A nice way to test out Cole Baxter and his writing. Although these were a bit of a slow-burn for me, I did enjoy reading. Note, I liked some of his other books more than these.

The Night Nurse -this thriller about murder, money and suspense involving a daughter trying to hire help to take care of her father.
The Betrayal-this thriller is about murder, jealousy and starting over after an abusive divorce.
I won’t let you go -this thriller is intense, terrifying and about surviving a mad man.

The night nurse

I liked how there was attention for Dementia as you don't read a lot about it. The author did his research and the details were very accurate. The other surprising thing is that a woman was the abuser instead of a man, which was actually really refreshing. I wish I had more positive things to say, but oh my. This was like taking your first driving lesson..you move forward…you stop…move forward….stop…the flow just wasn't there. And I swear to God…if someone says “Darlin” one more time, I'll shoot that person. The plot twists were so predictable that a non-thriller reader would probably see it coming from the start (although there are exceptions). The characters felt flat and I would have liked more backstory. It wasn't the most horrible read, but definitely was not the best either.

The Perfect Suitor

Everyone who knows me or read my reviews knows that I don't mind a slow burn. This was like a 60% slow burn (sllooooowww burn) and I didn't know if I was reading a Thriller or a Romance. Probably a Romantic Thriller, but definitely not a Psychological Thriller. Now for people who read Romance and who want to try something else, this book would be great. If you are a seasoned Thriller reader, maybe not so much. The FMC was incredibly naive and sometimes I just wanted to slap her in the face. The last 40% of the book was better. This book had parts I enjoyed and with more tension building from the start, it would have been better.

The Betrayal

This one gave me more Thriller vibes. I enjoyed the storyline, but it was starting slow with too much chatter about non important things. Like, I'm a huge dog lover and I understood Erin her dreams, but it was just too much about dog grooming. The twists were okay and probably more enjoyable by new Thriller readers. Erin was relatable and I loved her love for animals. Just a nice read if you are looking for something easy.

I won’t let you go

Like the other books, it starts pretty slow. The premise is good, but the action could have started way sooner. The cat-mouse game was okay, but you have to expand your imagination a bit as some actions were just over the top. The end was predictable but think if you don't read a lot of Thrillers you would enjoy this book.

Overall this series was okay. I enjoyed parts of it and the premises were good, but could have been executed better. Tension building could have happened way earlier in the stories. It is a nice series for people who like to try out Thrillers or are new to this genre. I give this series an overall 3-⭐️ rating

This is a great starter set for anyone who hasn't read anything from Cole Baxter before, they are slow burners but the outcomes are good

This author is an expert in making your heart rate go through the roof with the amount of suspense that is included right from the beginning till the very last page. Highly recommend

Absolutely loved this collection. Has definately become a favourite to read. The 3 books are thriller and keep you reading more and more. I could not put it down at all.

This is the first time I have read books from this author. I am afraid I found them slow burners and very predictable and quite easy to guess the outcomes. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the chance to review them.

I really enjoyed reading this boxset! They had plenty of mystery and twists and turns to keep you hooked throughout.

The author's work was a different style for me, and each had good characters
The last one I Won't Let Go was a chilling story and thought the best in this 4/.1 set showing his style of writing.
Stories that show how life and changes effect a person and then one questions if you did the right choice.
Losing a loved one, how one reacts as if life was over.
The ex who tried to kill her, can she start again, or would fear hold her back.
Emily finds her boyfriend was cheating on her and confronts him. Danger and fear escalate for her as we read. The car won't start, no phone service and a stranger offers her a lift. A brilliant collection of four thrillers by Cole Baxter. These are all gripping stories that keeps you turning the pages, and are full of twists and turns.

Although all were not new to me i still enjoyed reading them. Everything you expect from this author, murder, mystery with twists galore. My thanks to netgalley and the publisher for my copy.

Great box set!! I have read all these books before and they were awesome! They had the usual, they had suspense, intrigue, action, murder, mystery, a great who done it and some really crazy twists and turns! The storyline was very interesting and had me glued to my kindle! I highly recommend reading these books and series! They're well worth reading! Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for sharing this book with me!
