safe spaces for women in the LQBTQIA+ community. It's a very different scene from the early 00s/ late '90s when there were more lesbian/inclusive spaces and she's right... some gay bars just don't vibe the same for women in the community. I enjoyed her unraveling Tyler's story and how it impacts her love story with Yasmeen and how their family interactions/acceptance/denial shape their identity. Both are very realistic takes on family dynamics for LGBTQIA+ people, looking forward to seeing what else Robinson has for readers in her sequels.

I can't wait for the next Queerly Devoted book! Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing a copy for an honest review.

I wasn't a fan of this author's first book, but I decided to give this one a chance. I'm glad I did. This was definitely an improvement, and I'm looking forward to her future works!

i loved tyler and yasmeen together. the spice was AMAZING. i just felt like the ending was rushed and abrupt. i also would’ve liked a scene at the end with tyler’s dad having dinner with them.

First off thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to read Sarah Robinson's Les Be Honest in exchange for an unbiased review. Robinson writes this steamy tale that follows Yasmeen a strong, independent, black, lesbian woman on her journey towards her most successful business venture yet - a lesbian bar. Her meeting of Taylor and the steamy relationship depicted between the two never leaves a dull moment. Yasmeen is easy to relate to in her struggles to censor and think before she speaks, especially around Taylor's white conservative family. You can feel the love and tension throughout that is just so real. We have needed more novels like this with real problems, real friends growing apart as life forces us to change and how we support one another.

I started reading this book because I was doing this "read the first chapter" kind of challenge, and this one was kind of high up in the list, meaning that it sparked my interest from the very beginning. However, as I kept reading, the interest was pretty much lost, and I can clearly identify two reasons for this. The first one is that the characters were not at all relatable. I don't always have to read books about people that I can relate to, but I do appreciate reading about people that I know actually exist and I could at least have a conversation with. The second reason is that I felt like the plot was going in circles at times, like the same situation repeated itself over and over again, it wasn't fun or interesting to read about.

I had an enjoyable time reading, especially since it was set in the DC area and the plot surrounded opening a lesbian bar. Unfortunately, I did not feel super connected to the characters but also I did not read first book---also why bc I'm done reading homophobia in lesbian romances idk I get it but that is NOT what people are reading for

Les Be Honest is about a woman named Yasmeen trying to open a lesbian bar that also does haircuts. I really liked that concept. She meets and unexpectedly falls for the property manager, Tyler, along the way. They face some opposition and drama and try to work through it. It just felt very dragged out at times.

I honestly thought I was going to like this more, but I just ended up having issues with it. The main character over explains a lot and (it might be me) is stuck on what race everyone is. She’s been to her Filipina friend’s house, the old people are the “palest of the pales,” her gf is “melanin deprived.” I don’t know if the author didn’t know how else to describe the other characters or what, but I was like ok… Also, the sex/fooling around scenes were cringey.

I really like Yas’s relationship with her family. It was very cool to see a family who was accepting of an openly gay family member. Her friend group was cool too, especially Isa. She was amazing. That was the highlight of the book for me.

This was such a great follow up to Baby Bank. It also works so well as a standalone.

I haven’t read such a sweet, wonderful sapphic romance.

This is the second stand alone novel in the Queerly Devoted series. I read the first, Baby Bank (June 2023) and enjoyed it. Yasmeen Kiani wants to make it big and after learning about the decline of gay bars she decides that will be her next venture. She actually has a solid business plan and her father’s approval. But the location she wants is owned by a very conservative real estate mogul. His daughter Tyler helps lease out his property while also running a successful podcast. Only thing is that she may not be as straight as her dad thinks.

Robinson is good at bringing in more serious topics in an entertaining story. I’ve never thought of the difficulty of getting donors for a person of color. Of course things are going to hinge on how Tyler’s family and dad respond to her being out to them. I did have a hard time connecting to Yas at first. She seems flighty but of course has a heart of gold. I didn’t feel the connection between Tyler and Yas. I never felt the pair were meant to be together. I usually enjoy fake dating but it came and went very quickly. This is a likable story and stands out for having a POC as a lead. But I’ve enjoyed other books from the author more.

When I started this review, I was like I don't remember anything about this book but I actually do.

I do think this book was cute, especially when Yasmeen is trying to open her own Lesbian bar. I like the chemistry between Tyler and Yasmeen. Tyler having to hide her personal life because of reasons broke my heart.

I thought this book was cute and I do recommend it.

I got an e-arc of this book on NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
