This was surprisingly good! Once I was able to keep the characters straight, the story quickly became so wild! There are deaths, mysterious notes, grief and, somehow, fun surrounding the Sycamores apartment complex. When everything started unraveling, I had no clue how this madness would end! Thoroughly enjoyed reading this!

This book was an interesting ride.

Two women happen to cross paths at a motel turned apartment complex. They've both been through some things in their lives, and the both know a man who died. The same man.

The novel starts off strong, with the death of a character and a confession that will turn another character's life upside down. Seraphina does an excellent job of pulling you into her story immediately, and then weaving a web that keeps you hooked until the very end.

But the best part of the book? Definitely the insane cast of characters. There were so many fun side characters and I really feel like they made the story. As much as I wanted the main mystery to be solved, I also didn't want the book to end because of all the fun people that Glass created. They are flawed and ridiculous and oh so much fun.

If you need a book that'll keep you gripped till the end, this is the one for you.

This was amazing..Characters that you can't help but care about in a setting that's described so well it's as if you're right there with them every mysterious step of the way. Definitely a must-read!

The Vacancy In Room 10 by Seraphina Nova Glass was brilliant. This was my first novel by this author and I am craving more. This story kept me guessing the entire time I was reading it. It held my interest fully. It was very suspenseful. All of the characters are likeable. I would love to see future stories about the Sycamore and the residents there, especially little Frank! If you are looking for a thrilling mystery that is decently fast paced, then look no further. I highly recommend this one!
Thank you to the author, publishers, and Netgalley for an early release of this book.

Ok this one was so damn fun! I know I can count on the author for a totally entertaining popcorn thriller that’s fast paced and addictive but this had something extra that made this wildly appealing to me. The something extra for me was the characters in this slightly wacky thriller. The majority of the book takes place at The Sycamores which was such an atmospheric and slightly depressing setting. The residents of the complex were something else, all kinds of down on their luck people with larger than life personalities, especially the pool moms. Those ladies cracked me up! You hear from Cass and Anna in alternating chapters and this really kept the plot moving for me in a fast paced manner. There were several great reveals throughout and I appreciated the way the author placed them, again it kept things swiftly moving along and I finished this in just a couple of sittings. Overall this was a blast, definitely pick it up if you want to be totally entertained and enjoy a well plotted mystery.

This was my first Seraphina Nova Glass novel. I will be coming back for more.

First off, I really enjoy a premise that involves a contained population. Not locked room, per se, but a small community of people who are tied to a specific small area - think "The Club" by Ellery Lloyd (which I loved) but with the opposite tax bracket. And with new authors I never quite know how twisty or not twisty a book might be, so the first read is always a huge surprise. And this was no exception. I love the strong female characters and I couldn't wait to find out how everything tied together.

In the end, I really enjoyed how this played out. Some parts confused me a bit in the beginning but it all came together beautifully. Recommend!

“I promised myself that I won't do something like this again. I wish more than anything that I kept that promise.”

This thriller is absolute perfection. This was my first read from Seraphina Nova Glass and this is one that I will absolutely be recommending.
I absolutely loved the mystery of this one but I also really loved the characters. Not only the two main characters, Cass and Anna, but she also has side characters that are just as lovable.

When Anna Hartley's husband, Henry, calls her with a terrible, guilty confession, she can't believe what she hears. This can’t be real. Desperate for answers, Anna checks in to The Sycamores, the run-down motel turned apartment Henry rented as an art studio. The more she learns, and the less sense things seem to make, she finds herself wondering: Did she ever really know Henry at all?

Thank you Netgalley, htpbooks and the hive for providing me an advance readers copy in exchange for my honest review.
Release date: April 9th, 2024.

This was my first read from Seraphina Glass and it won’t be my last! Thank you for this ARC.

The story kept me guessing the entire time. Every time I thought I had it figured out, another twist was right around the corner. I wasn’t able to predict the ending although I thought I did a few times. Cass and Anna were characters that kept me interested the entire novel. All the women really band together and help out. This suspenseful thriller is definitely worth a read when it comes out April 9! I am excited to leave my review on Goodreads, Amazon, and tik tok!

Book review time!

First, I wanted to thank @netgalley for this book! It will be available on April 9.

"The Vacancy in Room 10" by@seraphinanovaglass
I honestly would give this book 4.5 stars! There were so many twists and turns and it never actually did go in the direction that I thought it would. And that's what I love in a book!

I stayed up until 2a this morning to finish it because I just had to know!

There are so many stories that intertwine. It originally focuses on Cass and Anna. It goes back and forth between the two of them. Cass was essentially abandoned by her boyfriend and she became the "handy ma'am" of a run down motel turned apartment complex, as she calls herself. Anna is a recent widow and her late husband had rented an apartment at this place.

Anna and Cass are each dealing with all the emotions and feelings of their own lives, and eventually, you meet a lot of the people at the complex and everyone has a story.

If you are a fan of thrillers like me, this is definitely one you should check out!

"The Vacancy in Room 10" will be released on April 9, 2024!

