Unfortunately I didn't like this title as much as I did Erica Ridley's other books that I've read. I don't think there was anything wrong with it, but I also didn't have very much fun with it either. I think Ridley is just much better at plotting out a story in a longer format. I haven't been dissapointed with any of her full-length novels, but all the novelas of hers that I've read just haven't done much for me.

I like the Cinderella story but thought this was a bit lacking in content. It seemed a bit bland. Not enough going on really.

Another great, though quick (novella) LGBTQ read from Erica Ridley. I love her books!

This one is very short - a novella so it gets to the point very fast. Being a twist on Cinderella , she didn’t need to spend a lot of time on story background but gets to the meat of it fast - telling us that Cynthia has eyes for the princess and not the prince when they parade through town … and it’s a mutual attraction! The ball goes quickly and after a steamy interlude, Cynthia flees from the prince, losing her shoe and the next morning during the search, things get … really interesting!

A fascinating twist on a beloved classic that I am absolutely in love with! Erica Ridley knows how to do it right - so as always I am confident in recommending this to all! Who doesn’t love a classic tale, especially with an LGBTQ twist!

I received an advance copy from NetGalley and WebMotion, and this is my honest feedback.

Erica Ridley stays fairly true to the structure of the original Cinderella story, in so much as Cinderella is dressed by an outside source to attend the matchmaking ball, but the license she takes to make it F/F is sweet, fluffy and endearing. It is of course instant attraction and instalove, but you wouldn't expect anything else.

That being said, this short story left me craving more... more of Princess Ammalia's life, more of their story after the instant connection, more romance, more steam, just more...

I received an ARC from NetGalley and I willingly leave a review
Cute retelling of Cinderella with a princess and a female pauper. The waltz at the ball got a few chuckles out of me. Everyone is a winner and they all lived happily ever after.

Thanks to Netgally the Publisher and the Author for aproving my request to read and review this book.
I love fairy tale retellings and I thought this book was intresting A Cinderella retelling in a regency setting. I liked what the Author was trying to do but I felt it was lacking the magic of a retelling of Cinderella I likes the LGBTQ+ twist to it and keeping some of the characters I felt the romance was too quick and the ending abrupt I just wanted a little bit more it was very short read. I give this book a 3 stars. It was enjoyable I just felt the plot needed something more

Cinderella retelling but with a twist, with a sapphic Cinderella and we have a beautiful and addictive love story that one wishes had more pages
.
Amalia arrived in the city with her father and brother in search of a fiancée to help them align their kingdom in Italy with England and strengthen their rule
.
Until when Amalia exchanges glances with Cynthia at the royal parade she can't leave her behind. But everything she wants is always taken away by her brother, the heir prince and heir to the throne.
.
When he sets his eyes on Cynthia, Amalia knows the game is lost and Cynthia will fall for the charming prince like anyone before
.
Without knowing what Cynthia's heart desires or if she has a way to escape her fate at her stepmother's house.
.
I really enjoyed this story, this novella of a classic retelling and it was very fun to read a light ending
.
Thanks to Erica Ridley for give me a copy of this beautiful book in exchange for my honest and voluntary opinion

Erica Ridley is superb at writing versatile stories.i was extremely fortunate to receive an ARC of Her Princess at Midnight from Erica Ridley via Netgalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own. This is a Cinderella story, except that Miss Cynthia Talbott, the Cinderella of the story falls into love at first sight, not with the Prince, but Princess Ammalia, his sister.  A very interesting read!

This novella had so much potential but I felt it was very limited by its short length. Their was very little background to the main characters and I didn’t feel very invested in the story.

Since it was short I read through to the end and while cute, even the ending felt rushed. Would love to see this concept fleshed out into a full story.

