I've read a few of Cole Baxter's books now. They kind of all have the same vibe. The characters are a bit cardboard cut-out and the events that happens are a bit far-fetched. The writing style is amateurish and the dialogue never quite rings true and sounds like real people talking. They seem to be rushed out pretty quick for publication, so maybe that's the problem.

A great set of thrillers that did take me a while to read but I am glad I did. They are gripping, interesting, thrilling, with plenty of suspense and intrigue. There are plenty of twists and turns amongst the pages of these books that will keep you on the edge of your seat and keep you reading.

I enjoyed this series so much I need to start looking into what else Cole Baxter has written as he did such a wonderful job with this series. If you love Psychological Thrillers these are the books for you. I have to give them 5 stars for sure.

Thank you tom netgalley and the publisher for the ARC.
What a great set of thrillers. I love that I was able to have the opportunity to read all of them together instead of them being spread out and released over time like many others are.
The books themselves were great. Great suspense and some surprises that you will not expect.

She later grew up into a troubled marriage which cost he her finances as her husband used up all their savings leaving her with next to nothing leaving her with no choice but to move in with her ailing father who still thought her mother was live.

The Night Nurse:
The book flows well with good dialogue. The repeated use of the word "Darlin'" was like nails on a chalkboard for me every time I read it. The therapist in the book was annoying but Cole Baxter does an excellent job portraying trauma. The twist was predictable.
3 stars

The Perfect Suitor
Again, terms of endearment were overused. Felt like this book was 90% romance/smut, 10% thriller. Good plot twist but the overall story dragged.
2 stars

The Betrayal
Al of the characters are starting to sound the same to me - wealthy women with a history of trauma and a hot womanizer. The books would have been better as standalone titles rather than being marketed as "psychological suspense thrillers that will keep you on the edge of your seat" - even calling them domestic thrillers would be pushing it a bit. Overall a good story that kept me engaged, just not what I was expecting.
3.5 stars

I Won't Let You Go
Phenomenal book, I finished it in just over 24 hours. Gripping, kept me on the edge of my seat. If this book and The Patient (and maybe some others but those are the ones of Cole Baxter's that I have read) were part of the box set they could absolutely be marketed as suspenseful thrillers. I could not put down this book
5 stars

Overall for the box set: 3 stars. Too much smut, not enough thriller

Thanks to this box set, I've been able to check out a new author in my favourite genre. I am going to check out any other books by this author since I did enjoy the stories. Great psychological thrillers that were well worth the read. I don't want to say too much, but these were highly enjoyable. Each one kept me guessing and had great tension and surprises.

I read the first story and found the writing style just didn't work for me. I was expecting more of a gritty thriller whereas the first story bordered on romance.

I love Cole baxter so was so excited to read 3 stories in one and this was just the perfect selection. Each story is so different but with the same easy writing style and shocking twists and turns. One has a bit a more romance, one has more of a family thriller and so on. All of them have that same high standard of writing, well developed characters and original plot lines. Really enjoyable collection

The Cole Baxter Psychological Thriller Box Set by Cole Baxter.
The Night Nurse.
They seem like angels of mercy. Until you invite them in.
While going through a bitter divorce, Laura moves home to care for her widowed father who suffers from dementia.
Quickly realizing she can’t handle her dad alone, Laura hires nurse Bella and her dementia-specialist brother, Andrei, to look after him. The siblings are the perfect caregivers, effectively handling her father’s needs and mood swings.
Then accidents begin happening around the estate, and her dad takes a drastic turn for the worse. He becomes violent and claims he’s being poisoned. Is it true? Or is his illness causing paranoia?
As Laura tries to get to the truth, she begins to realize that the caregivers are not who they seem, that they may have a sinister agenda of their own. But who are they really? And what do they want?
The answers to these questions are more horrifying than anything Laura could ever have imagined…
Really enjoyable read. Twisty and gripping. 5*.
THE PERFECT SUITOR.
Three years after the tragic death of her wonderful husband, Charlene continues to mourn. As she struggles to pick up the pieces of her shattered life, she meets Samuel. Handsome and educated, this charming man is the perfect suitor, and Charlene slowly lets her guard down and opens her heart to him. But Samuel is not the man he appears to be. He has a dark compulsion. And an even darker secret.
Really good read. Twisty. Did not expect that. 4*.
THE BETRAYAL
Erin is determined to begin a new chapter in her life. Having freed herself from her violent and abusive ex, she’s starting over on a remote island where she can lead a peaceful, quiet life.
A good read. Little slow. 4*.
I WON’T LET YOU GO
Emily is devastated when she receives an anonymous note proving her long-term boyfriend has been cheating on her. Determined to confront him, she tracks him to a seedy bar far off the highway and they have a massive row. As she storms out the door, she rejects a stranger named Daniel who tries to pick her up.
A good read although detective Cole did surprise me. 4*.
Overall a good boxset. My favourite were the night nurse and THE PERFECT SUITOR. 5*.

The Night Nurse:
I really enjoy Cole Baxter's books. They are quick reads with interesting plots.
Laura discovered that her husband was cheating on her with his teen college students. She also found out that he had maxed out all of her credit cards and wasn't paying on the loans that were in her name. She decides to sublet the apartment she can't afford and move into her childhood home with her dad, who has dementia. It turns out that her father needs more care than she originally thought and started to look into full time care for him. Laura started searching for available nurses online and found a brother / sister team that was in her price range. They seem too good to be true. Once they've moved into the house, her father seems to be getting worse. Laura starts to believe that the hired help is not who they say they are.
The Perfect Suitor:
This is probably one of my favorite books by Cole Baxter. It got my attention from the first chapter. It was a little drawn out though.
Charlene has been mourning her husband for the last three years and she fells like it's her fault he was murdered in front of her. She barely leaves the house and has very little interactions with anyone other than her therapist. One day she gets a message on social media by an attractive man named Samuel. They hit it off. They both love talking about art and she finds him captivating. Charlene eventually meets him in person and begins to fall for him. He's so perfect. Except there is something off about him that Charlene cannot figure out. Is he being honest about his intentions or is hiding something from her?
The Betrayal:
This novel was not quite what I was expecting but it was still a good read! I would consider it more of a cozy mystery than a psychological thriller and it was a little repetitive. Erin moves to a small town where no one knows who she is except her dog Fenix! She is escaping quite the past and is trying to start over with the money she received from her recent divorce. Once Erin has gotten settled in and started making friends, her friends start being murdered. Is it her abusive ex or someone on the island?
I Won't Let You Go:
I'm kind of on the fence about how I feel about this one by Cole Baxter. His novels are usually quick and interesting reads. This one was very repetitive and a little too drawn out for me.
Emily works hard to pay her bills and she works two jobs. She almost never sees her boyfriend and she feels like things have been a little different between them lately. Emily is at home on one of her rare nights off when someone slips something under her door. A picture of her boyfriend kissing another women. Emily decides she needs to confront him. She drives 3o miles to a bar in a different town and does not get the reaction from her now ex-boyfriend that she thought she would. When she gets back to her car, she realizes that her car will not start. Too embarrassed to go back into the bar, she decides to walk home. On her walk back she begins to get harassed by a guy she briefly interacted with in the bar. He really is trying to kill her. Will Emily survive the night? Who is this guy that is torturing her?
