"Are You Prepared for the Storm of Love Making? Letters of Love and Lust from the White House" by Dorothy Hoobler and Thomas Hoobler offers readers a fascinating glimpse into the intimate lives of past presidents and their partners. Through a collection of letters and correspondence, the authors shed light on the romantic and sometimes scandalous relationships that have unfolded within the walls of the White House.

While the subject matter may initially seem sensationalistic, the Hooblers approach it with scholarly rigor and sensitivity. They provide historical context and analysis, allowing readers to understand the significance of these personal exchanges within the broader political and social landscape. The parts that grab the reader the most are those tender moments that make you realize that these historical futures were more than just what textbooks have told us.

However, the book may not be for everyone, as some readers may find the content too salacious or voyeuristic. Additionally, the writing style can be dense at times, making it more suitable for those with a keen interest in history or presidential affairs.

Overall, "Are You Prepared for the Storm of Love Making?" offers a compelling exploration of love, lust, and power in the highest office in the United States, providing a unique perspective on the private lives of public figures.

Thank you to the Hooblers, NetGalley, and Simon & Schuster for sending me the eARC in exchange for an honest review.

I wasn't sure what I was expecting, but I knew this wasn't for me. I picked up this up because I do ultimately like reading about history but I chose this because I needed to build up my stats. I don't think I'm the target audience for this one though.

Definitely an interesting topic to make a book about but I feel like it didn't really have much going for it outside of the obvious gimmick of love letters from the POTUSs.