Cindirella retelling where Cindirella falls in love with the princess instead of the prince!
We have Prince Azzurro, an italian prince, coming to England to find a princess for himself while making the relations between their kingdom and England better by having a wife from the best England has to offer. But the problem is, one that catches Cynthia’s eyes is Princess Ammalia.
This is a cute sapphic retelling of the classic Cindirella story. It was an attraction at first sight between Cynthia and the Princess Ammalia. Their dynamic was cute, it’s a short retelling so we don’t get much angst.
Would I love it to be longer and maybe have more complicated plot? yeah sure. But I think this book is perfect as it is. It is fun, sweet and smooth read. There wasn’t much angst or unnecessary stuff that would hinder the experience. You can read it in one sitting and enjoy every second of it.
If you enjoy reading retellings definitely give this book a chance, I know you won’t regret it.
Thanks to Netgalley for providing me a copy of this book for an honest review!

What a delectable little sapphic retelling of a classic fairytale. Ridley does fantastic work in short order as this is a novella. Be openminded and treat yourself to this romantasy. Thoroughly enjoyed.

Thank you to WebMotion and NetGalley for providing an eARC for a honest review.

I love the idea of a Cinderella story where she falls for the prince's sister, but this isn't it. I can't believe this was written by the same Erica Ridley that I always love. It feels like a first draft of an idea where the jokes are still a little forced and the characters' personalities haven't been decided yet.
The anachronistic elements I can forgive because it's a twist on a fairy tale and disbelief can be suspended. I just couldn't get over the feeling that I wasn't reading the finished version of a story.
I can't believe I'm saying this, but I would just skip this and read any of Ridley's other excellent stories.

Thank you to NetGalley and the author for the chance to read it.

I would have really liked more of this story. It felt entirely too short and very rushed even for a novella. It didn't feel like we ever got to know the characters. It was such an amazing premise, so it's too bad that the story and characters didn't seem to be clear or defined.

The glimpse we got of the romance was sweet and steamy. Cynthia was a lovely, and I couldn't help but root for the stepsisters a little bit.

I completely adore Erica Ridley's writing and was so excited to see that this was a sapphic novella. That made it all the more disappointing that I didn't love it.

Thank you, Netgalley, and the publisher for allowing me an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

thank you to netgalley for the arc, I’m a sucker for Cinderella and sapphic Cinderella? Yes please. This was light, short and all I wanted out of it.

Not shitting on this book and I know it's a retelling, but this has barely any creativity.

I think this book/novella was just a bit too short. Not well developed. I got the concept and the story.

Thank you NetGalley for the e-arc version of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

A neat little story rewriting Cinderella for 5he 21st century. Cinders is attracted to a princess not a prince, the ugly sisters get the prince and have to fight, one to be wife, the other mistress. Cinders is intelligent and articulate and in the HEA turns into a philanthropist. A nice take on an old fashioned tale

Thanks Netgalley and webmotion for allowing me to read a copy of this book in exchange for a review.

I honestly really enjoyed reading this, I just wanted so much more from it.

The main characters were lovely, but lacked any real depth. They were sweet and wholesome and deserved each other entirely, but there was very little backstory, very little about them outside of their insta-love connection.

This also meant their romance, while sweet, left me wanting more too. I’m not a huge fan of insta-love but this kinda took things to the next level. I KNOW it’s a Cinderella retelling, so it’s going to lean into that trope, but I just wanted more lead-up, more depth, more…everything.

Which I think says a lot about how much potential is already in this story. It’s just that, sitting at around 100 pages, it’s not nearly long enough for me to be truly invested, which is a shame because it has so much potential as a starting point.

Still, if you’re looking for a quick, sweet sapphic regency romance, I do recommend picking this one up.

This is a face paced FF HR romance. It can be read as a standalone as none of the characters from book one are in this one. It's based off of Cinderella story but with a twist. These two have love at first sight - throw in an evil stepmother and sisters and you have a a story.
A little too fast for me- wanted more and the ending was rushed but nice FF novella!

Erica Ridley is one of my favorite authors. This novella is a perfect example of her amazing writing. In this fun spin of Cinderella Cynthia has become nothing more than a maid in her own home. Treated so unfairly she dreams of finding happiness. She sees that dream when the Prince Zuri comes to find a wife. But that’s not why she dreams, her dreams start when she lays eyes on the Princess Annalise. Will her dreams come true? You will love this fun spin on a classic fairy tale and imagine your own dreams come true. We always love her fun characters and detailed story. You will be hooked on Ridley instantly. Enjoy this adventure.