Wow! This suspense/thriller was the first book by this author that I have read, and I’ll be sure to check out her backlist books soon.

In this page-turning and propulsive novel, our main character, Cass, is forced to move into a crappy apartment complex that once served as a motel after her boyfriend cheats and they break up. As she gets to know the other tenants (a real motley crew!), and works in the complex’s front office, her life starts to spin out of control even more than it already has.

The author spins quite the web of suspense here, and did a fantastic job of weaving everyone’s storylines together while maintaining never-ending tension and unease. I never knew what was going to happen next, or how this story would eventually end. This is a unique plot, and I would recommend going in blindly to avoid spoilers and to just enjoy this wild ride.
*Thank you @netgalley and @harlequinbooks
for this advanced copy. This book hits shelves on 4/9/24.*

I jumped at the chance to read this with the early hype, but I felt like there was too much going on in this story and at times I felt like I was reading different books.

This book was a refreshing palette cleanser ! It was a very immersive setting which can help you easy transition from book to book with its neutral location. Something avid readers look for in some books.

There was plenty of dynamic characters to keep your interest peeked.

We’ve all driven by a crappy hotel and sworn it off. This book shows not all rundown places are run down in spirit. But you might be right to watch your back if you stumble across one.

The setting of the book heavily influences the over all mood of the book making you feel like you’re really there.

This book was very enjoyable and I would definitely recommend this as a travel book if you’re staying in a hotel/motel the vibes will be right there with you.

Cass thinks she has it all - a wonderful partner, great lifestyle in the fast lane until she finds that Reid is cheating on her and when confronted he evicts her. They had never married and he had wanted her to stay at home so now she has no job, no place to go and no family. Cass is a scorned woman trying to find her way in life while wanting him back despite the betrayal. She has always been handy so she finds a job at the Sycamores, a small apartment community where she'll have a free place to live in exchange for the management and upkeep of the rundown community. There are all kinds of people who have ended up there with interesting pasts and some they find are downright dangerous. Anna moves into her husband's art studio there after he commits suicide because she has to know why and how this happened and she feels the answers are related to his studio. Cass and Anna become intertwined in the secrets of the community as well as their own that turn their already upside down life into a dangerous quest for answers and a way forward. Enjoyed this suspenseful story full of self discovery and friendship.

This was a great read. I loved the quirky, well-developed characters. A riveting, fast-paced twisty thriller as well as an emotional psychological drama. Cass, Rosie, and Anna turned out to be strong female characters despite all the challenges in their lives. Let's not forget the "Pool Girls." They are tough, funny, and so supportive of their friends and neighbors. They got your back, for sure! Despite the fact that the Sycamores was a rundown former motel turned apartment complex, the financially strapped residents bonded together and created a tightly woven family atmosphere, one that you could truly call home.

Wow, that was a wild ride! Twist and turns all around. SNG is one of my all time favorite authors. I’m always captivated by her stories. Thank you NetGalley for the ARC! Read this book when it drops in April, you won’t be disappointed.

Anna’s husband calls in a panic, confessing to killing someone. Next she knows, his body is found. This starts a whirlwind of emotions for Anna with wondering suicide, keeping his secret of killing someone and then losing her house and needing to find a job.

It turns out, the job she finds is the best that could have happened to her, she just can’t see that yet. She’s a “handy ma’am” (in her words) at a run-down apartment complex that has the most eclectic modge podge of people she’s ever seen. It’s dirty, it’s smelly and hardly anything works. She feels she has definitely hit bottom.

As the story continues, the other characters really start to take the limelight. They seemed to be background people, but the more you read, the more you realize how they are becoming an integral part of the story.

I don’t want to give the ending away, but the twists had me shocked, the broken facades had me gasping, the group of loyal women made my heart happy and the mystery came to an end with a boom. Fabulous! My favorite part (after all the mystery and drama) are the women and the choices that Anna makes even after the mystery is over.

Fabulous writing with very calculated details, I loved it!

I was absolutely captivated by the description of The Vacancy in Room 10 and immediately requested an ARC. And let me just say, it did NOT disappoint. I loved the setting, loved the characters, and loved the plot. I truly could not put The Vacancy in Room 10 down. Do not sleep on this book!

Synopsis: The Sycamores is a run-down motel that has been converted into an apartment complex. After the unexpected death of Anna’s husband, she moves into his “art studio” in the complex to sort through his things. When the police inform her that his death has been ruled as foul play, she begins to investigate around the complex. Cass, the property manager, has her own reasons to be suspicious of activity at The Sycamores. As the lives of the two women intersect, they begin to uncover something deeper and more dangerous than they bargained for.

Thoughts: What a bingeable thriller! told through dual POVs of the two bold and feisty female main characters, Cass and Anna, this book weaves a complex and intriguing story that kept me on the edge of my seat. Things I loved: I enjoyed the two female main characters as well as the cast of side characters - they almost stole the show with some much needed humor. I loved the atmosphere/setting and the suspense that the creepy motel generated. The twists and turns were out of nowhere and kept me guessing. I was riveted the whole time!
